Thanks a lot coach .. I enjoy the video .. looks like her opponent shaw no mercy .. No wonder that Mima Ito becomes one of best players in this sport .. Happy for her achievements
Man. If anyone saw Ai Fukuhara's time with these clowns..... THE BEST ones are with Miu Hirano and Mima Ito DOUBLES against the TV personalities ! :'D Mima crying and Miu giggling and laughing :'D Miu comforts Mima and they have a small discussion on each point :'D very very cute and very very serious! :'D
It drives me mad to see a supposedly adult behaving like this in front of a 5 years old girl. He noticed she was scared by his screams, and continued to act like an idiot clown incapable of compassion. This was irresponsible, and i am even more impressed by her reaction - kicking his ass - while crying. What an inspiration !
I think he is just acting, just to show to Mima that he is not pulling his punches. He is a comedian, and if it's apparent to everyone that he's letting her win from compassion, he is not a comedian.
Oh if he just acting then... It is not about whether he is acting or not, it is about the consequences on a 5 years old little girl. Then both the actor and the prod are responsible for insane management.
Indeed, but that’s not the point. The point is the behavior of this man in front of a child, just for tv purpose. At this age, trying to humiliate a kid in front of everyone can live big scars, even if she wins big medals afterward
@@tawanook8087 The 5-year-old Mima Ito doesn't understand that he is an actor playing around. She is confused and clearly scared by his behaviour. This is no way to treat a child. It's negligent if not outright abusive.
if you are long enough in the world of sports.. a crying losing child is not a cruel sight at all.. it's what pro coaches look for. a champion at heart always cry on a loss. if you dont cry, you don't want it bad enough
She's not 'crying at a loss'. Her crying isn't related to the sport either. She's crying because a frightening-looking man is behaving in a strange, scary way.
Giving away a point is not a good idea. If it were still a game to 21 that might be OK, but winning 11 points in a row is possible even between professional players. Kim Taek-soo did it against Jorgen Persson while trying to make a comeback at the world championships.
Hopefully attitudes in Japan have changed since this event occurred, the ego of a young child is easily scarred, luckily she used this and other humiliations to fuel her become one of to the top players in the world. Our beloved 'Pocket Rocket'.
I dont play kids to upset them , i play more esay to just not be a brutal grown up, i be sad if i made the girl cry but is differnet in Japan maybe , not As we do in Norway 😀
I have been wondering why Mima cried when she heard the yelling. Her mom used to yell at her when her mom trained her playing table tennis? In the video Mima did not look happy.
I don't about anyone else, but I felt it was cruel to make her continue to play with that buffoon after they all saw her distress. They didn't even try to comfort her. Mima was the only mature person there.
Ehh, don't agree with these comments. This is fairly low on the list of cruel things doable to kids, imo. Coddling children is worse and harder for adults to realize until too late.
Nah it's not. Asian culture is different, notice how Japanese kids are a lot more respectful than these western kids? This isn't cruel at all from our perspective, it's basically just them having fun. At the end of the day, there's certainly no "trauma" that Ito has gained from that.
@@pingsunday I was thinking the same, is differente in japan. I think the tv show is like this so she was scared but she DID not want to loose the match aswell. We se 5 year old cry it goes straigt to the heart, but is not too serious realy :-) love all your videos Coach
I agree, this is mainly East Asian culture where they believe the harsher experience kids endure, the stronger they will become even at a young age although I don't agree to this method because it's cruel.
on a side note: This clown acting like a complete jerk was used to be known to go way overboard even by the notorious Japanese standards. He was arrested for an alleged sexual assault on underage girl later on. Such a shame.
She was not crying when 0-2 down or losing points middle of game. Only started crying when that freak of a man started taunting her. Taunting a 5 yr old? Give me a break!!
This video is really disturbing and sad. Why is no one comforting her? It's obviously an extremely disorientating and scary environment, yet the adults continue as if she isn't upset by it. Totally bizarre.
She was not a 5 year old champion but a 5 year old girl who was a future champion. It is cruel to traumatize children in the name of entertainment. Some may be harmed for a long time. In Ito's case, maybe the experience of being bullied by a big bozo helped compel her to excel to dominance.
