Curious if this would crash your cycle...brand new filter and media would struggle to process nitrite and ammonia with a majority of the beneficial bacteria being in your old filter that was totally removed or did you run them side by side off video till your new filter was established?
It didn’t crash my cycle. I added it brand new like that. When I made that video I was pretty new to the hobby and I still am. But today I would probably add established media to it.
@@terraquaman fish gods were with you🙌🏼🤣I always run mine side by side for about a month..it looks awful in the beginning but it gets the job done relatively stress free less testing..I also always keep at least 1 sponge filter in all my tanks in case of emergencies and trust me ive had plenty over the years sace my🍑many times
What size lily pipes did you purpose? And how did you attach them to the hose? Just with boiling hot water and once they cool down it sets? I’m looking for the same lily pipes
The lily pipes I used came from fruugo not the best quality I actually broke the intake during maintenance. The size : M-Approx.Pipe Diameter Approx.1.3cm/0.51in, Height Approx.15cm/5.90in
Your channel is very underrated

What’s the floating plant you have on top?
Water lettuce.
Now I feel confident I can redo my aquarium with a canister filter
That’s awesome to hear 😊
What about the noise? With the new filtef?
You can definitely hear the filter running but is so subtle that it doesn’t bother me 😊
❤❤❤❤
