Cheers Marc, great breakdown lesson. I'm more fimiliar with the Freddie King version of this blues classic. Mo Salah must have put a wee smile on your face, he was incredible in that 5 - 0 game.
Thanks Graeme! I think the Freddie King version is the original as it was written by his piano player, but as well as Clapton, Gary Moore and Jeff Healey both covered it, and I'm plenty of others have too. The Clapton version is pretty close to the original. As for Salah, yes he's incredible right now, and any win over Man U is great, but putting 5 past them was really special!
The song was written by Freddie King, who actually made all those arrangement, stops verses and so on... Clapton covered it nicely, but don’t give him the credit for making it interesting!!!
Any reason why we should go to the 4 by shifting down 1 string (not shifting down the neck)? The 5 is only 2 frets above so everything is done close to each other.
Thanks ! Enjoyed the lesson. Looking forward to part two !
Awesome, thank you!
Really cool!
Thanks!

“It’s the same but longer...” ha ha ha it’s a 16bar blues for the verses and 12 for the chorus and solo 😏

No reason, just pure personal preference
Thanks, Mark but I think you overdid the coffee before this one? LOL
I usually do!
