The ITO is fouled and the left hand covers the ball. Not every ball is like this, blocking the serve when important scores.
ITO has such strong strength and should not be cheated. Why is the ITTF not punishing ITO? There have been complaints from several national associations.

Everytime i get depressed about the seemingly never ending chinese domination, Ito comes out here and reminds me why i should still have hope. Thank god she exists.

Ito has made good improvement in her forehand coverage and shots. Finally it is satisfying as a fan of Ito to see her happy with this win in a final over a top Chinese player after several close losses recently

Mima is a actual threat to CNT in Tokyo. It was only a matter of time to her win a big tournament.
ZYL is honestly just really bad against Ito - she looks totally lost about what to do or what tactics to use to beat her. SYS fared much better against her.
Mima is a good challenge but not a threat. There wasn't even good players for the Women's team. where is Cheng Meng and Sun yingsha? Liu Shiwen seems out of shape lost to her not well known team mate.

On second watch, this is the first time I’ve ever felt sorry for Zhu. She was nice to Mima at the award ceremony. And I think, this time, she did the best she could. No Olympics for her now. Or more World Cups.

Mima Ito, Calderano, Ovterov, Fan DenJong, these players enjoy the game the most. It’s always nice to play someone who likes what they’re doing. I think more players should join the party with these imbelished serve routines, every point regarless of the energy ebbs and flows.

Zhu Yuling was so nervous I could feel it while watching. Especially during the 4th set you can see how passive she became during the endgame. Great game from Ito and hopefully she'll stay consistent.

Zhu Yuling's style is passive, and waiting for opponent to error out. But you cannot be passive to Mima Ito because she is too fast...

Chinese girls rely heavily on spin. Ito is trained to counter block with backhand SP at high speed, forcing a slow return (i.e. if opponent can get to it) then smash to kill. She is fully built for speed so only players like SYS who plays with different tactics can match. However, glad to see there are new developments in the game to keep our interest going.
small players like the Japanese can not do top spin, because they cannot move away from the table. They can only do fast hits. Chinese women team had to play fast too. Unlike the men, can counter fast returns with topspin. Look at XuXin's match against any fast hitter like Harimoto.
They have to depend on spin to counter pimpled play. That's the only way. As long as there is enough spin (which is made more difficult due to the change to plastic and bigger 40+ balls), pimpled play (be it long, short, half-long) and their various properties would be neutralised and result in the user making forced errors. I mean, why else do you think ZYL is able to score points, because Ito couldn't have been missing all 51 shots (some were her own mistakes no doubt) nor does she use pips on both sides because spin is still arguably the most important aspect in TT. Also, SYS does not really play with many "different tactics". The base plan has always been to start with long fast serves, preferably with great underspin to the baseline (not easy to do as there is a chance of completely going out or getting caught in the net) which will force Ito into a passive receive as she cannot use her short pips punch (she can try but 95% of the time it will be in the net) and must rely on her forehand (FH) - either try to lift and flat hit or loop but her technique is not great at the moment. The reason SYS has a higher winning rate over Ito than her colleagues is because she has great power (to end the point quickly whenever an opportunity arises), spin (reduce the effect of the pimples) and speed (reaction time but must also be quick to allow time to add spin) as well as a killer FH (cross-court shots but also to send to Ito's FH which is her 'weaker' side). The other Chinese women usually have a good combination of two traits but not all three, or at least not as balanced as SYS (e.g. CM has great power & spin but is comparatively slower) and favour the backhand (BH) and we all know to avoid extended BH rallies as any slight misstep (i.e. insufficient spin) will allow Ito to punch the ball back at rocket speed. However, Ito has worked extremely hard around these issues and came up with a variety of techniques (especially her serves and receives) that confuses her opponents. What should have been 'limitations' from her setup has in fact worked to her advantage, particularly if her opponent is unable to decipher which rubber was used and which contact point. To beat Ito when she's on form, spin, power, speed and the ability to adapt to the young Japanese's creativity are all needed, which is clearly very demanding.

Zhu Yuling never had an answer. Ito served her down. Ito made Zhu afraid to forehand loop hard. Zhu was forced into passivity. And any ball that popped was terminated with extreme prejudice. Ito is a machine.
Giving Ito balls at such a height where it can be easily smashed is dangerous now. Ito is looking really strong

一般都會認為在小女孩伊藤美誠18歲亭亭玉立之後，比伊藤大5歲的朱雨玲，就失去了優勢。

1.乒乓女皇鄧亞萍一脈：
鄧亞萍反手顆粒(長顆)，近台快攻，既快又猛。伊藤美誠(短顆)勉強有點神韻味道(正手還差幾個等級)。
2.暴君王楠&大魔王張怡寧一脈：
雙反配置，攻守兼備。張怡寧略偏綿密防守伺機反攻。朱雨玲算是弱化版本的後繼者。
3.男子化打法的郭躍一脈：
強勁的正手，是最大特色。當年郭躍可惜傷病等因素流星飛逝，未能獨領一時風騷，無法像前述三位建立王朝霸業。孫穎莎算是隔代最佳傳人。
4.大錘李曉霞以力道取勝、丁寧以能扛韌性著稱、小棗劉詩雯以速度竄出。進入21世紀(2001~)有點三分天下的局勢(丁寧略久一些)。陳夢算是弱勢接班李曉霞，丁寧尚無適當傳人(勉強早田希娜，但是等級差太多)，平野美宇有點弱化殘缺版劉詩雯風格。

Mima Ito was absolutely fantastic, unrelenting against a world class player.
Ito has better angles and was able to control the pace by absorbing the Zhu's power using her short pips. Brilliant techniques.

ZYL, as other CNT players, relies too much on spin that sacrifices speed, so predictable. Ito only needs to use her BH SP (tricky but legal) to block/punch then smash the weak return (If needed) at lightning speed with little spin that, if blocked, will go short into the net. Over the years, Japan has studied this point and subsequently trained their players as such. Short serves, pushes, loops to their BH is asking for a kill but it's a habit for most players. However, the Chinese will change their strategy to counter. It's like a chess game that takes brain work but needs lightning fast adaptation. Mr. Hou Yingchao (ex CNT, BH SP user, now plays for Canada) has thoroughly dissected this match in another video but you have to know Mandarin for it.

To be honest, Zhu improved. She played much better than how she fared in the Swedish Open.
Well. Zhu was not too bad. The last two sets were both in 2 points. The key is Zhu cann't read (see) Ito's serves. She lost 16 points in 5 games on serve returns.
ZYL never improve her game, soon she will be out of top 10.

Zhu Yuling is old and slow. It's amazing she beat Wang Yidi who has the tools to beat Mima. But you can never tell when 2 Chinese play each other - Wang Yidi should win most of the time against Zhu. Zhu would have fond memories of the 4-0 thrashing she got at the hands of Mima the last time they met.
zhu yuling is the smartest player in china right now. she can beat any Chinese player. Nothing amazing that she had beaten yidi, she can do the same to sunyinsha as well. smart players will always overcome brutes. just like wang hao outplayed malong at his peak. playing against ito is a different ball game though. thats upto zhu to figure out.
