Yeah, I forgot to mention that it was an open box(same day return). I usually wouldn’t do that but otherwise I would’ve had to wait another month or so, so I gave it a try and all was well🙌

100%! I remembered the T5 right after I put the video up😝. Is that the only other synth to have that feature though? So currently just the T5 and TEO5?

@@riffsthatrule I posed the question of a split transpose to ChatGPT. It suggested the Korg mono/poly, DX7, Juno 106, Jupiter 8, and some Nord Stages. I can’t verify if those were correct though. (I’m away from my 106, and no direct experience with the others)

That’s cool if that’s accurate! I was under the impression that it was just the T5 and TEO. Would love to know if your 106 has it when you get a chance to check!

@@ytJnC I‘m pretty sure that this is not true. The Junos and Jupiters have habe 5-octave keyboards and thus don‘t need this feature. Of course you can make two different patches on the JP-8 and the Nords and transpose them by one or more octaves. But what Sequential introduced is a split within one and the same patch!

what is wrong with the gain staging for you? care to explain?

@@kujumz when oscillators pushed not very careful you can can have a unmusical sound, hard to explain, I tell you what I felt, I got Take 5 for 2 years and I was not happy with it as much as I tried, the synths are great in general, the digital part with the modulation is perfect, the filters are great also but the core sound has something that not makes me happy, and I feel the same with this one from the demos, and I had a lot of synths in 20 years when I start making music. Of course is personal impression, I saw on forms there people that feels like me but indeed to that many like the rest that likes them

I hear you. To each their own. I feel the opposite. The raw tone of this thing is awesome and I find it near impossible to make it sound bad. Super easy and intuitive to use all of its features as well

@@plutostube that's not how gain staging works, it's to do with the amount of voices you have and how you spread that over the frequency spectrum, a perfect example is the Polybrute 6 vs the 12, the 12 has less gain staging than the 6 due to 6 more voices, which means when you play lower registers on the PB6, they will sound better than the PB12. The Fletcher Munson curve has a lot to do with how gain staging works too, especially when frequencies are involved.

Haha yeah, what everyone else does, I typically do the opposite. For sure! It’s actually extremely useful with the limited key range. Love how quick and easy it is to dial in. They nailed it with that feature
