Nice video 👌 FYI yz125 and yz125x owners , we are affected by the same problem. My 2019 yz125 had both a failed metering block gasket and shrunken/leaking needle and seat O-ring . The JD Jetting kit is fantastic. Good luck 👍
You just have to bend the small tab where the float needle connects to the float. If it's a plastic float you don't have that option you just need to replace the float needle.
Does 2019 ktm 250xc mikuni carb need this? Im looking at buying one. Also with mikuni carb can it be jetted to perform well from sea level to 100m above sea level without a jetting change? I dont really want to go to a lectron or smartcarb if i can help it. Thanks for great video.
I’m doing this tomorrow. I changed the jetting to lean it out already. If the gasket is bad, should I go back to stock and start over after this? Great video, thank you.
Excellent question, yes go to the jetting it calls for, in your area/altitude/temp out of the book. Make sure you do both, the jet block and float seat o-ring. You'll be amazed how much better it runs.
@@TepcoCycleRepair my gaskets looked good, 80 hours. However, it does run better. It wasn’t coming down off idle very well and it has been great ever since replacing the gaskets. Thank you
Would this jet block issue cause my bike to foul plugs ? I can’t seem to get my bike to run at at. Only when I put a fresh or clean plug on it. It runs for a few min then it dies
It could, but many other things are more likely to. Low compression, to much oil, the wrong oil for your riding, running to rich, leaking right side crank seal, all these things could cause fouling plugs.
This bike never ran ethanol, the Phillips is a JIS screw head but I use a Snap-on #2 bit. Sorry for the late response but hope it answers others questions.
@@TepcoCycleRepair got it ordered hoping for the best. i heard something about filing something down as well but cant remember what it was. you hear of this? might have been on thumpertalk
@@throttlebuff Yes, some will file a small half circle at the bottom of the slide to help with throttle modulation. I haven't done this. Look up Gram Jarvis carb mods. I just repaired another TMX this past week with the same gasket issue, he couldn't believe the improvement.

This should apply to any Mikuni. I have it on a CR250 and it now runs super clean. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for switching carbs KTM.... Goddamn
These carbs are awesome when set up right.
Really great info. How do you adjust the float as per your recommendation?

Yes it will need this. Jetting will be the same at sea level and 100m.

Can you meassure the spare float valve seat o’ring and tell me its size? I cant find dealer for those jet kits here in Argentina. Thanks!

Does this gasket go bad because of added ethanol in the fuel? And it the philips head screw a JIS shape?

Ktm 150sx 2019 - just ordered a 5 slider to replace the 4 slider that's standard.
Any views?
That will make it leaner through the mid transition so if your gurgling or not smooth through there that should help.
How do u know if it is bad? What was the issue if those gasket are bad?
Runs rich no matter your jetting. Blue smoke, spooge dripping from your exhaust. Bike will gurgle, it won't run smoothly at steady throttle.
No link to gasket?
Good call, thanks. I just put it in the description, check it out.
