This is my 4th Prophet…2 rev 3.2’s, a rev 3.3, and now a rev 4. Incredible synth that sits well in any mix, yet cuts thru a mix. Built like a rock…awesome creamy sound…and now a 😊great keybed as well. I love this thing…and it’s now WAY better than ever. Like I said, you made a great purchase !! Congrats…
Awesome! I’m glad you found it helpful. You’ll love it. It’s by far my favorite synth I’ve ever played, let alone owned. It lends itself perfectly to those dark, creepy sounds. Crime, horror and thriller music is my favorite. Can’t get enough. Actually, you should check out @sonicneutronic too. He turned me on to the P5 and also plays horror stuff.
the first part of the vid reminded me of sound track from the block buster escape from new york !!! you know with kurt russel !!! best movie ever... that thing can make any damn sound imanagable ,i cant spell cuz im so amazed! you rock jason !!!
Thanks man, that’s much appreciated! That movie does rule! That’s actually a track from my Horror/Thriller album I put out a few months back. Glad you dig it!
@riffsthatrule Hahaha. You and me both! I'd like to have an OB-X8 to go with my Prophet 10. Those two synths sound incredible by themselves. Imagine how good they both would sound together in a track!
@@riffsthatrule I 💯 agree! It would be very interesting to hear a TEO-5 together with a Prophet 5. The TEO-5 seems to be capable of a lot, possibly more than the OB-X8, polyphony voice count aside.
@@kvmoore1 I’ll have to post a jam using both soon. Good idea! For sure, the mod matrix is pretty powerful. I’m tempted to get the voice expansion down the road a bit. It’s my favorite synth so I might as well deck it out haha
I like the look of the Prophet 5 you received from Sequential. How does the potentiometers feels when turning them? On Prophet 6 they are very light with almost no resistance. On a Trigon 6 they are very hard to turn in the beginning before they are softened up.
Thanks man! I’m loving it so far. The knobs are very sturdy and solid feeling. I wouldn’t say very hard to turn at all and not loose either. Just the perfect balance with that premium feel. Also, the knobs are bigger and more spaced out than their other synths which I also love. I used to own a rev2 so I’m mostly comparing it to that.
@@riffsthatrule Thank you! I think it would take much time for me now if I want to save up for one myself since I've got the Trigon-6 which was very pricy. However Prophet 5 is a real instrument with a look and feel unique like no other and it has a history from a legend that invented poly and midi and saving presets. And by the way the reason I asked for the knob turn-stiffness was because the Trigon 6 is a real finger exercise before they getting somewhat runned in. And after not being used they go back to a hard turn again haha. Guess they will lose up a bit over time. Mine is way to new right now.
@@infestedalien Of course! Yeah, Dave Smith was a badass! Totally, I’m in the same boat but couldn’t be happier with the P5. By far my favorite synth I’ve ever played, let alone owned. Haha damn well, I guess that’s better than them being so loose they turn themselves haha
It’s definitely enough for me. I do a lot of sequences, arpeggios and drone stuff and it’s been amazing. When I do play it more piano style, I’ve never found myself wanting more. That’s just me though. If you’re a piano player primarily, maybe this would affect you more. What you could do is, get the P5 now and if for whatever reason down the road you find yourself needing more voices, just get the card upgrade from Sequential and pop it in. Then you’ll have a P10
You play like I do. Mostly in C minor chords. Because I know it the best and it allows me to hit the lowest note on the keyboard. Anyway, awesome keyboard, man.
Haha for sure, thanks man. I’m primarily a guitar player so I just pick a few keys on synths and rock those for the most part. Definitely like grabbin’ some low C octaves though.

Wow, you’ve had a lot of them! Completely agree with everything you said! Love mine too and I really believe it’s the best synth for me! Thanks man🙏🍻
Im happy i found you cuz you gotta be the first one who plays it the “dark way” 🔥 You made me buy it and 12:28 is insane

Congrats on a great purchase. A classic that will last for years, and keep it’s value. I love mine !!
100%. Thanks man! It’s my favorite synth of all time! Just has that special mojo, ya know? Haha
Fabulous video showcasing the Prophet 5, the exact kick I was after. Thank you !
Thank you very much! Glad you found it helpful!
6:20 ☝️😭🔥 AHHHH! Subscribed!
Thanks man! Much appreciated🙏 “I am the writing on the wall, the whisper in the classroom…”
yeah man. I bought the 10 last year. Incredible instrument.
100% agree! Beautiful look, sound and feel. Up there with the best of ‘em for sure.
Hahah that’s awesome - you’ve waited a long time for that bad boy to arrive and it’s finally here !
Enjoy the heck out of it mate 🎉 😀🎥🎹🎥🎸
Haha for sure! Thanks man, you rule! Writing some stuff together is imminent 🤜🍻

Well done, mate. Enjoy owning a Legend❤❤❤
Thank you! It’s so cool how much history it has😎
We need a comparison video of this one and the OB-X8 :)
I agree! I’d love to do it, just gotta find 5 grand first haha😅

Haha 💯! For now, pairing the Prophet with the TEO-5 has been an awesome match! Maybe some day for the OB-X8 but🤷♂️😂

How do you find the 5 note polyphony? Enough or does it leave you wanting a little more? I am deliberating between the 5 and the 10.

No keyboard pin?
Haha I did actually get one but I forgot to show it
How much was that bad boy?
Thanks for stoppin’ by! It was $3,600 before tax😅
Get that add on with your 5k guitar.
You buy me one and I’ll do it…
