My son plays Lego Castaway on the Apple TV. After 40 minutes Apple TV starts to get very hot and the game starts to stutter. So I put a fan on to cool it 😂
@@bowlofspiders - Considering the AppleTV has no user access to the file system, it would all depend on where RetroArch puts the save files. Maybe you can adjust that location in the app, but I doubt it. Maybe we'll get a file manager like iOS for the AppleTV.
We need an Apple TV 4K Pro model with a M1 chip and more storage. The Pro model should come with the fan. The base model could come with less storage no fan and the new A18 chip.
Thanks for the tutorial! Everything seems to work great, except for the lag. I’ve paired my Xbox controller and it seems pretty responsive in the UI menu, but when playing any game there’s like a full second or two of lag. Any settings I can change to make that more responsive? The only thing I changed was audio from low quality to normal. Frame-rates seem to be nice and smooth, but just huge input latency. Thanks if anyone can help! :)
The idea of playing retro games on apple tv is very nice, but any game that requires any kind of reaction time is essentially unplayable due to the bluetooth only connection that apple tv offers, apple needs to put just one single usb at least for me to use it for gaming.

Just downloaded that app on my appleTV. Same 1.19.1 version, but the UI is nothing like what is shown in your video. There’s only one game, under the Countless Cores side menu - 2048. :-/

it doesn't come with games. You have to download and install them. Also, the UI he's using is not the default UI. You need to go into the setting to enable the UI he's using.
This I dope af I was playing all these on my iPad with delta and retroarch but airplaying to my tv from iPad had lag so I couldn’t play on the big screen and now I can. Thanks man

The Apple TV would be a dream if it had persistent apps.. Every 3-5 days it will whipe the cache automatically deleting your savefiles etc.
Is this true?

@@bowlofspiders yeah. It's why I don't even bother
Also lacking the ability to play MAME games.
@@lonster3000 can the Apple TV install Delta? That’s an IOS app that runs MAME games
Wow, Thank you 🙏
Im now playing Half Life 2 after many years again 🙌, but now on my tv 😀🥰🥰,
Best Regards from Sweden
You didn’t show how you got all the Roms to transfer to the new created folder. Can you share where you got them from?
Can we get delta as well ?

The price needed to give that would be a waste. Just buy a used m1 Mac mini for a few hundred bucks and hook it up to your tv
@@chrisryan8894 but how can we control it with a remote ? m1 mac mini still uses macOS and not TV os.
Or just buy a console
@ there’s an app for that 👍. Lots of them actually

The 128gb Apple TV has an Ethernet port. The cheaper one doesn’t. Looking forward to playing some Super Mario Brothers.
Oh buddy thanks so much. Funny enough I didn’t even know you could double tap the TV button to bring up a the app switcher
Hi, where do I get the games for the emulator?
Google it on a good VPN
Yes i want to know the same question
How to install without the games files?😢
You have to figure that out on your own. No UA-camr is going to tell you. That’s why there’s Google.

Great advice. Thank very much 👍
