Mel, if your piggies are for Burma, you'd be better to paint them black than pink. I live in Northern Thailand (18 years now), and most pigs in the border area are black. Pink is not common, although large commercial farms have them. Most of the tribal groups on both sides of the border raise their own pigs. I've never seen a pink one in any of the villages I've visited.

I use a magnifying headset with four swap-able lenses and built in LED, cheap from Boyes stores.
By the way Mel, don't start too much in one go, finish little goals, then it's one less thing to stress over.

Awesome that the BBB will be featured in a magazine! However, pace yourself, prioritize and don’t burn yourself out until the photoshoot!

Those pink pigs are 4mm/ft scale (1/76) for model railways. Good to see them put to another use! After all, pigs come in different sizes. And if you think they're hard to paint, try N scale ones at 2mm/ft (1/148), they will test your eyes!

Dude you can babble all you like, as I am always cleaning up castings for 6mm when your vids are up. Small stuff I have my do all glasses and a magnifying lamp from maplin many years ago, which has a circular bulb in it. That's the main reason I bought it. Don't know if they are still on the internet sales though. When they went pop on the high street I bought all the stock of the spare bulbs got about seven on top of my wardrobe. Good to see ya back mucka, I miss the madness.

Great to have another video from you Mel! Don't feel too much pressure to hold yourself to a video every day, just go for what feels manageable.

Looking forward to seeing the DAS thatch Mel - when we met at Partizan (the Sheffield table) i showed you mine I had done after watching your tutorial. Really pleased with the clay aspect but I'm not sure my choice of Gore Grunta contrast was the best paint effect - looking forward to see what you use.

    Piggie wiggies!
As for how I deal with small things, I just use tiny brushes...and paint over my mistakes. Just keep cracking on and you'll see it come together in time.

The Mel's in the details. Which one is Babe?
I have a magnifying headset. Small stuff gets pinned or super glued (freeze before popping off as the cold makes super glue more brittle).

I take my contacts out and I can see great close up. I got one of those magnifying spectacles on a headband. Now I can go “magnification times 10” drop the lenses down and things are much bigger. One downside is they have a short focal length. I now stick one finger up my nose to brace my hands when painting.

I cant even see my paint jobs with out glasses. I use cheep dollar store glasses 250 for reading and 300 for painting and modeling. for getting rid of glue prints I use mr cement 1027192 in blue cap bottle and for assembly I use mr cement 1027200 in the yellow cap bottle. I have been experimenting with the blue cap stuff for mold lines on plastic model guys ventilation is important
