- This is the first part of the documentary made about recording SFA's 9th album, 'Dark Days / Light Years'. The footage used is made up of:
i) interviews;
ii) the series of 22 short films that were shown on their website. (One film was added each day leading up to the album's release);
iii) the live webcast performance which was broadcast on their website on the day of release.
The 22 videos were inspired by the film 'Timecode' - ie, they were made by using four continuous takes that were filmed simultaneously by four seperate cameras. They were then shown simultaneously with the screen divided into quarters.
These videos were memorably described by The Guardian as "at once enormously dull, pleasingly insightful and curiously compelling."
This part contains 3 scenes:
1) "Intro"
2) The Very Best Of Neil Diamond
3) "Unhinged Rock Record"
Mwynhewch / Enjoy!
"groove-based", that made my ears perk-up, as I translate that to be "dance-able" but, probably, in the "rave" context. I would definitely go to such a "rave" party featuring Super Furry Animals! And I would most definitely be dancing. Yes.
Am I dating myself with the term "rave party???" LOL
Rave tank techno mayhem...
11 years.... :(
Nice One for the upload, I've vids not seen these yet.
Where did the interview clips come from?
Right, fucking amazing already and I havnt even got near inaugural trams yet, fuck me
Diolch :)
All their albums were briliant until this disaster. There's not one single on the album, it's like a mishmash of throw away songs that weren't even worthy of being b-sides. I'm very suprised they let it go out. I could be wrong of course, maybe they think it's brilliant lol. I thought it was a very poor album though.
That's a tough take, I'm a big fan of their music, but this album is the only one I've never really listened, I'm sure it's not THAT disappointing !
@@cyyytr0n I'm sorry, it's so bad, its beyond terrible and I'm surprised they let it go out on sale. But on the other hand it does show me that they won't be making another album again. They simply ran out of tunes I guess, not a huge selling band but they must have made a lot oftheir money touring. All the same, that's the only bad album they've brought out, the rest are genius and if not still pretty good.
