The EVH WG Special is one of the best guitars you have ever demoed and I have been watching this channel for years. The pickups on these guitars are outstanding...lots of crunch and growl, not to mention both natural and unnatural harmonics pop off these pups effortlessly. I own a WG Special and a WG Standard. Both are amazing instruments.
I can honestly say, I’ve never wanted an EVH as much as I do right now! ❤

I love Wolfgang’s. I have the Wolfgang Standard in Amber, Wolfgang Specials in Ivory, Stealth, and Purple Burst. They are wicked🔥🔥🔥
Agreed. I own 3 specials and one standard. Love them all. Oh I also bought a 5150 stealth. Killer guitars indeed. 🎸

Love my EVH Wolfgang Stealth Special. It’s been my main guitar since I received it April 2023. That metallic purple would be my bucket list color for an EVH but I’m a lefty so that’s not in the cards. Having said that, the flat black ‘Stealth’ has been great. It wears in a pleasing way to me… Gets shiny where it’s touched the most but no fingerprint issues. It reminds of a muscle car. 💪🏼
I have this guitar. And I can honestly say - I agree with you 100%. It's a stone-cold killer. I mean... it's just plum-crazy awesome! I've got a bunch of em' .... and this one might be my favorite. It's got raw power, yet the pups are also very articulate, imo. And yeah - the guitar, in person, is stunning. I think you captured that pretty well. I also have this guitar in Sonic Boom. Also.... totally amazing. And I have a Wolfgang Standard in Battleship Gray. Also wonderful - esp for that amount of cash. Just amazing guitars! Great vid!

I have one in chlorine burst blue. I thought the dtuna sucked bad but have just recently found out you must set the tuning and tuning system in dropped D first with the Dtuna out/disengaged. Tune, lock and then engage the dtuna for standard. That way if theres going to be a slight pitch problem it will be in standard and thats what the grub screw in the side of the dtuna is for. Im now going to go set mine up properly because the store obviously had no idea as I asked them to set it up b4 delivery.
That looks really good on camera. I think it's purple but looks like an electric blue from certain angles. Either way, awesome.

Love love love that guitar! I just bought a Wolfgang standard in Midnight Sunset (I believe it’s called) and am obsessed with it. Great guitars, but what else would you expect from the GOAT, EVH.

An interesting demo would be an instrument that you typically don't play, like an offset Fender? Maybe a Jazzmaster or Jaguar? I'd be interested in hearing you stretch out a bit beyond your comfort zone, and hear what that might do to the sounds you get out of it and the tones you might come up with.
I would love to see you try out a new MIJ ESP Horizon .

Own one of these and it is an absolute beast. Only thing wrong is the stock trem SUCKS! I replaced it with a much better Floyd and blocked it down only for the Dtuna. All good after that. As demonstrated, it’s incredibly versatile with 2 buckets. It’s my Eb guitar and it can do it all!

I know people are going to think I'm . . . yea . . . but - - - about 17 years ago, I drew up plans for a dual humbucker guitar that looked a LOT like this. I was living in the Sacramento area, and the plans become lost (or stolen) during a move. Who knows? Whatever - - - it's a great looking guitar with beautiful tone.
There are three generations of the Wolfgang. The first in 91 with Ernie Ball. The second in 96 with Peavey. Thiis EVH/Fender came out in 2009 and is almost the same as the Peavey, except for the cut out in the headstock amd design/location of the knobs and switch.

Could you custom build and share a Guitar Fetish guitar to your exact specs as part of a series? Maybe w/ some non GF pickups (Duncan, DiMarzio, Fishman or Dylan talks tone set perhaps?)
I’m interested in building one but I don’t have your expertise/knowledge. I realize other channels have done this but they always leave steps out or skim over stuff too fast which doesn’t explain well to those of us who are new to this. The main reason I’m asking you specifically is everybody tries to explain the “how” - but nobody seems to explain “WHY”. I feel the “why” is sorely missed.
GF has a load of new stuff now nobody is talking about. A step-by-step tutorial to follow along with could be really cool and helpful from someone like you.
Not only the build process, but WHY you chose the body/neck/woods and electronics to build a guitar that You personally would like to play.
Or, if Guitar Fetish isn’t quality stuff - I’ve read mixed reviews, perhaps another build brand. Warmoth build would be cool but I don’t think I can afford it. I like the thought of building my own guitar - but it’s overwhelming- especially for a girl.

Did you get the Plek setup from SW? I’ve never bought from them but am considering the purchase of 2 guitars from them. Seems like a great company to buy from, any comments from anyone here?
I've had good luck with them. I buy everything through them and the plek setup is good depending on the guitar. I would say for a cheaper guitar where there are some some compromises, it's even more worth it.

What are the pups rated at?
Very low quality ebony in that fretboard. Select high quality ebony for instrumental use should never have those blond streaks in it. If I ordered one of these, I would have been very disappointed, despite all the other very positive aspects and overall quality workmanship. Probably better to stick with a maple fretboard on these as you can't go wrong with that...and anyway, that's Eddie's first choice for his own guitars.
You never had or played an EVH Wolfgang Special w/Ebony Fretboard before? Shame on you. By the way, That fretboard should be all dark with
no lighter shades of wood grain (should be all black). Send it back for being a B-Stock.
My Wolfgang Special in Stealth-Black color also has a bad defect, it is a tremendous headache to keep clean. Bad color choice from EVH/Fender.
But I kept it because its not only for Heavy metal "shredding", its also AMAZING for playing blues, funk, punk and anything you can play on it.
Who said I never played one? I played quite a few at the namm show. I just never had one to review. Ebony fretboards are no longer all dark, so you're using antiquated info there. They use the streaky stuff because of the obscene waste with ebony that isn't perfectly black. You must have been out of the market for a while, because this has been a thing for at least the last three or four years, pretty much since Taylor called out the incredible waste (roughly 19 out of 20 trees felled were discarded in the forest for failing color uniformity). Calling it B stock had me chuckling at your naivete.

I just hate how these are only 22 frets with a non floating trem. I just can’t do it. It’s ancient technology to me without those modern day features.
