Emphasis on the fact you got a TRIM and curly cut! A lot of the ppl getting breakage issues aren’t getting a trim but a curly cut only. I’m glad you have an actually good stylist that knows how to do it right!
I’ve always felt like your were going to move from Arizona. I hate leaving things out of the shower. There is nothing worst than being wet mid wash and having to get something especially if you have to leave the room to get it, maneuvering around equipment. The Set really is good! Very fortunate that the curly cuts have worked in your favor. Excellent video
I’ve been getting curly cuts for a couple years. They are not a problem. Nor is not using leave ins. I’m glad the talks didn’t phase you because your cut looked great. If something isn’t messing up your hair then why change it, or attempt to find something wrong with it, and try to convince others to change without justification?
With them curly cuts….. that’s bc people don’t wanna cut away the dead worried about length 🙄 if you don’t cut them raggedy damaged ends from the early 2000’s !!!
I’ve been doing my own curly cuts on me (almost 15 years) and my daughter (all her life, 8 years). We don’t use heat on our hair so cutting in a pressed state would never work for us. I usually start with wet hair and cut all the split ends, trying to get them all. We’re team health over length here and any split end left behind for the sake of length is gonna come back to bite you in the ass. Then when the hair is dry in a natural wet and go state, I go back in and do the curly cut for shaping. This is what’s worked for me. And yea, cutting my own hair was hard, I had a lot of mess ups in the beginning, but I’ve perfected the technique and my daughter and I both now have healthy waist length curly 3c/4a hair.
Your recent haircut is so beautiful, Will. It truly gave your hair so much life and I was under the impression that it was just fine before. Always do what works best for you. As someone who also lived in AZ for a bit, I got over it after 5 or so years. It served it's purpose but it wasn't a lifelong place for me. Hope you find somewhere to live that you love even more.
When I stopped using oils and butters and did the 30 day detox I saw that I’m not actually low porosity and simplified my wash day into about 1 hour and 3 products: Shampoo conditioner and foam/gel. I’m never going back!! I agree with what you say about the curly cut because some people don’t get their ends cut by professionals for shape or to get a trim because they rather do it themselves. Smh
Deeper than hair in philly is on youtube and definitely someone i would let do my silk press. Jennifer-Rose in Jersey as well. My sister sees Jennifer-Rose and her silk presses and curly hair are always flawless.
Philly is much more affordable and it’s not difficult to get to NYC if you ever want to venture into the city. I loved living there because I just enjoy being in close community with Black peoples, but just be intentional about what neighborhood you choose to live in. It’s a lot of people being displaced and a lot of new folks aren’t trying to be neighborly. Getting around isn’t hard, but parking can be tight close to center city Edit: and make sure you have good HVAC if possible. It gets hotter and colder every year!
WILL! Thank you so much for the laughter. You have the mantle for best edits in a video from Jackie Aina! Your hair looks amazing and if you are going to move (I don't blame you at all that heat is crazy) Philly gets my vote!

Just got my curly cut in July. I’ve been getting curly cuts since 2018. I haven’t had any of the issues that I’ve heard of online. I only wear my hair curly. 😊
Whuuuut Will you're moving here!!! Wow !! I'm happy sad to hear this...I live here in Philly but I'm moving next year..but in the meantime..I'd be happy to give you the scoop on anything you need. This city would be blessed to have you here! 🌃 🥰
I’m laughing right now, because as soon as Will said, meet me in the, I got an ad for men’s body wash while they were in the shower 😂! And he literally says shower after you can’t make that up it’s almost like he chose that ad lool.
Chiillddddd I had to leave AZ too. They do not like black folks 😭😭 I needed more black culture than that ✌🏽 But from what I can tell about the curly cut discourse is that people are saying that curly cuts are for shape moreso than….. anything else. Like some folks are going to other stylists to blow their hair out and are noticing a crazy amount of split ends and that aren’t being addressed by the curly cuts because you can’t really see splits when your hair is coiled. So some are getting straight cuts for split ends and then if that shape doesn’t translate when curly, they fix the shape curly.
I'm with you Will. If it doesn't feel right just move on! I moved all the way from London 21 yrs ago and I don't regret it. London's too expensive! 🤑 I've lived in 3 states and looking to move to a possible 4th. Working remotely all these yrs allows me and hubby the freedom to live where ever we like. Including the possibility of moving all the way to Thailand and live on a monthly budget that's equivalent to what we pay for our mortgage. Eat up Gurl, cause the world is your oyster! ✈
Hi I also have a steamer at home. It’s similar, but not exactly the same as mine but you can usually twist the container in one direction to empty it and it should come out. Then to put it back in twist in the opposite way. I would definitely recommend using the ozone feature. I used it every single time it could help with your dandruff too as well as killing any nasties in the water 😂.
There is a stylist named Bruno Prates who cuts hair in its curly state the same way it's cut when it's straight. It's thorough, and at the same time, he can shape the hair. The only downside is that he is in Brazil. I have searched, but I have yet to find anyone in the States who can trim ALL hair textures using the "straight hair" technique that people get when the hair is straightened for trims.
heavy on the debate about curly cuts, bc i was definitely chattin up this person who swore your hair was uneven and i’m like “gurl did we watch the same video”

