Great video! I just subscribed. We recently got a breeder pair of Kunekune pigs, so now we got to learn everything we can. One thing I was wondering is since they are a grazing type of pig, do they eat pretty good in the woods? We have very little grass to put them on.
I appreciate all your help and information I have another quick question I have meat pigs that are a different breed and of course they get fed 5 to 6 pounds per feeding and then I have my cooney coonies which the new set will be meat pigs . How are you raising your meat pigs and your breeders together without your breeders getting too fat I understand they are all kune kune. Are meat kk Raise on the 2 cups morning and 2 cups of feet at night
Everywhere is different you just have to be careful because a lot of people will mix Kunes with other breeds and sell them as Kunes. Which I’m sure they are good pigs still but you can get characteristics from the other breed that you may not want. I have seen unregistered sell for anywhere between 150-350
They are definitely less destructive as other breeds on your pasture when we have had some root they just turn the top of the soil they don’t make a huge crater. We also have some pigs that have never rooted.
My daughters love seeing your pigs. I’m dragging my feet on getting our next batch of pigs. I’m in Sierras of Kommifornia. Ticks are out early here too. I’m guessing you’re in the Midwest?
Great informative video on how you move and manage your kune kunes with the electric fence. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, it is the best fence for moving in tight areas.
Great video !! Thank you ! Your kunekunes are beautiful !!! 🐽
Thank you appreciate you following along

We run them through the woods and they will eat small plants and roots and then once the acorns start to fall they love it
Do you need to feed them more when they were in the woods than when they are out on pasture?
We never do
Can Kunekune be raised exclusively in woods? Or do they require pastures?
I know people that raise them in the desert. Just need to make sure they have a good feed so they get all the nutrition they need
So u use hog panels AND hot wire? Wouldn't hot wire be enough?
How do you pick who is going to be a meat pig?

That’s how we raise them just on 2 cups at each feed
11 months later how are the ticks?
Ticks were not bad this past summer
Hi there,
Are your kunekune pigs register?
Thank you
Our first pair we bought were unregistered but now we have 16 registered Kunes as we work on building our breeding program
Great!!!
Do you know more or less what's the cost of unregister kunekunes ?
Thank you.

@@KCFarms thank you very much for your time and patience to answer my questions.
Hey no problem ask away
I’ve heard that Kunekunes don’t root...is that not true?

I need to get one of those weed whackers of death.
Hahah, I can’t tell you how much we have used it since we moved here.
@@KCFarms I might be the only UA-camr that doesn’t have one yet.
