He's the coolest fish ever dude. I used to keep both Dovii and Managuense for nearly 15 years, I miss them so much but don't have the space for them anymore. I love Indominus' patterns, coloration, and the signature Managuensis red eyes.
This is like my Texas Cichlid. Got him at around 1 1/2 inches. He was terrorizing my peaceful community of fish that were 6-12 inches long. So I put him in his own aquarium. Now he’s about 6 inches long. I never thought I’d dedicate an entire aquarium to one fish. But he has become one of my favorite fish I’ve ever kept. And I’ve kept fish for about 22 years.
My jaguar cichlid ( karen) was insane. When I rescued her and the jack dempsey she lived with the jack was white ... as soon as the jaguar went in her own tank, the JD turned the most most gorgeous blue.. that jack was so docile after years of being with that Jag.
Brahh you're hilarious "i didn't want to accept it but he was starting to challenge me" 😂 loved this video of the different tank scenarios. I personally believe he's not finished growing and will max out at like 21" what you think?
Thanks, I don't know he slowed down big time once he reached 10 inches. Sometimes with hybrids they can exceed the size of the original species or stay smaller. At his current rate I'm thinking maybe 16" max
i got a baby jag cichlid, which was only like an inch long. It was super aggressive and territorial to my 3-4 inch loaches in the community tank, so I moved it to my bigger tank with 4-8 inch cichlids which is a community tank as well, has bristlenose catfish', mollies, guppies, tetras, rainbow sharks etc, instantly humbled that little jag cichlid and its been cool watching it grow and learn from some of the other fish in the tank. Will be sad once it grows a bit bigger and I will have to move it
Yes sadly these fish don't learn their lesson so the moment he's back in power he will return to being ruthless, unless its a female, females aren't as aggressive, but she'd definitely eat the smaller fish once she's big enough.
Which genes do you like more parachromis or amphilophus? I love them both hard to decide. Im currently growing out my first trimac cichlid he's a male and im growing out my first red tiger mota also a male
I found my on ebay. The thing is that even if you find another batch of hybrids, they are not guaranteed to look like mine. If you google jaguar x dovii hybrids you'll see that they all look different
LMFAO , It's OK bro he aint gonna bite you through the glass. Freaking hilarious. I've done that myself with my old purple rose queen , That thing was a maniac
Yes I think the protein does help to make him grow faster. I fed worms, raw shrimp or tilapia twice a week along with a high protein pellet, hikari carnivore sticks, every day
I had a Jack Dempsey that wouldn't tolerate any tank mates no matter what they were. Loved crunching crayfish and LARGE night crawlers. He jumped out of his tank and got stepped on once. It left a slight but permant bulge in his left side. I think this just made him meaner.
Hi Darius. How are you, Sir? That is a very interesting story about Indonimus, he is very aggressive for sure. I am thinking that it might be that he killed the second female because he might have not forgotten what his first mate did, and after killing her, he probably thinks that no female will be good for him. Perhaps if you allow some time to pass, you could try again, and as soon as the fry are born, move them into a smaller aquarium to grow so that you could maybe sell them if you want. However, that is merely a thought and an idea, though if you are happy just to let him spend his time alone in that Aquarium, then that is absolutely fine, after all he does seem happy. Out of appreciation to you for taking the time to produce this content, I have given this video the 169th like 🤙🏼to say thankyou very much for sharing. I hope you have a great Weekend. Take care, Sir. 🤙🏼🙂🤙🏼❤️
We have a female dovii about 4.5 years old now, and she has killed everything with the exception of one fish that has ever been put in the tank with her. When she was about 5-6inch she managed to kill a tiger Oscar that was about 14inches, after that she now lives a solitary life in a 6x2x2ft tank, she’s way to feral to ever try another tank mate
@@dwsdarius we bought her from the aquarium shop when she was a baby barely an inch long. Pretty sure she was captive bred, Australia is pretty strict with what gets imported from wild caught stock here.
So the thing about these Dovii cichlids. And to anyone who wants to get them, or any of their relatives. They dont respect people. They start with fer as you are a massive predator to them. They will then eventually lose that fear. When they do, you are nothing but a threat ir challenge. They are not as bad as umbees. They are still rough however. Even the little Montagues are the same way
@@dwsdarius it is, but at the same time, these are animals that don't have the highest level of intelligence either. As a baby they view us like threats, as they grow they lose that view and that fear. It's more of a territorial dispute with us rather than much more
My understanding is that Indomimus took Dr. Stone's "Scale of Evil" personality test and scored a perfect 22. When compared to Ted Bundy, who scored 17 on the test, Indominus is much worse. Just saying.
Its possible, but its also possible that he stay a small as a jaguar. Judging by his slowed growth rate I think he might stay around the size of a jaguar cichlid

Blue Genes
I personally like the bulk of amphilophus cichlids but parachromis usually end up with better color
Good video and super cool fish room 💯
Thanks
Should it not be Indominus rather than Indonimus? He appears to be wild and untamable 😮 He has turned out nice for a hybrid.
You know what, your right. The name came from Indominus Rex, some how I confused it with Indonimus. But its too late to change his name now

This makes me so happy! I would have also submitted to him! Smart move!!!
He's actually not too bad of a dictator!
Awesome video brother, hope u do try again for a female for him. Maybe try another dovii female but keep the divider up for a while
Hard
U could probably try 5 silver dollars just to try to break him in as far as tolerance towards other fish
Thats a possibility
Indonimus has a lot of fatty deposits around his dorsal area and his belly. You gotta reduce his food if you want him to have long lifespan
Nice video, thank you!
