I have had the fortune and pleasure (and displeasure sadly) of driving some very rare cars....
1964 Ford Mustang with the 351 Windsor engine - lots of power, not much on control, somewhat fun but a hassle. I personally would not own one. I drove the car for 1 week and put a few hundred miles on it, so this is where my impression came from.
1969 Corvette Stingray - talk about raw power, this car is pretty much sex & hell on wheels, it's an infernal deathtrap in a collision but the lines are just gorgeous and the power is fantastic. The only downside I have seen from the car was the fact parts just kept breaking, and apparently it was a common issue for the older Stingray's. I drove this car for 5 days and put about 100 miles on it, I would take the Stingray over the 64 Mustang easily, but due to the amount of maintenance this car requires I would not own one if I could only own 1 car.
1981 BMW M1 Procar - *DISCLAIMER* I DID NOT DRIVE THIS CAR I WAS A PASSENGER. This car is an interesting one, definitely one for a show room, its ride is MEH to be honest, its power is decent, but its oddity and rarity makes it collectable. Parts are virtually non-existent and have to be fabricated according to the owner, I would not own one due to the downsides listed above.
1993 Pontiac Sunbird - This was MY first owned car, I was 16 and it was 2007, no power locks or windows, no cruise control, but it did have A/C, and as a birthday gift my father had a CD player installed. The car was somewhat reliable at 40K miles, but it had all of about 100 horsepower and looked ugly as sin, but it was my car. That car got wrecked (my fault) as I entered traffic on someone else waving me in across a lane, it was totaled. I put about 30K miles on the car, it was rather uninspiring, but I liked it as it was my first car and it was teenage freedom, looking back I would not own one again.
1995 Toyota Camry - This was my replacement car to my first one, and a MAJOR upgrade in every way, I LOVED this car. I would gladly own another Camry if presented with one that meets my requirements, absolutely fantastic cars. This car had the transmission go at 130K miles, my father then offered to either fix it or go with a newer car that he purchased from an estate sale, I took the newer car and regretted it, I put 60K miles on this car, what an excellent budget car it was.
2002 Dodge Stratus SE (2.7L V6) - This ****ing car.... GOD DO I HATE THIS ****ING CAR. This car represents the failure of the US Automotive industry, STAY THE **** AWAY FROM THIS CAR AND THAT TERRIBLE 2.7L V6 engine. Nothing but problem after problem after problem, after problem. It fell apart like cheap dry piece of plastic. The engine power was quite good, it will get up and move when you tell it to, but it will also fall apart on you and the sludge problems despite using Valvoline Full Synthetic and a full synthetic filter were still present, its rightfully earned the name "sludge monster engine". I drove this POS car for 50K miles, and I am glad to be rid of it.
2002 Pontiac Firebird WS6 SLP - A friend let me drive this car for a short bit with him in the passenger seat. This car when it's working (he complained about replacing parts on a constant basis) is an absolute BEAST. About as much if not more felt power than the 69 Stingray, this car is just fun to drive, and it looks like it's going on a murderous rampage, and that SLP exhaust sound was just pure music. This car sold me on Firebirds as my favorite domestic (I am from the USA) car, repair costs aside, if I could own an SLP Firebird or even better and SLP Firehawk I would. I drove the car for 30 miles from the country to the city with highway driving in between.
2008 Infiniti G37 - I had a few opportunities to drive this car, it's sporty but cramped (I think the 02 Firebird felt more spacious than the G37), the interior was nice, but it handled like it wanted to drive the car for you and fought over your control at any chance it got. I was not impressed with this car at all, and neither was the owner (a friend of my father), he finished his lease and sold the car back to the dealer, ended up with a new 2017 Toyota Camry XSE V6 with the Camry Premier Silver Package and Technology Package (I have yet to drive it or ride in it). He absolutely loves the car and says it's definitely an upgrade from his Infiniti G37.
2010 Audi A4 2.0T - This was my father's car for a year (another estate buyout), I liked the performance, and the ride was nice, but my father hated it, and it has some reliability issues and the cost to fix is just nuts. I would not want to own one due to the repair costs alone; I drove this car for about 500 miles.
2014 Mercedes Benz C300 - This is my father's current sedan, and its ride and power are fantastic, pure quality. However there are plenty of things I do not like about the car. At only 42,500 miles it has loose parts in the car that creak and rattle, and with the interior being so quiet on the road it can get annoying quickly. The car's acceleration from 0-60 is quite good for a heavy sedan, and it gets to 80 MPH well, but hitting that 100 MPH mark it starts to struggle and for one lane passing where it needs to be done quickly as to lessen the chances of a head on collision on back roads, it left me unimpressed. The sound system is decent, A/C controls are fantastic if not uninspired, and the car feels cramped for being a large sedan, seriously I think my Camry had more interior room. Handling in the car is tight, it's fairly fun to drive but in the end, when the maintenance/repair bills come in I would not own one, I have seen the bills, NOPE. I have currently driven 1,200 miles in this car, it's a good car but ultimately left me mildly impressed, I do like it more than the Audi though.
My current car (upgraded from the 02 Dodge POS) - 1992 Lexus LS400 with 87,400 miles... yeah I said it, a 10 year older car than my 02 Dodge Stratus and it's clearly an upgrade. This car's engineering borders on the obsessive. It's a quiet on the highway as my fathers 2014 Mercedes, and when Overdrive is off and ECT is on PWR mode, that 4.0L V8 will put you into that seat, I was/am impressed. The car is currently having electrical issues (minor) and I am having it fixed, but its a 25 year old car, and it still drives better than 85% of most modern cars. I am having the Nakamichi sound system ripped out (minus the stock 220W AMP and 8 inch sub (yes it came with that STOCK in 92), and am replacing it with JBL GTO Component and Coaxial speakers with a Kenwood 900W 4 channel AMP, and a Kenwood 6.9 inch touchscreen multimedia display with HD radio, XM, Qualcomm Bluetooth, Garmin Navigation, HD Audio processing, Android Auto, and Pandora link. I have replaced the stock lights with all Philips Crystal Vision Ultra bulbs for whiter & brighter lights like most modern luxury sedans have. I have plans for aftermarket sport type sway bars (front & rear) as well as front & rear strut tower braces to help the car handle better in turns (I am NOT turning this into a "performance sedan"), I just want it to handle corners better than a barge would. As I said the car handles like a barge, it's clearly not designed for high speed cornering, but more for ride comfort across multiple surface types. It's probably one of the smoothest cars I have ever driven, and is not even in the same Universe as my 02 POS Dodge. I plan on keeping this car until around 180K - 200K miles or 6-8 years, and this car's reputation precedes it well, I do not know of any other car that is 25 years old that outclasses most modern cars on the road today, do you?

