    Official Show Announcement:
Toward The Fun(ds): A Concert Benefitting Camp Winnarainbow
On September 29th, Steve Earle hosts an intimate songwriters circle, inviting Emmylou Harris, the Mastersons, and a surprise musical guest to gather in support of Camp Winnarainbow-a circus & performing arts haven for young people, founded in 1975 by Hippie icons Wavy Gravy and Jahanara Romney. Join us in celebrating the transformative role Camp Winnarainbow has played in the lives of generations of young people with this special night of music.
Beyond Steve Earle's prolific recording and songwriting career, the 3-time Grammy winner has produced albums for Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams, published novels & short stories; and acted on screen and stage. Audiences can find Steve touring and hosting his celebrated radio show.
14-time Grammy winner Emmylou Harris' contribution as a singer songwriter spans 40 years and more than 25 albums. Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 2018.
The Mastersons are singer-songwriters/multi-instrumentalists Chris Masterson and Eleanor Whitmore. Longtime members of Steve Earle's band, the married musical twosome make inspired albums of their own humanistic songs.
Toward The Fun(ds) will support Camp Winnarainbow's future providing performing arts education and leadership skills to children.
For over 40 years, kids, teens and adults have run away to join the circus at Camp Winnarainbow in the beautiful hills of Mendocino County. Campers learn performing arts skills like trapeze, juggling, clowning, unicycling, stilt walking, and songwriting. Drawing from a deep well of performing arts education and community building, CWR's talented staff teaches timing, balance, and, as founder Wavy Gravy puts it, "Survival in the 21st century or how to duck with a sense of humor and a dollop of compassion." As well as the goal of BIG FUN, Camp Winnarainbow does everything possible to provide a training ground to nurture leaders for a peaceful, harmonious and sustainable future. Camp Winnarainbow's remarkable scholarship program, The Grace & Joy Scholarship Fund, makes it a haven for economically disadvantaged kids and kids of rockstars alike. "Kids from every walk of life come together and make a kind of a universal whole at Camp. Everybody gets something from each other and we end up being a community together and filled with love. And wonder."
