Jay leno"s Garage is the best show on UA-cam No other show comes close to the amount of content that he puts out with each one of his episodes. Its not just about the cars, its also about the amazing people that are behind the making of these works of art and amazing machinery, and the history of it all, and he grasps each and everyone of those points every time. Great Series Jay, keep up the Great work. I just wanted to let you know all of us enjoy your work and this hobby, thanks for sharing!
I love how John's face just lit up when Jay compared him to Shelby
+Synematic Studios But he knows he can never come even close
Well, Carol Shelby only modified Fords. Hennessey mods Camaros, Silverados, Challengers, Mustangs, Escalades, etc.
George GMC Sierra Denali But Hennessy cannot compete with the legend Shelby. This goes for historical world known races hes won the GT 40 design and Le Mans the list goes on. I put Hennessy in the same category as Roush. I found it funny when Roush started autographing his work like Carroll.
SS Well I don't like Ford.
They have their trucks figured out, and of course, the taxi and cop cars ran forever. I would prefer a '68 Bizzarini, myself...
I really enjoy the natural tone you have around cars. No bovine excrement. And thank you so much for having the courage to enjoy the genuine sounds of each vehicle. You are resisting the trend of producers to load up the audio tracks with extra layers of unrelated music. You are clearly a true car nut! Well done. Keep it coming.
Ah thanks Jay! Always a pleasure to see another one of your videos in my subscription box, keep up the great work!
never seen anything like this before, awesome stuff Jay just awesome stuff. I love how you get all these modded cars coming to your garage. Keep it up! :D lovin every video
haha thought you were going to ask : how fast do you have to go before... the stripes have an effect ...
"There is no substitute for immaturity"... and no cure either ;-)
That opening above the grill reminds me of KITT
John and Jay are both my heroes
Jay... I love when you reference the under the hood braces as Monte Carlo Bars. Even back in the 70's when you had full framed cars.... GM didnt really worry about extra weight caused by under the hood braces!!! Luv all your videos! Keep em Coming! -Leo *** Chicago ***
Since they didn't touch the bottom end, I'm assuming on the automatics they still left those failure prone afm lifters in there. I wonder how that worked out. Turning off the afm via a tune doesn't help eliminate failures.
Loved the sound
I have a low compression engine in my Tacoma with the 3.4. By far one of the most solid engines I have ever dealt with. I have not had a single problem with the truck, ever.
I always liked the Monte Carlo Bar on my Monte Carlo.
when I think of a convertible Camaro comes to mind 🙌
That is my favorite color combo!!!
The platform that this camaro is based on was designed in Australia by GM-holden for Holden's 2006 Commodore.... and it is great to see how well it works in the USA on one of America's greatest Automotive names.
The Commodore is a very capable car and the Camero sheetmetal looks great....
Always love you Jay!
I like this car very much and with a light upgrade package is more than enough!
SUPER NICE Jay !!!!!!!
01:15 I thought he was going to say "That's why I prefer... slender people." Haha.
Great car. I love Hennessey. I hope you live to 125 years. You the best. I’ve watched every night show. Every video. You deserve happiness. 🙏🙏🙏👍✌️❤️😎
glad someone out there caught that.
Thanks Jay.
Nice car and a great sound
I'm struggling to see it as a future collectible car.
Very nice, drives nicely. Nice.
Love your videos Jay, post a video of your camaro!
Hey man, nice attempt at English slang, you did alright in my book... it's also nice to see someone in Europe appreciate the raw talents of the C6 generation Corvette! Rock on! \m/
I actually, literally came while watching this, what a sound man! :o :))
This is a good car for Leno. It makes his head look tiny.
Sounds pretty damn good for stock back half exhaust
sounds great
Good eye. Very good. Wasn't paying close attention to John.
after ur comment and looking it up it makes sense now. thanks.
Great video jay now let's see your turbo v6 you got
I wanna see Jays twin turbo v6 Camaro!!
what do you mean that it's not covered by warranty if it used for racing? do you think i bought it to park it and enjoy the looks of it?
wow man, hectic stuff!
25 grand? For rims, splitters, and a supercharger with stock internals? Am I missing something lol
Honald Trinton Rims and tires- $3000
Superchargerkit-$8000
Carbon fiber work~$4000
Hennessy name stickers$10000
LOL
Honald Trinton yes, hes a known crook
Do the work yourself then...
Not as bad as the Cadillac he brought on, 20k for a pulley kit and an intake
Ur just an idiot then!
I couldn't decide. Z28 and the new Boss Ford. I'd switch up every once and a while. Never been partial to the convertable though. Realy short summers up in Canada.
Jay's rocking some killer bedhead this episode.
This was the chase car while he was doing the review of the Cadillac CTSV.
I think it's all a matter of personal preference. The truth is that these newer cars do have a good amount of CFM through those stock exhaust parts. It is also nicer to not disturb the whole county to just drive it to the store and back. I love the idea of having a loud exhaust only when you want it to be loud.
Jay Leno's life is a wet dream.
Well said
That's a beautiful car.
That was well said, no replacement for immaturity. Hopefully I won't end up losing it somewhere along the line.
what's the point in bolt ons if the engine isn't tuned after ?
@shivam86 how much force/air the supercharger is putting out.
Good one jay
Jay’s TwinTurbo V6 would have a good chance on this one.
A monte carlo bar connects front fenders not the strut towers but still very similar.
Well said.
jay nice to see you wearing a seatbelt it's important to set the example especially for the young uns
I'm not a Camero fan nor a mustang groupie. Now the Trans Am, yes. Owned four birds and always took time to smoke and grill a Camero or mustang. Le sigh. Miss those cars. Lol
Keep it up Jay.
