- Hi all
So first i just want to say this walk was not at all dangerous and we walked the perimeter up to the old abandoned Tank. The only time you should not walk over the flats in when the red flag is up and thats just for low flying jets in the winter months that now use a totally different area as this area was abandoned in the 1970s due to its proximity of a natural gas terminal. it was where 20mm cannons trails were tested.
This actaul area was sold to the nature reserve. so please enjoy!
The warning is about digging but even then it says its at your own risk. not that I would even go out and attempt that.
Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve (NNR) is on the Lincolnshire coast, the site comprising eight km of coastal dunes and foreshore. The site is located on the coastal dunes to the east of the A1031, between Saltfleet and Mablethorpe, and close to Saltfleetby Saint Clement and Theddlethorpe Saint Helen. There are seven car parks offering access to the reserve.
The dunes began forming in the 13th century, and the same processes of wind and tidal action continue dune formation on the site today. The dunes support a variety of flowers and grasses while saltmarsh and freshwater marsh areas are home to a wide variety of insects, amphibians, birds and mammals. Its constantly changing habitats, shaped by the wind and sea, are home to a wealth of plants, birds and insects.
Although this wild area is the result of natural processes, it has been influenced over time by man. The site was purchased by the Air Ministry for use as a bombing range in the 1930s, and the beach was littered with old vehicles which were used as targets. During the Second World War tank traps and pillboxes were built, and the dunes were mined to defend against invasion. In 1969, part of the site was handed over to the Nature Conservancy and declared a National Nature Reserve (NNR). The bombing range eventually moved further north to Donna Nook in 1973.

Finding the tank was pretty awesome! We’ve been talking about starting geocaching but we just haven’t gotten to it!
Its really cool and takes you to some very intresting places. i would recommend it. i cant say about your country though because you have some nasty creepy crawlies but plenty of americans do it. Even ive done a few in the USA. The Tank was supposed to have a geocache but couldnt see one anywhere. Thanks for watching as always :)
Great video fella, I enjoyed that, not quite sure what you meant about cash or cashe or something, got confused there but great to see the old thing. 🤩🤩🤩

MoDification... Occurs when the MoD touches anything! LoL
Your lad looks like a future soldier with that walk. LoL
Interesting area for a walkabout. Some solid and rusty history, so to speak. Cheers
Haha his arms flap about everywhere lol 😆 😂 he's also not the bravest. Unlike my daughter who is neither scared or runs out of energy. Tbh they had both walked 12 miles in total that day! Thanks for watching mate!
@@RaymondoLeeTravel Like I've said in another post (don't know if you've read it), I'm just happy to see you taking your kids on walkabouts. Very uncommon these days with the online technological attractions, kids don't get proper exercise or real education. And don't worry, he'll probably grow out of that. Cheers
Raymondo, thanks for takeing us along, now run the hornets are making a bombing run. I have actually ridden in a nd American WW11 Sherman tank..
Oh wow really. I bet that was cool! Ive seen one close up but never been inside one lol 😆 I bet that was an awesome experience 👏. Cheers for watching and support

In Spain we have problems with people leaving plastic bags and coke cans on the beach. UK is at another level 😂
Yeah but ramon its probably british tourists who do this in 🇪🇸! Some of our beaches are not that clean mate. But we do try our best. I think its getting worse everywhere!
@@RaymondoLeeTravel I hope british tourist don't start leaving tanks in Spain beaches now... 😁
Oh I get you now 😆 🤣 😂 I'm so stupid hahaha
