Teddy Ruxpin was a toy from the 80s, he was a bear that had a tape player in his back and would read back from a story that was on an audio cassette. He had a buddy named " Grubby" and you could hook them together and they would both respond to the tape.
As a nerd and a fan of both Star Trek and The Tick, I love the idea of Michael Dorn and Patrick Warburton showing up at Comic-Con just to bully nerds, while dressed as Worf and The Tick respectively. 😂
I remember taking my mom (who was 62 at the time) to see the first Ted in theaters and I was absolutely surprised how hard she was laughing at this movie. I mean both scenes of Ted talking to the grocery store manager and saying some of the most obscene things she had ever heard made her laugh helplessly.🤣🤣 I just hope you guys go all the way and watch the whole Ted tv series.🤞🤞
I remember watching the 2nd one in theaters and laughing do hard at the "No problem we're a fun hospital" that people legitimately started laughing more with me then the joke which already had a really good laugh but ny literally dying caused for an even bigger one
6:35 Tom Skerritt was the actor who played Captain Dallas in Ridley Scott's 'Alien' (1979) and he's been in tons of movies including 'The Dead Zone' with Christopher Walken, 'Top Gun' with Tom Cruise, 'A River Runs Through It' with Brad Pitt, and on and on. The more you know... :)
Seth MacFarlane also made a spoof Western: A Million Ways To Die In The Old West w lotsa great people, including Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown back in 1885 with DeLorean in a barn.😂 Hilarious!
I was born in '91 as well.. I'll be 33 on Thursday the 25th on Jan.. i caught almost every 80's and 90's reference in both films.. these 2 are 2 of my favorite comedy films made in resent history.. great reactions..
Teddy Ruxpin was a popular teddy bear in the 80s. He had a cassette player inside him. You'd put a tape in him and his mouth would move as he read you a story. I had one when I was little. I remember putting music tapes in him and being disappointed that he didn't mouth along to the music.
The reason it's "human" instead of "person" is because the law bases legal personhood on being human. Basically, if the court declared him a person but not a human, a bunch of other laws would have to be re-written to accommodate a broader understanding of personhood. But if they just declare Ted to be a human, then nothing else needs to be changed and no one has to put in any more work on the issue.
I wanted to scream through my phone screen at them that it’s not that simple. You can’t just declared him a person and not a human he still would not under the law enjoy all the rights and privileges of a human being because in legal documents a person is defined as a human. Laws would have to be rewritten. Alot!
Random thing. I was almost classmates with Seth McFarlane. He went to RISD for animation and I was going to go there for animation at the same time but ended up picking a local school.
Funny comedies you could watch: 1. Role Models (Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott) 2, Shanghai Noon (Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson) 3. Tropic Thunder (Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Tom Cruise) 4. Due Date (Zach Galifianakis, Robert Downey Jr)
The whole car scene with Ted driving to “Mess Around” is a reference to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Not sure if you seen it but Steve Martin and John Candy absolutely kill it as the leads. It’s a great thanksgiving movie and very funny
I went to a Tom Papa show in D.C. and I was the youngest in the audience so for about 15 minutes I got life advice from him. One of the funniest moments of my life.
Rumor has it, Mila Kunis didn't do Ted 2 because she was pregnant, and the original story was too similar to a recently released movie, We're the Millers (Where group goes on road trip to smuggle weed). Amanda Seyfried and Liam Nieson were in another Seth Mcfarlane movie: One Million Ways to Die in the West. It's a Western Comedy Ala McFarlane's usual style. Some people didn't care for it, but I loved it. Charlize Theron is amazing in it.
24:57 watched Ted in the cinema, and continuously laughed for minutes watching & remembering this scene. Come on, Tiffany's "I think I'm alone now" so weird. Hahahaha.
Which is wild, considering how much of a beast Thornton was with fights. My favorite athlete to put on skates for the Bruins, partially saying that because Cam Neely was before my time
The Ted tv show on Peacock that just released is fantastic and doesn’t pull any punches like the movie. Seth Mcfarlene did it again. I hope you two check that out when a spot opens up.
@@dustnbones0013 a lot of the same humor. Definitely give it a shot, I’m confident people will enjoy it. Reminds me a lot of family guy episodes in the style/theme of the show
It was funny that Patrick Warburton was dressed as the Tick which he was in the 01 live action series that was canceled, and his boyfriend Michael Dorn (Battle Beast) was dressed as his character Worf fron Star Trek The Next Generation with Patrick Stewart, and Star Trek Deep Space 9 with Nana Visitor who was the adoption agent.
this movie pay homage to every peoples who kept their childhood toys in their house even after we grew older.... in fact, Ted character was based of Seth Macfarlane childhood toy... kept that toys after all years was truly act of Love🥺👍
The point in an artist sticking to the genre references they grew up with is to encourage newer generations to look up and appreciate the art that brought us here in the first place! 😀
26:33 Every time I hear the name “Susan Boyle” I think of her unfortunate hashtag. She was releasing an album and they used a hashtag that was meant to be #SusanAlbumParty but they didn’t capitalize! So it looked like #susanalbumparty if you don’t notice people started reading it #SusAnalBumParty! 😆😂🤣
The Target audience for the Ted movies are adults born around time of Seth MacFarlane's birth. They still make it appeal to all ages, but like most things, you can't really target every demographic, or you dilute the vision. So for him, it's Gen X'ers.
Random fact I got put up on a billboard in Boston for the children's museum. I was on vacation and the staff approached me after watching me repeatedly/intentionally crashing into stuff on a boat simulator. I was 8 on vacation from KC and it was 96.
She was 2.4 seconds away from crying @ 1:04:22 even though she knew the whole time that he was still alive. This was a great reaction to 2 great movies. Seth McFarland is comedic genius. I think Ted 2 is is better, like Empire is better than A New Hope. It just extends the greatness from the first movie.
Fun fact: the guy who rushed the stage during the concert was Shawn Thornton. Thornton played for the Boston Bruins and was the tough guy who got in fights all the time.
“He’s more of a person than lots of other people, I mean, fucking Stephen Tyler, what the fuck is that? Some weird soccer mom looking Goonie monster?” That line has me friggin’ dying!
The unrated opening is so much funnier lmao, the bullies only pick on the jewelry kid lmao And says the best line, "guess what I'm getting Jesus for his birthday"
58:45 the dude dressed as the Tick actually played the Tick in the live action Tick and the dude dressed as Worf from Star Trek is the actor who played Worf in Star Trek.

A Teddy Rukspin was a bear that you would put a cassette tape into, and he would dance. I got one when I was about 5. They were a major Christmas toy of that year.

It was awesome to put an ozzy tape in teddy
“There are no chicks with dicks, Johnny only guys with tits!!!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The best part of both movies haha
If only Seth could have gotten Mark Hamill cosplaying as either Luke Skywalker, The Joker, or Cockknocker. That would have been awesome.

Modern classic comedies, Seth Macfarlane struck gold on these movies
I’d agree on the first. I know no one who has ever admitted to seeing the second
@@DirtnapJack I've seen the 2nd

Ted & Ted 2 are my top favorite comedy. Plus these movies are on my “Get To Know My Sense of Humor” list 😂😂
That laugh after that Superman joke was honestly the best. I love you guys and your connection. One of my favorites ❤❤