Dude my 2002 Lexus LS has 240k and still going with a very low maintenance bill...now Find a 2002 S-class Merc or even an E- Class that's even close to that comparison in 2017!
lol I seen a couple of Mercedes on the side of the road with the hood up. My old friend owns 2 and says they are a big headache, he is only addicted to the logo. You can buy a 2010 Sclass s65 for 10k, from a previous price of 200k.. Are you kidding me? Don't get me wrong, the AMG series is to die for but I would get a lexus GS F over a AMG any day. Yes the s63 and even the standard S class is the best looking, smooth, and technologically advanced car out probably with the whole digital dash and neon interior lights but for longevity, I will still get a Lexus. Own Maybe I would lease a S class but with its stupid depreciation I would never buy one out right.

I love Lexus. They're definitely my family's favorite. My first car was an RX and after I drove that for several years I ended up getting another. 10/10 would recommend.

Lexus may not have the luxury reputation as Mercedes, but just because I can afford a Mercedes doesn't mean I want to deal with the constant reliability headaches that comes with these German cars. Even if "Oh but you have the money to own it, so you have the money to maintain it." It's not the point! Even if the vehicle is under warranty I have to constantly take time out of my life to take the bastard car to the shop because the stupid car constantly has a problem. That in itself is an extreme annoyance. And THAT is why you see people like celebrities or even doctors and lawyers, etc., with Lexus. Some people want a badge, but other people want a no nonsense car.

Its all about the badge and image. I knew a guy in college who had a BMW. He constantly complained and complained about how it was a money pit and how his radio stopped working, his powered seats stopped working and so on so forth. About a year later, he replaced it with a new BMW. So I said to him "dude. Didn't that car give you problems? Why did you buy another BMW if you complained so much about it?" And he just couldn't give me an answer. "Oh but maybe this new one won't give me so many problems." I just nodded and walked away. That is what I call buying a badge. Not a car.

