It's honestly just great fun to play an RTS again. It's been so long since the last good one. I think with a few changes to the balancing (some of which we did ourselves) this game could really be a stand out.

the fact that you "win" in defcon doing the most amount of kills always got me
I never got that from defcon as I often managed to avoid more then 5 mil dead

Worst then DEFCON though.
DEFCON was cold and Kinda horrifying this game while in the same genre feels happier, While DEFCON is just so detached it leaves you scared.

@@caseywensnahan3543 A cudgel is a blunt weapon. In the context of what I said, DEFCON is just beating people over the head with emotions.
A more modern take on DEFCON. Pretty nice, but it isn't quite the same as the depressing 80s aesthetic combined with music and sound design of utter dread and suffering.
Yeah DEFCON has its own dark charm, even if this new game is out.
Personally I think DEFCON looks a lot nicer.
Ngl DEFCON is the best horror game I have ever played
Yee Man this Game has potential but they either need to improve the graphics or stylize them more. Also sound design is crap compared to DEFCON.

Loving the "War plan" system in this, so fun clicking a button and saying " WARPLAN ALPHA IS GO!"
If DEFCON had war plans then it would be perfect. I still like DEFCON more because of the atmosphere and the dread u feel from the music and background sounds and DEFCON is more competitive and balanced

This reminds me of DEFCON but without the *suffocatingly depressing vibes you get* and with a more modern interface, damn.

I give ICBM credit, they tried something new and not 100% copy of DEFCON. But nothing beats DEFCON.
I agree with you here. But if I only can choose one, ICBM will provide a much better gameplay experience.
The research option and additional assets like mobile launchers and spy sats are a nice addition though.

More like 5th, 6th....you know what, I've lost count.
I don't quite like how nukes fly here. in DEFCON they arched slowly and menacingly, and here they just go YEEEEEET-BOOM. But the games does look fun.
The speed of those nukes probably reached the speed of light, might as well throw a rock at the speed of light.
This game has realistic nuke speeds.
Nukes travel at speeds upwards and exceeding 6 kilometers per second. This means if time is sped up, they will graphically be absurdly fast.
In DEFCON they travel slightly faster than an airplane.
What a way to open the video: "EXECUTE ARMAGEDDON!" Truly tells the views what they're in for today.

Have you ever seen the game "Defcon: Everybody Dies"? It's a lot more similar to ICBM in terms of mechanics than First Strike, but is significantly simpler.

Defcon captured the theme best with its neon world map, you're much more detached from the impending apocalypse there than here.
