Understand you wanting to keep the costs down... Suppose you could always re-wire it in the future... Your Munit build was awesome! Not cheap... but awesome! Has inspired me to do the same.

Thanks for the wiring primer- very helpful for me, Taylor. Am also looking forward to the tank dent repair revisit! 🏍👍🏍

I'm loving this channel man! I've done 3 CB400T already and always opted for redoing the wiring from the ground up. Old copper is cause for Gremlins.

If you love wiring so much, I have a 68 Mustang that you can come finish installing a wiring harness in for me. 😂 I even have a portable ac that can blow into the car to keep you cool.
Great job on the bike. I'm enjoying watching your process.

Thank you SO much for introducing me to the Power Probe! Electrics are definitely my weak point when it comes to working on bikes (and cars). I've since watched several videos on these electric digital magic wands, and will be buying my own within the next few days!! FYI, Revival Cycles also has a great video on the M Unit, as well as the M Unit Blue. And since you are in Austin, you should RACE down to AF1 Racing and test ride a Zero and an Energica!

Love it brother, great video overall. I always love watching them. Not sure how much you love wiring but you are welcome to my wiring when you take a vacation to Australia lol :) I will throw free food and accommodation in as well 😆
We could create a video from it. “Classic Octane meets Cafe Racer Garage Down under” 👍😁

Great videos! Learning a lot for my project bike! Is there anything you recommend while working on wiring where I couldn't connect directly to the bike/battery to have juice flowing from a wall outlet so i can test my current and connections so i don't have to keep charing and draining the battery?? tried to see if you mention this in any of your videos but I don't think I have found anything.

So since your probably the first and only person to say you enjoy wiring you should try to do a video on wiring from scratch for instance if you got a bike with no wire harness at all (like i did)

I wired my Triumph from scratch with an M-Unit. That video is on my channel. I'm sure I will need to rewire one of these old Honda's at some point.

  • @jimallen199

personally on an old bike with a simple wiring harness I would be inclined to rewire it from scratch just using the old one as a template. Great videos though.

Hi Taylor,I've decided to buy a ultra sonic cleaner machine, just curious as to what solution do you put in it when cleaning your carbs.thanx craig

Maybe you can use your front turn signal to bolt your head light to the bracket. This will solve your washer issue.

I’ve got a 78 500 and it’s headlight and starter cover are stripped. Any tips to get them apart without hurting them too much?

Any chance you know what is the smallest lithium battery I could use on a 78 Honda gl1000 Goldwing? Doing my first ever build and it's going to be a bobber style so trying to clean it up

Not so 'super easy' getting a stand pivot out on a bike exposed to the UK weather and salt on the roads in the winter believe me, it took me several days with the one in the CD200 that my brother gifted me. Heat and perseverence got me there though. I'm enjoying your videos though, even if I'm more a singles and twin man than fours but as my career included 30 years doing Honda parts I'm always interested in learning more things about them even if these days I'm involved in parts for Ariels, BSA and Meriden Triumph.

Really enjoying all of your videos. I have a CB550 i'm currently working on. Can you recommend a MIG welder for basic bike projects? I have taken a basic welding class, but not sure if i need something with a lot of bells and whistles if i'm just gonna be working on frames and sheet metal. Thanks in advance!

Great video as always! I also enjoy wiring challenges. I'm working on a 1977 CB550F right now myself. Two quick questions if you have a few minutes. First, there are two small breather tubes that come off the back of the carbs and another main breather tube that comes off the top of the engine. How do you recommend handling those when you remove the stock air box and run pod filters? Second, where did you get that rear stand that you show in this video? I also want to remove my stock center stand and so I'll need a separate rear stand. Thanks!

    • @ClassicOctane
      @ClassicOctane  6 років тому

I just keep the lines on and have them open. I haven't had any issues. the rear stand is from Amazon. I just added it to my page you can find it at www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-3f8085ce

Sure, but the shorter the hose the higher chance of getting dirt back into the engine.

Not sure how you did the soldering, but you might want to try these, if you can't have any: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KUTMKOE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A1YLL9HRCJCGO9&psc=1. You can also get them at Revival Cycles, I think. Also, I would love to have seen the 'after' of the brake switch after you cleaned it up (I know that and the Power Probe aren't on this video). I've never seen one taken apart before, and might have been to salvage one on a Honda rather than replace, had I know they could be taken apart and cleaned before reinstalling.