Highway Wonderland.
It is a ratio between the volume of a combustion chamber and cylinder, when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke and the volume when the piston is at the top of its stroke. The higher the compression ratio, the more mechanical energy an engine can squeeze from its air-fuel mixture.
wow I dint know that thanks for saying something or else I would have never looked into it
I noticed that too:)
are the new turbo's more efficient less peaky ( spooling I think it would be referred to as) as the old ones. have they made any improvements, or is the supercharger still the way to go?once i had my accident, i pretty much just gave up on bikes, cars, etc ( depression, pain quite the bitch). but now im going on 39 maybe a mid life crises. seems im getting back into cars. anyhow, thanks for the video jay, never grow up, once you do you may as well be six feet under. peace.
Jay what about the Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster, which doesn't add any weight for convertible
I wish John Hennessy was My best friend 😌.. that guy built some legendary cars..
thank you man, appreciate it ;)....well besides i am actually an automotive engineer, i´m not all about perfect interior, or built quality, I love cars that have a heart and soul, drivers cars....and which car is better at that, than a C6 Z06?! it has all the ingredients, a big V8, low weight, a great sound, a lovely 6 speed manual, great brakes, 50/50 weight distribution, and so on... ;)
Every camaro from 1970s and 2013 are sexy! And the engine sounds cool too. Tho this one wasn't that amazing on design, the engine was great
lolol what part of angels crest would a splitter and wing come into play?
Jay you should take a look at the 2013 ford taurus. Ford stepped up there game!
By the way i subbed to you haha. You got some interesting video's by the way.
Love ya Jay
cool!
If they were both in convertible trim & manual, I'm not so sure? #'s I saw estimated the 2013 GT500 convertible @4 sec and the HPE600 Hennessey was estimated at 3.9 sec.
It's, beautiful....
I'm just so tired of everybody putting supercharger on every car. That's why I love the new Mustang GT350. 526hp all motor.
the camaro z28 has like 700
+Justin Fields 505*
***** If it was turbo, it would be sweet.
+blackericdenice , did you mean to say, BURNETHEJEW SANDERS?
Joe Magnets
truealchemy Not anymore.
Hows the uk motor industry doing?
Hennessey makes a nice product. I can only imagine how much more fun my SS would be with a blower.
Jay mentions the web site, but it's so much easier to access the videos here. The size of the car, it's mass, height, etc., takes a lot away from the appeal for me, compared to smaller sports cars. Or, watch Jay drive Steve McQueen's Jaguar, and check out his reaction to that. That's the way to go.
There is a Camaro HPE 725 here in Oklahoma. It looked awesome. Never got to ride in it tho. I wonder what Hennessey could do with my 1986 Bronco. :)
+Jeremy Menchaca Fit a roll cage for a start!
Hennessey are the bosses man... take a look at the VelociRaptor 800... insane!
oh my god that is a beautiful damn
I second that
jay you can call it what you want, look at this take the suspension for instance anti roll bar also call a also called anti sway bar etc so i say call it what you want like you said its your website
that thing sounds fucking awesome
Love to have that car💕
they used this as the camera car for the CTS-V700 video... was this the same day?
I was just about to comment on that.
Not sure if it was the same day. Possibly though.
Hey Jay...I just got my 20 11 SS/RS Convertible and it only has 14,000 miles on it < 3/4/2022>....that's fixing to change !~!~!~!~
I agree. That kind of cash spent at Nelson Racing Engines would make for a little more nastiness. Of course, Hennessy needs to make a profit, and if he's gonna smash records with things like the Venom GT, I guess the stiff price is going to a greater cause.
Igual ao que tinha em Curitiba!
cool
That was exactly what I wanted to see. A quarter mile pass would have been cool but ya know, all of the WOT balsts and a burn into 2nd or 3rd gear..... "2 outa three aint bad"
Jay, is that correct that the Hemi engine with auto gearbox only came with a 90 day warranty? I've never heard you tell that story before..... 😆
whats the up grade $20,000? something like that!!!! ( small change to some)
I have a 2ss/rs LS3 and I agree, I would rather have a ZL1. I REALLY like the Mustang Boss Laguna Seca though, that car is sick.
When Jay says that he means more horse power is being squeezed out of your standard model without bolt-ons such as this being added. These days you see 320+ horsepower v6's. That wasn't seen in the past
I don't understand who would buy a car like this, and then have everybody do the work!
looks much better with the hard top
For a week after the storm, he was able to power some lights and electronics chargers with the aid of a few heavy-duty extension cords and a 100-watt power inverter plugged into his car’s lighter outlet. Once he figured that out, he upgraded to a 300-watt inverter to power his entire home - he used 8.9 gallons of gas to do this.He wasn’t able to use a heater, but lights on and charing his electronic devices was enough - more power than hundreds of thousands of other customers have had recently.
I wish he would have done something with the exhaust because those SS's can sound meannnnn
Motortrend youtube show Roadkill is a pretty good one as well
While a 10 horsepower gain might have been true on a previous generation Camaro, it isn't as true on the current ones. The exhaust is extremely well designed, engineered, and manufactured to produce a good tone, an acceptable volume, respectable fuel economy, and good performance. They have come a long way in the past 9 years or so since the Camaro was discontinued. And like I originally said, it's all a matter of preference.
if you bolt all that on dont u need an ECU tune or something? or is it just throw it on and go have fun?
Hey Jay,
Do the Jaguar CX-16 Concept, please.
That's it.
