Ive remembered having since 1970 ( I was 3 ), constant double vision 24/7. I was only exotropia but after my first surgery now I am also esotropia... 12 dioptors out 4 diotors in... Prisims never worked and now good left eye is strained ( since 2012 ), so I patch left good eye as needed, finally got diagnosed in 2012 with 3rd cranial nerve palsy. Doc told me at this point in time nothing more can be done.... On the examples dr Julie showed seem more like blurry vision, example when I used to drive I'd see a fork on the road ahead, should I take a left or a right!!! But it is the exact same road, one on the left one on the right.... Same with reading. One sentence yet same sentence starts on the middle and is tilted or oblique.. Two moons everynight wobbling towards and away from each other... With condition sucks but I have worse conditions so 1 day at a time.

Wow , me too. I wish my glasses would get here. My epilepsy medicine was just increased and caused bad dizziness. Mine has been caused by a TBI.
I am 51, and I was born with double esotrophia. I had my first surgery at age two and a few to follow. I always had excellent vision, and no eye Dr ever suggested to wear glasses. Of course, as it happens one of my eyes began wandering up more, so I had my last surgery in 2006. I knew immediately upon waking up something was wrong. I couldn't see clearly at aĺl and the double vision was much worse. I have had to wear corrective lenses since, and there is no option left for surgery due to not enough muscle being left. No prisms help, but at least I can drive. Nighttime is extremely bad, though. It just amazes me that most Dr's don't seem to understand that one with these diseases only has binocular vision, yet they try and insist on focusing on one object at the same time with both eyes. Fortunately, progressive lenses have helped overall, but I actually have thought about becoming an optical technician, so I can help others. Is it true that nothing else can be done for my vision? Are there any options out there?

My eyes have been crossing for the last 16 years - ever since menopause started. But it's been a slow devolution - but it's snowballing and there's no stopping it. Now, after all these years, I need new prisms every four months.

I had a panic attack over 30 days ago. I woke up the next day experiencing many dizzy spells accompanied by double vision throughout the day. The double vision takes around 10 seconds to go away. Could this be anxiety related?
I have had double vision for a few years I believe. It’s just like halos hovering above objects. I went to my eye doctor and he did a thorough examination. He said I need glasses - that’s it. Do you think the double is due to the need for glasses? I have it in both eyes. When I tilt my head down or squint, it disappears.

I have a exotropic left eye ( outwards) but I can forcefully make my eyes straight which results in double vision,
doctor's said strabismus surgery may help in this issue, as my control is very good but my brain takes a lot of strength to make them straight and eventually double vision as muscles are fatigued
While I hope surgery does it for you. What we have found is that unfortunately this is likely to happen even after surgery as enough people come to us after ineffective surgeries which sometimes make things worse. Definitely don’t mean to scare you. Just stating the facts.
Here is what the doc hasn’t mentioned: the visual imbalance actually comes from the brain and not the muscles. The muscles only respond to electrical signals from the brain 🧠 which tell it to contract or relax. Remember vision is processed by the brain. Thus unless the surgery is for a new brain, the real solution lies in teaching the brain how to align and training the muscles to work with the brain. This is what we do.

Pretty sad-that's a Long time
the problem with double vision is dangerous during driving. I drove at 5p down a straight road for 97 miles. I started to get double and the traffice looked like it is aimed at me. I could not determine my lane opposed to the other direction. I cried trying to figure how can I get home. Finally I decided to cover one eye and could then drive home. But my peripheral vision was very limited.
that sounds scary! It is indeed very disconcerting and can be quite dangerous.
My son in law woke with it. Finally have a diagnosis, 6th cranial nerve palsy. 😳
thats unfortunate. Our therapy and effort to restore visual function does help generally improve that condition.

There can be many different causes of double vision looking off to one side, from strabismus, thyroid eye disease, and many more. Please have your double vision assessed by an optometrist.

Why can i turn on & off double vision on my command?
i’ve had double vision on both my eyes for about 5 yrs now but i feel like recently it has gotten worse, and i’m also noticing a decline in my speech and mouth movements😭 so now i’m concerned it’s a neurological problem

My wife has had on and off double vision for over a year. Have done multiple blood tests and even mris and the neuro suspects the cause is due to a thalamic lesion. She has been on ecosprin (blood thinners) as a treatment but her double vision still persists. Sometime it's 4-6 time a day each episode lasting a few seconds and last 2 days it's been 3-4 times per minute.

