- Hi! Yeah, it's not a joke, I'm developing my own creature catcher in Unity. This is a side project with a VERY small team, so don't expect to see it anytime soon, but I'll do my best to keep you all updated as the project progresses.

I’m not sure what your plans are for world design, but if there is going to be any form of desert, i request a creature based on the sand cat. They look just odd enough compared to other cats, and the fact that their paws are covered with fur as to not leave a trail in the sand can be converted to something more ghostly of it being spectre-like and floating right above the sand. While I haven’t had this idea for a crosspath evolution, maybe one side results in a more sphinx like design, and the other extreme could go all in on the spook with mummy cat. And for the middle, maybe something with influence from the Egyptian god Bast? Cause that seems like a good in between
Just the title and the intro got me interested in this video. I love the 2d sprites, especially in Pokemon rom hacks and fan-mad games like Radical Red and Pokemon Uranium, so I hope to see you create

You could make a monster catching world where recently in a very special spot new mutations have been visited, unknown to the public its a special monster, not yet known, and is about to get captured by the wrong people or is already in their hands, something along those lines :)

Explain
I recommend watching on 1.25x speed
Heres a weird effect idea I had for cosmic and how it could effect the battlefield, what if it completely remove the effect and made so no new one could be applied except deus which would be letting moves change the battlefield again
The thought behind this being everything seeming insignificant to the vastness of space while deus meaning god could imply creaton, filling that space with something again
While I have absolutely no ideas or helpful advice, I wish you luck in the development process.
Can we get Default Cube as an actual monster
Out of curiousity, do you plan to have an eevee style monster once the type chart is finalized? While such a thing would break from the evolution branching of others, it would be neat to see how a monster that could evolve into any type would work in game
An interesting idea! Maybe something like Eevee that could become every type, but I'm really not sure yet.
I suggest checking out and possibly even talking to a youtuber called gym leader ed. monster collectors are his thing and he even does this thing called monster tamer direct for these games.

Hey, what are your thoughts on the story for this game? How much writing do you think this game needs?
Uhhhh probably a decent chunk! I'm not sure, as it's my first time making a "long" game! But I'm shooting for at least 6 hours of story at a regular pace, so probably a lot!
Heres a monster idea, a dragon monster whos lines split between eastern and western dragons
Heres another, wolf whos split lines are in reference to cerberus and werewolves
Another one cosmic monster inspired by black holes and biblically accurate angels by having a black center, light effect representing iris, and space debris representing wings.
Also a deus monster thats a robot inspired by metatron, so it can be reading a book or something
The last two are supposed to be ironic to the meaning of their element of course
