This is my concept for an extendable/pull out table saw. I had been playing with this idea in my head for a while now. I didn't want to make a mobile base on wheels because the floor is quite uneven and I wanted the stability of a fixed base. It is mounted to the wall so it is very rigid. I was initially thinking of having it fold down to be flat against the wall but having it this way means I can still use it when it up against the wall.
I wanted the footprint to be as small as possible and be retractable as I want to keep the floor space as open as I can for when I'm cutting down full sheets of plywood and moving big objects.

Wow. Plenty upgrades. New location, new saw, no more potato cam. Last thing I remember was that place where you did tons of repetitive frames for the stools and tables. The rack and pinion fence on the DeWalt makes life easier.
Haha that was a long time ago!
Thank you for sharing this awesome space saving idea!
Cool rig🤙
Amazing! That's quite ingenious. And it's solid as a rock!
I love when a cunning plan takes shape. Well done.👍😎
Me too! Thanks!
Well done ! Thank you for sharing your workshop ideas. This is very inspiring.
Thank you very much!
Great design!!
Interesting design.
This is an awesome project, well made, your angles on the supports to the fixed brace are spot on parallel, watched a couple of your videos now & excellent work sir, ps I’ve subscribed.

Dude this is amazing! Very creative use of space.
Thank you!
Ingenious!
Great saw. I built the same one and also a table for it. An optimal tool in the table with a router. Greetings Michel from Germany
Very beautiful work, magnificent .Bravo👏👏👍. Norbert ( France)
WoW!!! How on earth do you come up with a idea like that, that is truly a work of art 👍👍👍
Thank you very much!

