I lived in Adelaide for 41 years, now live in Launceston Tasmania. I loved growing up in Adelaide, but like many cities it changed over time and sadly many of the changes weren't for the better. It's still a very livable city compared to most, but only if you like very hot/dry summers.
I'm born and bred South Australian and the only other place I want to live is in Tassie. The Summer's are very hot here now, but it's still fairly easy to get around here compared to most states, although in the last ten years traffic seems to have doubled...
@@joebidensr.9244 I recommend coming for a holiday in summer if you haven’t been before. The winters are cold here but bearable. The rest of the year is quite pleasant. Traffic in Launceston is very light compared to Adelaide. Best wishes.

Adelaide City has retained much of it's Colonial Past and whilst not considered a fabulous place,it has much beauty and is slowly becoming a popular destination for international tourists.It is blessed with fine sunny weather for most of the year,close to excellent beaches and pretty towns in the picturesque Adelaide Hills and you might include the wine districts,which are within easy reach by car.You could easily spend a week there and find plenty of places of interest.
It is a easy city to stroll around as everything of interest is no more than about 2O minutes walk away.You will also find prices at cafes and restaurants,quite a bit cheaper than those you wind in Sydney or Melbourne etc. and accommodation as well.

That was well filmed and well edited, but the best part of the city is behind the Uni/Museum/War Memorial, just 500 meters north of where you filmed.

That would be on the northern side of North Terrace. You can get there by going to the North Terrace, Kintore Avenue intersection where the State Library is. Walk down Kintore Ave a bit and you will find a lane that takes you behind the library into what used to be the old Police Barracks. There is a square surrounded by 19th century buildings that thankfully were sparred from demolition. This area will lead you through to a place behind the Museum and into the University campus. There are sign boards with historic information describing the function of the buildings. It's perfectly safe to go there during the day.

I used to ride my bike to thr city in the 70s, swim in the fountain Infront of museum. Swim in the Torrens. Have not been for years. What a noisy cluttered shithole it has become in comparison. Still a nice city. Would be better if all cars were banned in the square mile. Looking at nearly everyone either texting or phone to ear walking sitting. Times have changed, for thr thr worse.

Human being always changing the way of their living style. You lived yours in your time and let the younger generation live theirs what ever they want to live.
When you went "for a swim" in the Torren's, it's not euphemism for the Police chucking you in is it?
Cause they had a habit of doing that for suspicious men lurking around toilet blocks next to the Torrens..
A Dump. Nostalgic’s only apply. Boring as hell, a place forever trying to be a place of importance.
It is also one of the most boring city
Perhaps if you're a tourist but if you know where and when to go it can be quite exciting.
