From the rear, it looks as if the new X2 could topple over with every turn you make due to just how high it sits. Nothing about this design screams to me that the new X2 is "sportier" than the X1.
Well their sales sure dont represent that so dont expect any changes anytime soon. I personally love the new designs. Refreshing to see an automaker try new things and not look like thsy are stuck in 2018
should've made the tiny little piece above the license green to mirror the top dip to bring some indication of a kidney grille, great redesign, I think just the placement of the headlights makes the best difference, idk what BMW designers are still on
I don’t know man , as a BMW lover and owner , whenever i see new BMW models it leaves me with deep sadness. But this redesign is amazing! I love the way that you took headlights little bit down so front end is much more confident looking now.
I am not a fan of bmw. Never had one and probably never will, but I'm definitely the odd one out as I actually like the look of modern BMWs. I see them driving around, and it definitely has a cool shock factor about them. On the other hand, I really like the redesign.
Honestly I think the front looks better in the real x2 but all the rest looks better in the redesign. Hope they come back to the e30 vibe in the design with the neue Klasse. Is the e30 static for you?
WOW... Your front end looks WAY better. Off topic but I'd LOVE to see a 911 (992) modern slant nose. As well as a current Supra with a proper Toyota interior that pays homage to the MK4 instead of the BMWs interior that has all the passion of an electric razor.....
Ésta vez sí te pasaste con el rediseño. Que buen trabajo, quedó muy linda ahora. Te sigo hace un tiempo y te felicito por el contenido... Saludos desde Argentina.
The new MINI Clubman looks much better and uses the same powertrain + built in the same German factory. I do however agree that the X1 looks nice when compared to the abomination that is an X2.
I don’t agree, this looks miles better! It is a very distinctive design that has a very similar front end to the new 5 series. In person, it looks fantastic!
It’s all well and good penning some new lines but are you taking into account safety laws, crash protection, production constraints, insurance costs for repairs, practicality, aerodynamics and the need to parts share? I’m sure the designers of all cars would want to change many things but they get overruled for other reasons than what looks good today.
Such an improvement - Especially on the front - Looks much more planted and less blocky. I will say that this car looks so different in different colors. That green is not doing the original design any favors.
Finally we are back to why i started watching you in the first place!Photoshop is where you belong. This is a genious redesign. BMW are really dissapointing right now. Nice job making it actually good-looking 😅
honestly, I get why BMW's doing the things they've been doing for the past few years -- it feels like their iconic design language & proportions peaked in the late 2010's and they took it as far as it could go, with the best example being the G30 5-series. That car feels like a spiritual successor to the e39 (my first car & favorite BMW) and strikes me as classic BMW (the only other current model that has that classic dna is the 8 series); what we're seeing now is a design team being very liberal with their roots, keeping key characteristics (honestly really only the kidneys at this point, rip halos) but even playing around with the graphics for those features i.e. the inconsistency of grilles between literally every model. They're finding new roots it seems, and this gen of cars feels a little Bangle-era to me -- there are things here and there we may end up looking back fondly on. I quite like the experimentation in the lineup, even if some designs don't do it for me it feels super fun. I'm currently with the G42 230i with the m-sport trim and it's grown so much on me even though I hated it upon release.
I dont understand at all why so many manufacturers, especially BMW, are putting the ACC radars on display. it seems so lazy. i understand that you cant have it obstructed but is slapping it right on the grille really the only option? Audi has it figured out, so why cant Merc or BmW?
I don't think that its possible to fix it without major alteration. The body looks like its been stretched 10cm up from the 50% cut line and it makes this model look way bulkier than the previous X2. The rear is horrible on the new model, just too flat and tall and the thin lights make it even worse. I can somewhat tolerate the front, the car just looks too tall now.
The quintessential problem automotive styling is facing today is that the packages' proportions are wrong. Today's cars are crossover-SUVs or, even worse, pick up trucks, and this makes the vehicles inherently looo static and blocky. In the 1950s the mantra was Longer, Lower and Wider and it paid *massive* dividends to styling: a 1957 Belvedere 2 door hardtop was 5.20 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.37 meters tall, and in fact it was a gorgeous car with a sloping roofline and chiseled side sculpting. If the proportions of the car are good, it is very hard to end up with a bad design. Conversely, with a poor package it is actually hard to make it look at least decent.
I have never owned a BMW. You lost me at - "the X1 looks better." I didn't watch the whole video, but I am guessing he took the distinctive X2 design and make it look like a bland BMW X1. I compared the X1 and X2 photos side-by-side on my ultrawide monitor. Also, I saw the X2 M35i and iX2 in a showroom. X2 looks much better than the X1 from all angles. Now I just have to persuade SWMBO that we should get an X2.
I would not buy either, but massive improve 👍🏻 The front doesn’t looks that bad compared to the back (it could have been worse if they slap the 4 series kidneys…) but why so agressive? And what you said, the lidar is in the worst place posible…. And what about the rear, could it be ugliest back on a BMW ever? I sadly I think so.
I gotta be honest, you improved it by a lot, but it’s still pretty bad. I just don’t understand why they don’t separate the kidneys, and I’m no fan of their new head- and taillight designs
bmw should hire u bro

That's good job, it looks way better. BMW are trying too hard to make the cars look distinctive, paring it back slightly makes a huge difference.

I think BMW 3 series and X1 are the only BMW cars current on sale with a nice design….I prefer, by far, the former X2….

Starting to think bmw designers are bored and waits for you to redesign their cars so they can have a mid-cycle refresh with your work
As a rule of thumb, BMW needs your sign off before going to market with their designs