"Don't just do what i do, if it works for you then do it" i cannot support this message enough! I have full body exzema so my scalp is SUPERRRR dry. I cannot live without a leave in conditioner. But dandruff is opposite of exzema even though they can sometimes look similar. People need to learn to listen to their own bodies instead of the internet.
I never had an issue with dandruff and I think that’s mostly because I learned early on, for me, my scalp does not like ANYTHING left on it. I never could leave deep conditioner in my hair for more than an hour, I can’t do anything directly on my scalp, not even oils, and so far I think that’s what has helped me keep build up and dandruff from entering the chat. Oils and butters have never been an issue, but I do like taking a break from a leave in and just doing gels for a couple of weeks although leave ins have never been an issue either. The only issues I’ve had with my hair have been my own doing: neglect which led to matting and breakage, and inconsistency 🙄

I like it! It's good for removing shed hair and clumping up the curls. But if you have tighter textured hair, you should def start with finger tangling or a wide tooth comb first. (I sometimes skip it and lol, it takes ~forever~ to get it through). My 3c/4a curls are plumper with it than without it, for sure, though. I also think it's a lot better at catching shed hair than finger detangling or wide tooth combs alone.
Ive been highly considering moving to Phoenix next spring, any tips/pros/cons? Thanks! (For context I'm 30, single and a digital content creator who works a regular 9-5. Looking for a remote job so I can have more flexibility with work!)
The curly cut controversy seems like a lack of communication between the customer and the stylist. If I have a problem with my hair I’m going to the stylist not sm but that’s me .

Detangle her hair before shampoo with a pre poo. Then wash her hair in twists.

African Pride Moisture Miracle Aloe & Coconut Water Detangle and Condition Pre- Poo. It’s readily available and cheap, like $4
Try Cantù for kids conditioning detangler. The price is right and you can spray this instead of water when styling

Hey Will ! Look 👀,, I love your hair & have learned a lot from watching your videos ! Please don’t stop ! Omg I hope you move to the New York/Philly bigger and better experiences. But you may not like the winter 🥶🥶🥶🥶compared to Arizona ! 😂😂😂❤
yesss come to NY, the best!
let me stop, its expensive as hell
I'm scared to cut my hair. I've always had long curly hair 😂😂😂
I stopped I only use oils in my conditioner or if I’m in braids
I was holding my breath
every time you change the title i think i’m on the wrong video 😭😭😭
lmao...titles be annoying me so bad. I gotta change it or I won't be able to sleep!
Yo Will! You seen that hairbrush on TikTok that’s supposed to be able to detangle 4C hair dry? Idk what it’s called. I’m commenting unprepared.
😂
I just came back from the hair salon I cut my hairrr a bittt just the little split ends
Come to ATL.
Heard good things about the Felicia leatherwood brush, do you think it’s worth it?
I use fragrance free leave in and try to avoid my scalp
Ive been highly considering moving to Phoenix next spring, any tips/pros/cons? Thanks!
(For context I'm 30, single and a digital content creator who works a regular 9-5. Looking for a remote job so I can have more flexibility with work!)
Will!!! I just moved to Phoenix. One question. WHERE ARE MY PPL??? Black ppl are not here😩😩😩
Follow koyakouture_connects on tiktok! she be exposing the black spots round town

Hair ate
The curly cut controversy seems like a lack of communication between the customer and the stylist. If I have a problem with my hair I’m going to the stylist not sm but that’s me .
now why was I just reading the description to see that you live in Phx now I live in phx so go ahead and slide me your stylistz
but if you do need someone I been going to someone since 8th grade
12:01 you are the voice that the people are not getting on this topic.
😂😂😂
Pleaseee give me the Miche products😭😭
You should move to Dallas Tx
you know I really did like it there last time I visited!
