- Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer and songwriter. Referred to as the "Songbird Supreme" by the Guinness World Records, she is noted for her five-octave vocal range, vocal power, melismatic style, and signature use of the whistle register. Her first two albums 'Mariah Carey' and Emotions spawned no less than 5 consecutive # 1 Billboard hits in the USA , a record not been broken by any artist.
Following her marriage to Sony Music head Tommy Mottola, Carey became the label's highest-selling act with the follow-up album Music Box in 1993, her third studio album.
It was released by Columbia Records on August 31, 1993, in North America. The album comprises ballads primarily co-written by Carey and Walter Afanasieff, with whom she had previously worked on Emotions.
'Dreamlover is one of the hits from that album.
This live recording was made during the AVRO Television recording and live broadcast 'Grand Gala du Disc' on 29 September 1993.
She also recorded the track 'Hero'' on that same gala.

I feel a lot of Mariah Carey fans are delusional and comment on videos saying what they are hearing is what she is singing when it's not. But this video is definitely the exception, the voice we hear is her singing in this video. Great performance.
