Travis Tritt is one of the most underrated singers in Country Music. You need to react to his duets with Marty Stuart (an even more underrated artist), they are "The Whiskey Ain't Working " and "This One's Going Hurt You (For a Long Long Time).
That's a great one from 90s! Always loved it, great choice Don. Fun fact --- there's a "Class of 89" that featured the quickly rising stars of the day: Garth, Clint, Alan, and Travis. The only lady to make the class is Mary Chapin Carpenter ... and I'm going to throw in a request for her song "This Shirt"; I love songs that centre on a non-human, and MCC is a master writer of them. Also Don you'll be delighted to learn that in the video for this song Travis does indeed get the lady --- at the end she picks up the whole band in her stretch limo and they go off to a saloon, with Travis having his arm around the lady. I absolutely love Travis Tritt's voice. Have all albums and there are so many ballads, up tempo country songs and blues and bluegrass etc. He is also an amazing guitarist and banjo player.
That was a great song by Travis, I remember when it came out big hit really launched him into country music, like you said really fun song what's the chance of impressing a woman in limo, at a country club to Hop in a beat up pickUp truck that would ruin her REP!! Yes, Travis has always managed to put a smile on my face. What great songs he has done! He's not a bad banjo player either, and has the perfect voice for blue grass music. His duets with Marty Stuart were so good. Big fan, here. Great rating.

My favorites from TT are Anymore, Help Me Hold On, Foolish Pride, Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof, Tell Me I Was Dreaming, Country Club, Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares), I'm Gonna Be Somebody, T-R-O-U-B-L-E, Can I Trust You With My Heart, and Best of Intentions.
Makes mee think back to high school (before this song) when listening to country music and the country way of life wasn't cool like now and there was a small group of us who hung out together cos we had the same ideology. Then one day I took the chance on a girl way outside my league. Basically I told her who I was and what I was about. To make a long story short, the rodeo cowboy got the cheerleader
Had a few of those rich ladies in the day they always paid good, when I was 16, 4 of them tried to get me to move down to LA. everyone loves a cowboy..... be safe .... HAKAD

Funny story is Allan Jackson turned down this song. As an 80s hard rock fan things were changing in the 90s and I seen the Travis Tritt video for Put Some Drive In Your Country and I was hooked on Tritt from that point on
