So captivating, incredibly calming. Thank you for this little journey into the world of Japanese swords and their swordsmiths, as well as the journey into myself listening to the music and the voice, so beautifully presented 👺❤
I like love the Gassan blades. Sadatoshi has made some of the most beautiful nihonto! Not all swords suit Horimono, but Gassan swords wear horimono the best in my opinion 👍!
They are considered art pieces! NBTHK, The governing body for nihonto in Japan is more of a treasure/art institution and are categorized and awarded just as art is.

They were great blacksmiths and artists at the same time.

...Go Yoshihiro, Shizu, suishinshi Masahide, Kunimune, Norishige, Kiyomaro, all the Heian kaji...who made your list?
Aaahhh the magical Masamune blades.😢😢😢
Glad to see they were able to save a lot of swords after WWll. Thousand of swords are in the bottom of the bay.

2 mill US for a sword is amazing
Umetada Myoju is considered the father of shinto swords not Kunihiro.
These should now be considered strictly art pieces. Modern blades and steel far outclass the strength and durability of these artefacts.
