    Hey Amy
    I purchased this searing grill right after watching your video. Without a doubt, my family loves it. I've done steaks, burgers, hot dogs, sausage, smoke pork chops, chicken, as well as vegetables and last but not least, shrimp, and fish strips.
    I grill two to three times a week and the only drawback is that I wish it was a tad larger and another 50 degrees hotter, other than that, it's the best kitchen addition that we have.
    Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    Hamilton Beach makes fantastic indoor grills! I bought one in the 90’s and it lasted for 20 years. It made the best steak as good as if it was cooked on a Weber Charcoal Grill, which is my favorite. QVC has a Hamilton Beach Grill which I like better then this model, so I will be getting it from them. Thanks Amy and Eric for this great and helpful video.

    I just realized that I need an indoor grill in my kitchen. I have a grilling pan but it performs poorly and I don't really like to use it. I was actually thinking about buying one of those "as seen on tv" contact grills that have 2 heating panels but this single heating element grill appeals to me more. I might actually buy something like that. Great review as alway!

      Beth go to Costco and get yourself The Rock reversible grill sheet for 20 bucks. It's amazing. Let it cool down partway after cooking and then spray it with plain water and the heat will steam it so you can just clean it so easy when you're done. Makes beautiful char marks on food.

    How easy is it to clean the sides of where the removable tray goes??

    • @EricLearnstoCook
      @EricLearnstoCook 3 роки тому +1

      I hand washed everything after each of the two uses. The cooking plate cleans well if you soak in hot water to get the grease off the back (aluminum?). Just make sure to get a dish cloth in between the openings/slats where the grease drips to the pan below. The bottom part where the electrical connections are is the part to be careful of. I immerse the part that doesn't have the connections in shallow soapy water being careful to not get the other part wet. The part with the connectors, I just wipe with a soapy dish cloth and then wipe the soap off carefully. The lid part comes clean pretty easy as well.

    How is the smoke? I don’t know if it’s smokeless or not! Most that claim smokeless aren’t but I don’t see this advertising smokeless

    • @EricLearnstoCook
      @EricLearnstoCook 3 роки тому

      We didn't have any smoke until we turned up the temp to "sear" and the fat on the steak was melting. I ran the fan for a few minutes and then the smoke stopped and turned off the fan. I don't know how "smokeless" operate. I'm sure if you have plenty of oil/grease and high enough temps, you'll have smoke. But Amy didn't really use much oil and kept the temps down a bit so she could cook (without killing the food).

    Here’s the real review of this grill I have the one with the ceramic plate which is supposed to be nonstick, but everything sticks to it. Also, if you put the bottom drain the dishwasher, it warps even on the top rack. Save your money don’t support company that puts out shit products.

    • @AmyLearnsToCook
      @AmyLearnsToCook  Рік тому +1

      This model has a nonstick grill plate so I did not have that problem. I cannot compare it to the ceramic version. Ceramic cookware tends to have that problem as well so it does not surprise me. So...a real review of this model would be to use this model and not the ceramic version. It is not fair to this model to review it based on using a different grill. Thanks for watching!

    • @Starcom70
      @Starcom70 Рік тому

      @@AmyLearnsToCook that is a fair assessment of my real review. However, you did not address the bottom, drip pan made of cheap plastic which warps in the dishwasher top rack. I’ve had two of these grills, one, the ceramic, and one the nonstick version like you have however, the warping drip tray is common on both.
