I have had ear mites last year. 1st time dealing with it. I used ivermectin 1cc on the back of the neck within a day they were better. I did have to treat one doe three times her case was very bad. You have beautiful silver fox rabbits. I have one steel New Zealand which is not recognized in the show world of New Zealand breeders but I breed for meat and pellets so I love the steel colors. My steel doe has a litter at her side now 6 weeks old and I believe she has a broken steel, two steels and the rest are broken not sure what they are if not black. Thank you for sharing till next time God Bless you all.

I've heard great things about ivermectin. I'll definitely need to add it to my bunny supplies. Ear mites are so frustrating 😅
Your bunnies are so beautiful! I just recently watched one of your videos, and I just love all the colors you have in your rabbitry.
Thank you so much for your assistance in my ear mite problem 🫶

I have a friend that breeds meat rabbits, but she's on the East coast. I'll try to message her tomorrow and see if she has any ideas about the mites.

Oh thank you! I've only ever treated ear mites with olive oil drops in the ears, but I would love some more suggestions 😊

She's definitely got mites. I've treated mites a few times, but it can be so hard to deal with 😞
Do you have any suggestions? I've been putting olive oil in her ears to try and suffocate those darn buggies, but I would love any other suggestions.

I try not to use dewormers too often, as recommended by my farm mentors. Animals can build up an immunity to frequently given medication, and it's best to only treat as needed.
I've never heard of using a dewormer to help treat ear mite. Does it work well? Have you had success with that method? I'm always open to new ideas for helping my animals.

We sprinkle DE (diatomaceous earth) in cages/shelters to control mites. Also, you can add the DE to dust baths to treat them directly. Best of luck! ✌️