I suffer from heavy migraines often and a week ago I had a very bad one and the day After i started seeing slow movement and the day After I had binoculair Vision for a week Straight now , I went to the ER and the Ct Scan turns out nothing wrong , I hope this Will Go Away and Not be permanent 😢did you ever heard the Same and did it Go Away ? @@PabloEscobar-vm1hf no way to tell unfortunately. You’ll just have to observe it. If it becomes consistent then you may have to explore treatment. Hopefully it resolves for you soon enough. Have you looked into why you have the migraines?
@ unfotunatly I had a MRI scan Today and it turned out I had a little bleeding probably what caused this , (ischemie Microvasculair) I have to come at report to talk about the results of the mri Next week , I appriciate your response 🙏much respect for your Job
@@visontherapy update unfortunately it seemed that I suffered from a lack of oxygen in a small part of my brain (5mm) (ischemic microvascular) I really hope my vision will go back to normal 😔 it’s getting a bit better each day now but very slowly so I hope it’s not that bad damaged 🙏🏼

I always wake up with blurry vision ot goes away after a little or my eyes feeling like they were put on pressure. Also screens look really bright or just really hard to see with the light looking like it's going into the words

This might be the dumbest comment but if its REALLY annoying or you want to see something normally just close one eye it works for me.

😅 that's what I do Also...close one eye and get behind the wheel 😂 and I'm fine. I've gotten use to double vision right side going over 2 years with it. Drs take forever by the time they find the problem which they haven't. I was with different Drs for about a year and 1/2 and have been taking a break from Drs ...

I had double vision from past two years when i am getting double vision i am getting headache also in starting of my double its getting 5 to 10 mintues for 6 to 7 times in year but it gradually increased the time upto 30minutes and now i am getting this double vision 4 to 5 times in a month is there any danger to me please explain breifly about the situation i am too scary about this i went to doctor they said because of migraine headache you are getting like this but it was increasing day by day

Apparently vertical (in particular) is a sign of thyroid issues (Graves Disease).
Yeah brother, my same issue, I have more issues when I'm looking at subtitles of a movie or a video, which is in big white letters, can you tell me how did you improve/fix it? It'll be a great help

I don’t have problems reading but when I really try to focus on a distant object I believe I am seeing it in double! Is this an anxiety disorder, visual/optical or is it neurological.

I am 26 years old, I've double vision developed after my buckle surgery... When I close the either eye it became normal. Exercise, prisms were not being able to solve my problem. Now every doctors are suggesting me to do another surgery (muscle or squint) surgery but I'm totally confused what I'm going to do now please suggest!
P.S. I've high myopia in both of my eyes

sometimes I get double vision just before I eat, I know that sounds crazy, also I feel unsteady like I could fall down, it lasts for like a minute which is a long time, if I cover one eye the double vision stops but I still feel like I could fall, happens when I stand up as well, I have slurred my words before and had a hard time putting thoughts into sentences, could I have had a stroke and do doctors have the tools to really find out what is going on?

I developed double vision about 2weeks after cataract surgery and has progressively worse. Labs are normal MRI was normal according to surgeon. So why??
Can't really say. You would need an evaluation. Not sure labs or MRI can show much considering the surgery that preceded the event.
I’ve had double vision since first grade (the earliest I can remember) and I turn 18 in a week and I’ve gone to my eye doctor and they didn’t help at all

I THINK I have had double vision for my whole life. It only happens when I focus on double vision though, so idk if it is the real thing. It also only happens on things close up, which I don’t understand. When I was little I played a game ti see how far out I could get the 2 objects away from each other. I could get them pretyy far. But from what I’ve heard, I need help. Please tell me if I have double vision, or if it’s just something that everyone has.
Also, I can do it with both eyes. Idk if that changes anything.

I’ve been going through vertical double vision for a few months, I just went to the eye doctor. He said my vision changed (it got better by a whole point from my previous prescription) and that I’ve been experiencing double vision because the prescription was too strong. I got the new prescription, but I’m still experiencing it; even with no contacts on. I mainly experience it in my right eye, and sometimes on my left. It’s scary because of the rapid change in eye prescription along with the double vision what do I do?

I’ve had mine since I could remember (now 27) and I always thought it was normal. But in this past year, I feel like it’s bothered me even more, especially when I am driving, whether it’s at night or day time. Could it may my eye lazy forever? Should I be scared and see the doctor ASAP?

When i see small objects or letters with left eye i see 3 or 4 images one on top of the other ..vertically aligned 3 more images of a single one ..1st one looks brighter and then 2nd one with less brightness and 3rd one with slightly more decreased brightness...is it diplopia ( double vision ) or something else as i m seeing more than 2 ...whats the cause is it due to spending much more time on mobile ?

I work in construction, so there are a lot of obstacles on the ground ...... its rather dangerous for me just to walk around them ! I have such a bad case of double vision , that I have to keep 1 eye closed at all the time ! I'm currently waiting for my prism glasses . Life sucks living like this......

They both look almost the same to me except one is pretty much stretched back more....
I want the ER to take my double vision seriously not say go see a eye doctor
@@bryontharp5790 well unless you have a tumor or other reasons why you feel the ER was the place to go, you went to the wrong place and hence why they sent you away. Good luck.

Yes we have had patients who had a tumor and came to us instead. And of course we told them to go get an MRI first because things weren’t adding up.