George David he meant in terms of reliability. I’ve rode on dozens of benzs since I was born, and they could hardly cope with the Indonesian climate and geographic condition. Porsche and Land Rover couldn’t even survive the country roads, but Lexus that car is one of the strongest out there.

Have been a Lexus owner for the last 6 years, I had nothing to complain and will continue to be a loyal customer. Lexus does not offer much choice in options compare to its European competitions down here in Australia, they just put them in to 3 different packages "luxury"(standard), "F-Sport" or "Sport Luxury". Some ppl hate it, I love it. Instead of trying to figure out what to choose and what is worth to have, Lexus just makes it easier for car owners when it comes to pick options. I drive a 2016 RX350 F-Sport and it turns head everyday.
Toyota give you guys some cool choices though, you remember the TRD Aurion 3500SL ? We didn't get that here in the States :-(

Best cars in the world. I don't care what the German badgewhores say. They breakdown all the time after a certain amount of use. They're lease machines. Lexus NEVER has those issues. Bulletproof vehicles!
As a german, I only drive lexus and got my mother a toyota. The garbage from our german brands is just a ripoff with engineering determined to make cars as cheaply as possible and maximize the profit margin.

thesemfnnutts true! They have great customer service, every time I call them to make an appointment the first thing they ask me is do I want a rental for a few hours or less to run my errands.. I’m usually in and out with my rental car in about 15 minutes!

thesemfnnutts I know I’m late to this, but that is true! I went to a Lexus dealership recently and was treated very well! They took the time to walk the lot with me and discuss different kinds of deals and cars. I also went to Land Rover the same day and the customer service there was horrible. Customer service plays a huge part when it comes to purchasing a car.
I was always a BMW enthusiast. Once I test drove a Lexus RX, I became immediately hooked! I bought a new RX 450h two years ago. The smooth, quiet ride, awesome sound system, and amazing reliability record make me a Lexus owner for life.
We have a 2018 Toyota Sienna and it blows our old (but beautiful) E39 outta the water like now tomorrow.
@@alpaljl We have a 2013 Sienna, we bought new. It has 193k miles on it now. I had never bought new before. Was against, but we just bought a new Highlander for my wife. That is how good that Sienna was, just sold me on new is ok if it lasts forever. Looking to get me a used Lexus 350 (IS, ES or GS) for daily driving. Leaning IS because I want to be reliable and fun.

Pretty well made cars from Lexus. I have had many German luxury cars and my wife used a Lexus as her daily vehicle. It has been quite reliable so far for last 12 yrs period. 🦅🦅🇺🇸

Lexus only for me . Incredible quality and the realistic reliability of my wife's Rx,and my ls430 have been unbelievable. My car is 12yrs old and still has the power of a new car plus still rides ride like a new car.

11 is misleading. "Lexus sold its first car in Japan in 2005". Yes, all they did was changed the badge from Toyota to Lexus. All Lexus models were sold under Toyota brand before 2005.
Lexus LS = Toyota Celsior
Lexus GS = Toyota Aristo
Lexus IS = Toyota Altezza
They switched the name, not the car. They were redesigned after 2005 if that's what you meant.
Are you from the U.S.? I'm pretty sure the Lexus LS430 was exactly the same car as the Toyota Celsior in Japan. This car was redesigned in 2005 and became the LS460. Also, some brands like Acura and Infiniti don't exist in Japan. They are sold under Honda and Nissan brand, but are exactly the same cars.
Actually, there are Toyota models in Japan that still use Lexus parts. For example, the Toyota Majesta uses the LS460's engine. The Toyota Crown shares the layout with the newer GS. The Land Cruiser shares almost all of its parts with the LX.
I mentioned the LS and GS which still share parts with Toyota. I don't know what we are arguing here lol
Therefore 2005 "is" Lexus first time gaining independence in Japan from Toyota. That is how Lexus sold its first car in Japan in 2005. 11 isn't a wee bit misleading. You're just not thinking how words can be played out.

The sheer experience of driving a Lexus is second to none. I honestly look forward to the drive sometimes more than the destination, you feel like an absolute queen in it. No sound from the engine, beautiful leather interior, and a head turner for sure. I’ve ridden in my friends Mercedes a lot and it’s incomparable to a Lexus.