Thanks very much!!
Pretty amazing man, loved that idea

Saudações do Brasil.
Ficou ótimo.
Parabéns
Uma otima ideia pra pequenos espaços,👏👏
This is awesome! Very clever and certainly uses space really efficiently!
I notice you had the Ryobi table saw in a previous video.. Worth the upgrade?
@@teazeb Absolutely! the fence would never be accurate on the Ryobi
@@TheOffcut Good to know. I'm picking up that Ryobi is good for things that don't need great precision (nailers, glue guns, etc), but best go for the better brands with precision stuff. Btw, do you still use your dust collection system you built?
Ryobi is good value for money. Most cheaper brands have similar issues when it comes to bigger tools like mitre saws and table saws. I still use the shop vac. Its hiding in the cupboard in the back of my workshop. I'm planning to build an enclosure for it to reduce the sound.
Excelente, muy buena idea!!
You do some very nice work! I recall the soda bottle dust separator, and the workbench with a clamp rack under one end, both ingenious and well executed. Just now, I watched the (most recent) lumber rack and table saw stand. Very nice! Keep it up!
Thanks very much!
I find small shops to be quirky ad creative
That's awesome
Very cool
This is sweeeeeet!
great job.
Great design! Given this is for a table saw, I would recommend to have a latching/locking mechanism at the bottom rod. (due to Vibration)
Thanks! I made sure that the notch that the dowel sits in is deep and tight enough and along with the weight on it, it won't unintentionally come loose.
Magnífico...
Complimenti veramente molto molto molto bello 👍 👍👍👍
Super project 👍😊
Thank you 👍
Nice design and engineering. Great vide3. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Cheers!
Cool build. Great idea. Well done. I know you feel in control on that table saw because you use it a lot. But this is the effect from a cause. Familiarity breeds contempt---except when you cut the dowel with a push stick...sort of. Time lapse saw work alarms me but go ahead and take this seriously. I watched a happy-go-lucky, handsome, highly intelligent, and good friend in college remove all for fingers on a table saw at the end of a full day of doing repetitive cuts on a thick dado stack. The blade sucked him right into it. He walked up to me slowly, holding up in front of him his broken hand gripping it tightly at the wrist screaming as this fingers dangled from the last layer of skin against the back of his new stump. It was like from a horror movie without the awesome music. Instant PTSD, right? I will never forget that. Every single time I fire up that saw. Your incomplete xcellence can become your enemy, my young friend. Please, do not remember this comment after your next accident. Just don't have it. Take the necessary time and trouble consonant with your calm, meditative manner at work to USE a push stick every single cut. I do it as a professional point of pride. It might not seem worthwhile until the blood begins to flow. Peace.
nice !! very nice
I do watch all your videos but here I have to say something. I would have hinged the saw to swivel out to use. then all that space underneath can be fully utilized for storage. Nice pull out design though. Keep up the great videos. Looking forward to your next video. I don't always comment, I do always watch.
Awesome work! Love the build style!
Muito bom!!!
Merci, elle est dans mon garage en France 👍
Perfeito!
aloha, my wife and i love your stuff. excellent designs... we're trying to catch up on all your videos. be safe.
Mahalo! Thanks for the comment
Great channel.. and thoughtful content... might be worth investing in some quality knee pads.. I am in my mid fifties and wish that I'd taken better care my joints when I was younger..
Thanks! Good idea. I have thought about that too. Might be time to get some
Did you come with that while sitting in couche and drinking tea from giant coaster LOL. 🤣😀
Very cool mate!
I spent many hours on the couch sipping tea while thinking of this design. The giant coaster was essential for this project :D
👏👊
😍😍😍😍😍
👍👍😎
This is brilliant, will save this for when I eventually have a shop! What is the size of the top of the table? and will you be making plans for this? Also what's the size of your shop? Thanks
Thanks! The top of the stand is 600mm x 700mm. I am working on plans for them. My shop is 6m x 3m
Hey mate, Aucklander here and wannabe tinkerer. I stumbled across your channel today - it's fantastic! Whereabouts are you sourcing your timber from?
Cheers Gavin. I get my plywood from Plytech in East Tamaki
Superb idea, very well done!................. When do the plans go on sale?
Plans are now available. Link in the description :)
😊👏🏻👍🏻
Gee that's fancy Tim - came out really well didn't it. Good thinking having it still available for use when up against the wall. Did you not want to cut out towards the road?
Haha thanks Rob. I want to contain everything within the garage, and have good workflow from bringing materials in from my car into the garage or straight on to the saw. Also my driveway is sloped so I wouldn't really be practical if I needed an outfeed table and cutting out towards the driveway
@@TheOffcut Are you going to do a outfeed table on casters or fold down? I have a similar size space I am about to turn into my shop... very inspiring work. Thanks for sharing!
@@johnzbeats Probably small fold down side support and outfeed
You are a genius, young man! You give me *so* much hope!
I read from another comment that your name is Tim? Is this correct?
Thanks! Yes my name is Tim
*The Offcut* Tim, it truly is an honour knowing you. So young, and efficient! Keep up your great work Mate!
@@IsaKocoglu Thank you very much!
What is the model of the mitre saw? Toolshed brand?
Yup
🇬🇷👍👌 from florina Greece and Western Macedonian 🇬🇷
Which table saw is that one please?
Dewalt DW745
Lovey ...... next ting u need is some proper ppe
Your knees will be knackered in 5 years
Goggles Good mask
Bless ya
Must say , love the Saw table Fabulous !!!!!!!!!!
Dear Sir
You have a tiny big shop. At first sight no tools appear but as a magician you draw tools from nowhere. Very good idea of saving space. But the speed of your video is a little high.
How big is your space?
it is 6m x 3m
*The Offcut* 😱😍
Thanks for good video! But PLEASE get a pushhandle for your tablesaw. Using your hands for narrow cuts like that, will end badly at some point...
LOL 🤣. Can I please rent your "thinking" coaster , as I need to make something incredible too ? Ha ha 👍🤣😂. I can't wait for your next video mate. I hope you not disappear on level 3.
Hahahaha sure. But then I might not get any ideas for more projects! I hope so too!
Where all the homemade dust collector and diy table saw go?
I stopped using the table saw. I still have the dust collector
26 jealous people gave this a thumbs down.
great space saver design but dude, you ran out of plywood sheets. Lol.
Hahaha still got some left!! I used as little as possible
but the table on wheels would do same job and more, but definitely less vibration for this solution
My floor is very uneven and I didn't want it moving around when doing big cuts on it
My nigga
Good job 👍.
You may think to do a table for the stand drill.
Thanks. Its on the list :D
