Love that one ping in the intro. Very creative name for the channel. Means something . . . . hmmm.
Got stranded years ago when an ungreased boat trailer bearing spun and the repair place off the northbound side of I-75 in Georgia Adairsville charged me $800 for $20 of bearing parts and remove and replace. And they did a crappy job too !!! Back then that was like $1500 in 2022. The lack of knowledge of a youngster, life lessons. I have still have bearing grease PTSD.
Thanks for sharing, Horace. Good luck to you in your future adventures.
Excellent content. One of the most neglected items is trailer maintenance. I have seen more guys have trailer issues than you can image and I live in Arkansas so no salt water close. Thanks again!!!!!
Thanks very much, Norman!
The system that was already in their was better than the bearing buddies which don't get the rear bearing so the rear bearing can go bad unless you regularly pull & repack them. I would have kept what you had. I would love to have that system.
Thanks for your comment, Mr. Whitetail. We’ll keep an eye on it. So far, so good.
Awesome video! I have the knotts sealed bearings on my karavan trailer. I’ve had good luck with them over the past 5 years and thousands of miles.
Thanks for the kind words. We’ve had the same system, but be careful because sealed or not, water does intrude over time.
Well done, I had no idea it was that easy. 👍
Thanks!
Gosh, I forgot how messy grease was. Im so glad I went oil bath instead. Over 6yrs and 9000 miles without even a mark on my bearings.
Thanks for your comment, Peter.
I need to relube my bearing buddy... thanks for the reminder!
Glad to help out, Vaughn.
Just a note.
I have a 2019 SeaDoo MOVE 1 Extended
Mine are 1.980”
Thanks for the info, Norman.
Interesting. I just scoop out the old grease and then refill with new grease every year. I have replaced the bearings once out of caution in the third year of ownership. Not much play but I just wanted to be safe.
Better safe than sorry. Thanks for your comment.
Good job guys ok quick question so if I take the grease Nipple off And just use the bearing buddy Is it still going to push grease in to the spindle
It’s supposed to maintain pressure on the grease so it stays lubricated, but it won’t push the grease through the spindle in the same way as before. We’ll see how well it does over time, but so far so good.
@@3ftDeepChannel thank you so much I might just do it up hope to see you guys on the water next year seadoolife
Awesome. I'm ordering! Do you need that special hub? Or do the caps work on any hub/axle?
They are pretty generic, but you should confirm that it works with your system first and get the right size. Good luck!
If enough grease is needed to squash the spring, won't that also put pressure on the rear hub seal? I imagine the seal would give way before the spring.
Good point but no, it’s a very light spring. No threat to the seal. But time will tell …
@@3ftDeepChannel I always thought it would be a stiff spring. Makes sense. Thanks!
@@perkypat2214 I just had this happen to me. One of my seals partially popped out on my first trip out.
Was the seal in good condition? It really shouldn’t affect a seal that’s in good question, but we’d like to hear more about your system.
@@3ftDeepChannel I have to take it apart still, but I'll replace the seal. It's been partially pushed out. The other seal is still fine. I think it could just be the seal.
Esse cara é extremamente profissional e competente
Obrigado!

My betting buddies don't have the caps is that bad?
The cap helps to keep water and dirt out. I would spend a few bucks and get replacement caps. Good luck.
Put zerk fitting back on and ditch the buddies
Why do you say that?
Was better before
Why would you say that?
@@3ftDeepChannel it would seem it had more effective flushing prior and both still require a grease gun to activate.
Good points. Yes, you still need your grease gun and will need to grease the bearings as you did before (save your nipple!). But the point is that this system will help prevent water intrusion and hopefully extend the life of your bearings and racers.
If I had the e-z lube axles I would have never remove the zerk fitting. Stay original.
