it comes in a 2+1 configuration because it’s a “hunting” shotgun if you want the full benefit of a 5+1 you must remove the plug...doing so changes this to a “tactical” shotgun
Update: I did see the the plug in diagram of gun but no mention of how to remove it for more capacity in manual. I did contact Ata and with a very quick response they sent me a video of how to remove it.
I just purchased this gun. The color and look caught my attention. Read the reviews and decided to buy it. Already added a red/green dot with laser. Waiting on a light for the bottom rail. Great video!! Now I can’t wait to shoot it!!
I sold mines. It’s trash. The choke was loose after a few shots. It’s also sooo painful to hear when you pump it to chamber a new round. You have to pump it real hard sometimes in order to chamber another shell which leads to damaging the metal ejector. Oh, not to mention the plastic pistol grip hurts so dang bad when you shoot as well. I sold this thing and got a maverick 88. About the same price and there’s more aftermarket accessories for it too.
Great little truck gun or home defense gun. Does kick like a mule with the 3 inch magnums shooting slugs and OO. For the price though it’s a great shotgun for just home defense or playing on the range. I preferred it to the maverick shotgun.
On the stock there is a slot and a quick detach hole for a sling. For the front there is a couple of options. Go to "Shoot on" How to sling up your shotgun.
I just looked up a scope on Amazon and it says it will fit picatinny or weaver rails. So the only thing you should worry about is the length of the scope rings or mount of the scope. I have 1 scope and it only needs 3 inches to mount on any picatinny rail. The rail on the ATA arms is 3 and a half inches. So my scope would work on it. I hope this info is helpful. Good luck.
I did some research and found "Shotgun world forum". Beretta/Benelli Mobil chokes is what someone confirmed. You can also reach out to Ata arms on there website. I had a question and they were quick to respond.
Just picked mine up this morning. First gun I’ve bought/owned, haven’t shot yet but plan on going to the skeet range very soon. Also, when I was buying mine, the man behind the counter told me you have to push this little switch on the left hand side in before you can pump it. However, my switch only pops out after I pump it. Did I just hear him wrong or is that a malfunction?
@@Scott67 One more question... lol. Does your pump slide have a bit of a wobble to it or do I need to go in and tighten something up? About to go to the range and don't want any malfunctions.
Once the first shell has been fired you never have to push that button again until you reload. If your just playing with it trying to pump the shotgun without firing a live round you will have to press the button every time. If you have to that actually shooting there may be a issue with the gun.
So I'm buying one for my wife for defense when I am away. What ammo would you recommend for a first time user? I keep reading buck shot, but the target rounds seemed to do enough damage as well. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
For me, if any gun was pointed at me I'm going the other way. But, that's not everyone. This is hard as the answer for each person is different depending on a few things. For example, I used buckshot at the range and shot thru the metal pan at 20 yards. If I do that at my home, chances are I'm going to shoot the intruder and my neighbor on the other side of the wall. My short answer is look for a low recoil home defense buckshot 2 3/4 inch shells. I do recommend watching a lot of home defense video's. One video is going to be more helpful than others depending on your scenario. Let me know what you get and good luck.
@@Scott67 that's fair. I've been looking for a shotgun that runs pretty good and came across this. The half shells I was just curious with the low capacity but also how the shells react.

Anyone wondering it does hold 4+1 once you take the shell plug out. Literally took me 10 minutes to take out… got this for $100 because “it only holds 2+1” 😉😉
So I bought mine exclusively for running slugs/slug-shot loads... Using the ghost-ring/fiber optic sights, and 1oz rifled Remington Slugger, I put 40 slugs through it with zero failures. This was the one and only occasion that I took it to the range. But I sure had fun gauging it's capability. If memory serves me correctly, I believe I was (eventually) reliably getting all my shots into about a 10-12 inch circle at 50 yards. I couldn't tell you if that's good or bad. But it feels like it sucks when you consider it was done from a well supported prone-position using basic Army marksmanship techniques(the goal being to zero the weapon for 50 yards or so). (For added context, I aint the best shooter in the Army. Far from it. But I qualify with my rifle every year without any assistance or pencil-whipping. And that's more than many can say.) I feel like in my mind, I was hoping for something a little better with this gun, but eventually decided that I had overestimated what a 18-inch barrel, with a mere cylinder-bore is capable of at 50 yards. Maybe I'm dead wrong. It's the first time I've made such outrageous claims as I'm about to make without seeing what other folks are saying... but my opinion is: It ain't hard for a shooter to be more accurate than this shotgun at 50 yards and no choke.
