WOW. I can’t thank you enough for posting this video!! I’ve got slightly wider feet, and bought boardwalk skates after hearing a lot of people preferred them for comfort. After a few days of spending an hour in them, I was worried I’d never find skates that would be comfortable enough to even get the chance to learn! I just re-laced them using the last technique and oh my god. Mind blowing difference! They feel like a different pair of skates! I can’t wait to take them out today ❤️
I always struggle with a super painful little toe, I’ll try the 2nd one and do it the other way around. I really hope it helps because it’s gotten pretty bad, it hurts whenever I wear shoes without also wearing one of those bandaids with a little hole in them.
Thanks so much Rebel! I have wider feet and ingrown big toes so I'm trying both and seeing which works best!! You're a super star and have truly helped my skating journey immensely; love from Australia 💜💜💜

She reminds me so much of Megan Fox, looks wise & her speech. She also reminds me a lot of Scarlett Johansson. I’ve been checking out a lot of her videos. These are extremely helpful! I ordered size 7 in the Malibu Moxi’s & I wear an 8.5 in shoes. The toe area, sides & top of my foot hurt like hell! Feels too narrow. So, I’m going to try a wide foot lacing to see if it helps!

Do you or Shove have ideas for those of us with thick legs? My skates fit my feet brilliantly, but the lower leg is tight. Obviously I can loosen the highest laces, but then I lose ankle support. Hmm.
I thought it was nice because I saw all of my options. Especially since, as a person new to quads, I'm not sure which issue is my biggest challenge at the moment.

Hey there! So I’m 40 years old and new to skating, well, meaning I’ve not been on the rink floor since maybe junior high school! However, as I’m getting older, I want to stay healthy and fit and want to do something I really enjoy doing. Also I think it’s a great way to bond with my 16 year old daughter who loves to skate. Ok, so I got my first pair of skates that came in and they are the Impala Rose Gold. They are really pretty! However, I’m not knowledgeable as to what brands are the better brands and which skate is the best pair of skates. I thought they looked great and were affordable. So to my surprise, my Impala skates are NOT the most comfortable. Honestly they aren’t comfy AT ALL! I’ve been to the rink 4 times already as I’m taking lessons and also just trying to break them in. Each time, it’s unbearable and I end up going to the skate bar to grab a pair of loaners which are so much more comfortable. I know I have the right size. It’s not toe pain but I am flat footed and it just seems that maybe once my foot is in the skate it’s rubbing the sides of the hard walls inside the boot. The outter shell of the boot is hard not flexible at all. Im just looking for insight or feed back as to what I can do if anything. My daughter has some impalas as well and we got our skates at the same time and she’s skating flawlessly. You think it’s my wide flat feet? Do I need insoles?

Hello Queer Girl Straight skates, I was wondering if it would be ok to use a shoe tree on my roller skates? I just got them and I got a size to small so there a little tight on my feet.
Hi Natrelle! It definitely is safe to use them! I know skaters who have used lots of different methods to stretch out or make their skates conform to their feet. also, depending on the skates, they may stretch a bit with use!
