Thanks for the video. Yours is the fourth one I’ve watched on how to do this, and the only one that showed just flexing out the bottom of the wing instead of disconnecting the top bolts. I know the wing is plastic so it should flex easily right. This will make it so much easier. Yours is also the only video that mentioned there are three pumps if you have the headlight washer which my X5 does.
Totally agree! I have the X3 the reservoir is in engine bay, 1 screw & whole thing lifts out. Just replaced the filters & cleaned gunk out of reservoir 20 min job.
So I post a free video and it doesn't quite give you what you were looking for, yet shows all the steps to access it, again for free. Excellent comment!
@@FourRingsAuto First of all, I've done that job quite easily without even releasing the fender. So thanks for the free video, but no thanks. Don't click-bait viewers. If your title says motor removal, then at the very least viewers should see the motor being removed in the video.
Very nice! I'm surprised I haven't seen another DIY got this yet. I got stuck at the running boards; I didn't know how they were attached and didn't want to pull hard on them.
I'm glad I have the X3 christ what a ball ache just to service/replace pumps etc. 5 min job, 1 screw & whole reservoir comes out on the X3 (located in engine bay)
Where does the pipe for rear washer enter the cabin i think mine has burst as the washer bottle is losing fluid and my drivers footwell carpet is soaking! (RHD) vehicle?? Any help would be appreciated thanks.
E53 pumps sit on top 5 mins. Gotta buy new blind rivets and do a bunch of screwing around. Bmw mechanic here and not pleased with newer bmws. Lotta fn around for sure. For some cheezball pump.
you have a leak probably coming from your door...the membrane inside needs to be replaced never heard of wiper fluid leaking into car...also clear your water drains
The reason I m watching this video cuz my x6 one failed I'm I'm like if I try myself I will light the car on fire if I get stuck in the middle of it. 🤣
When I start to remove the top bolt here ua-cam.com/video/Be8-Jwi3BZc/v-deo.html I heard something pop and the bolt just hang there. I cannot loosen it or tighten it up anymore. Can you let me know you removed these bolts behind the fender next to the door (6 second mark in your video). Thanks!
😂😂😂😂need remove just wheel and mad flap not more you are started mechanic in BMW...you kill very more time this work is for max 20 min😂😂go back to bicycle you are not for BMW😂😂
All that for a washer bottle pump .. this is why I left the trade.... Yet still finding myself doing it.
Thanks for the video mate.

Curses at the BMW engineers for putting these pumps in such inaccessible locations!
they are not stupid they engineer these cars to be take back to the dealer

Like everything else on them
So true
So you post a video of the washer pump removal, without actually showing the removal of the pump. Excellent tutorial!

You did it easily yet still watched a youtube video? And you couldn't figure out how the pump comes out?
Agreed completely wasted my time.
I prefer to clean the windshield by hand for my whole life rather than removing all those panels to fix the pumps!
Hahaha yep i can understand that.
True. Mine is not throwing water to my windshield, I won't even bother to check if the pump is damaged. I'll just clean it mysalf with a towel.

Thanks. The job can look overwhelming, but it's not hard really getting it stripped down, and this way prevents unnecessary damage.
Very much appreciated for the video you made. Can you list all the tools needed for this Job. Thanks
I'm glad I have the X3 christ what a ball ache just to service/replace pumps etc.

I agree, the e53 had an ideal washer pump location.
Are the all 3 pumps the same? or they are different?
Thanks, this information was very helpful
This is a lot harder then u make it look
Give me an E53 X5 washer bottle any day. 2 minutes....out.
Great info
I'm getting leaks in drivers floor mat, and I think its hose to rear windscreen washer, need to disconnect pump. Is there any other way? Fuse box?
you have a leak probably coming from your door...the membrane inside needs to be replaced never heard of wiper fluid leaking into car...also clear your water drains
Too much work for that little problem
is it on the BMW X6 similar?
Same
The reason I m watching this video cuz my x6 one failed I'm I'm like if I try myself I will light the car on fire if I get stuck in the middle of it. 🤣
Thank you !
No problem!
Just had to do this on my 1 year old i3 today, same problem but easy fix. Could do it in 5 minutes now. If anyone needs advice send me a message.
u can not do this in 5 minutes stop it...this an x5 takes more than a hr at least
Hi. Can you tell me how fix it? Thanks

Yes i removed the bolts. I can only think that when you loosened the bolt, the metal clip with the threads in has dropped or something similar.
Not showing how to remove the pumps or filter!
