In April 2022, Paula Garcia watched the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon Fire in northern New Mexico consume more than 341,000 acres - including many of her family’s lands. And as the executive director of the New Mexico Acequia Association, she has worked tirelessly to help the acequia community recover from continued post-wildfire flooding. In this special segment with Garcia and her family, she explains that people will be adapting to climate change forever - and that by healing the land, people also heal themselves.
