In the late 50s when I attended grammar school in Texas I got "caught" speaking Spanish during recess. The teacher made me put my nose to the wall and my hands behind my back for the reminder of the recess period. As an Air Force officer in the 80s I was paid $100 extra per month while stationed in Panama because I could read and write in Spanish.
During a visit to Europe an Inn keeper joined us for morning breakfast. He said this to me, "You know when it comes to speaking different languages there are three kinds of people. A person such as you who speaks English and Spanish is called bilingual. Then people like your granddaughter who speaks English, Spanish and German is called trilingual. Then there are people who can only speak one language. They are called Americans!

I'm a Mexican. I didn't know English since 1st grade. I remember a teacher yelling at me to color. But i don't understand what the teacher is saying. She began to yell at me and I cry. Later i heard a teacher speak Spanish and English. She told me to color in Spanish. Then I understand.

This makes me want to cry. Such an adorable little girl. It's terrible that this type of stuff happens to kids who come from different race backgrounds or come from a different country. All I can say is stay beautiful and ignore all the haters.
This all teaches us a lesson. No matter what language we speak, we must respect them, and worship them as a friend still even if you can't communicate with them.

This is what happened when i moved back to Asia, my parents are asian but i have been living at America for 7 years. When i went back to asia (last year) i was getting harassed by my own friends, and my teachers because i look like an Asian-American so i started home-school, people should be treated the way you want to be treated

When I started my first school in U. S. A I didn't know how to speak English and got bullied but then I know little bit of English and still learning. I'm in middle school rn. And all my teachers say that I'm good at speaking English and keep practicing. In 2022 I didn't get bullied of speaking but I get bullied for other and I didn't do anything wrong.

You speak amazing Spanish and you're my idol. I also speak Spanish, English, hindi (I live in india) and German.
This is something that needs to be said and maybe it will help just one girl change her ways. I don't have all the answers to life but what I do know is that growing up with sisters, allowed me at an early age to understand and appreciate the female struggle. I have so much respect for girls simply because I don't know where you find the strength to deal with the pressure of always having someone judge or scrutinize your every move. You would think being a girl that you would understand how the smallest insult can ruin your self-esteem and have a lasting effect. I know that as a guy, if I tell a girl she's pretty, she won't believe me, but if I tell a girl that she's ugly, she'll remember it forever. I worry about having a daughter so much that it makes me almost scared to have kids, I don't want my little girl to ever experience what it's like having 1000's of girls that have never even met her, leave her hate comments telling her to kill herself and calling her nasty names like slut, whore, trashy, skank, fat, stupid, loser, bimbo, tramp, fake, cow, disgusting, bitch. I would rather go through life and not experience fatherhood than to bring a little girl in this world just so people can beat the self-esteem right out of her.It's such a turn off when we see a girl writing hurtful/hateful comments to another girl. It makes no sense, it makes you look jealous and desperate. Look at it from my perspective, If someone asked you "Do you find a negative hateful guy attractive?" Pretty obvious answer right? Well We don't find it attractive when you girls do it either and despite what you've been told or made to believe, the truth is looks aren't as important to us as you girls think they are. We will take a solid 5 that's a sweetheart over a girl that's a 10 but a Bitch any day. Any guy that tells you differently is just trying to smash and I bible that. Remember that what you say about someone else says more about you than it does about them. That's just keepin it 100

This is what my grandma and all of my aunts had to Experience when they moved here from Colombia back in the 70s they had a hard time fitting in because the only language that they knew at the time was Spanish so they were builled a lot and now there Bilingual now most of my Primos and myself grew up speaking English and Not Spanish and i didnt know why

It's never okay to bully someone for being a foreigner or their primary language not being English, and saying that you're "just being honest," that "it's a joke," or anything similar doesn't make it harmless. Being honest and being unkind are not the same thing. And telling someone to go back to their own country is horrible!

When i was in middle school i got bullied because i wasn’t American like everybody else, I was Australian so they would make fun of me during recess. I cried each night. Unfortunately, i was bullied and teased for having and Australian accent. Until, my new classmate and me got very close he would help me, support me and stick up for me if i got bullied. The moral of the story is “ Don’t judge a book by its cover” NOW go inspire everybody else ☺️