SamoJa same here... and of the line I can see most of the new turboed pieces of German shit at the traffic lights. Even fewer can keep up on the motorway... And so far I haven’t only seen a Bugatti on the hard shoulder flashing hazard lights... This thing is bulletproof... if I can’t kill it, virtually nothing can. Still get an odd compliment about its looks too... doesn’t look as dated as the BMW and Mercedes of same age, creature comfort is 2012 upper class vehicle, for less than 2k£... Makes me laugh at ppl driving brand new 15-18k£ Cora’s and Fiesta’s

used to have one aswell, never failed me! only thing i can complain about it really was the slight issue with rust protection but aside from that it was a great car. easy to fall asleep in the backseat aswell ^^
i had 2001 is300 with 380000km,i change it for 2014 is 250 bcos I need awd still own it till now.
After weeks of deliberation I have gone for the Lexus NX 300h over the Mercedes GLC. Collecting October 2020. Looks alone smashed it out of the ball park, plus the hybrid tech was another great reason to purchase. One happy UK customer indeed

My wife always wanted a Lexus RX. We got one at a great deal in 2008 and now we are on our second one. Other than oil and brakes, we only had one repair on the first one. The car is outstanding in many ways but I find one of the greatest options is it runs on 87 octane. No need for High Test! That is a great money saver in it self!
I have a Lexus ES 350 I love it! Nothing on the road comes close!

I've got a 2012 ct200h f sport. It's my first lexus and love it to death. When I found out they stopped selling it because it was the most hated lexus with terrible sales it made me wonder how much better the other models were. I never understood brand loyalty until I drove a lexus.
Love Lexus ... just made a purchase for a NX 200T F Sport very loaded as a start and saw the LC 500 ... wow. Love both. And then I now saw the LFA!! Oo la la!!
I wouldn't sell any other car! best ever made hands down!! there is such attention to detail put in these cars.... just cant say enough about them.
The LS500H would be my go-to Lexus. Hands down one of the best looking cars inside and out. Lexus has no competition but people stuck in their cult followings lol. From the outside looking in, they've got incredible bang for the buck when pitted against the others. Infiniti and Acura need to catch up to their fellow Japanese giant
family owns 3 lexsus, es350 es300 and nx200t f sport (mine :) ) . Reliability at its finest, the es350 2007 model still works till this day, nothing wrong and still proves to be a good ride, no leakage and low cost for maintenance. I personally would rate this brand 9/10, -1 for the lack of better engine for this brand.

Next month I will have had my 1998 LS400 for 19 years. Everything works well and it's still a joy to drive. It replaced the most famous German brand which were exceptionally unreliable vehicles despite excellent maintenance. As yet I have found no compelling reasons to replace the Lexus. An acquaintance had a Bentley built for himself but it wound up spending more time in the repair shop than on the road. He replaced it with a Lexus and, like me, has never looked back.
I am in love with the 2017 Lx570 and rx450h.

I've been a Lexus owner from 1999. All LS models. I've driven the others but, for a well built dependable car that is very comfortable to drive. there is nothing like it in the world. I just wish the budget permitted me to buy a new one but, I still passionately love my LS460L and desire nothing else for my day to day car.

Lexus makes great cars. I have a 2016 Lexus IS 300h. And when we bought it we got the best service we ever had. I have had Rover's and toyota's and mitsubishi's. But lexus is definitely the best one i have had. Brilliant cars:-)

Lexus is the best. I'm a old fan of Toyota for its reliability as my late father did. Them i bought a Lexus Is 250 and omg i couldn't believe i had that used car for 8 years and not a single time that car had any issues. I sold it and now im going to buy a Es 350h. Lexus is beauty with loyalty.

I drive a Lexus CT200H and even though its kind of their base hybrid model, it is brilliant, the build quality and ride are both amazing and even though reviews state it as slow, I feel its got nice acceleration and a good amount of power even without sport mode on. The leather seats are silky soft and there is even leather around other parts of the cabin giving a luxury feel. I have literaly driven all the usual luxury brands and Lexus is now my choice, after 30 + years of driving and being in my late 40s now, I really do feel like I have found my brand. I will probably now drive Lexus way into my old age as long as they are still around, which i'm sure they will be.... oh and to top it all off, the Mark Levinson audio with like 12 + speakers is just brilliant, treat yourself, its well worth it ...
