Just got the book! Wow, there is a huge amount of content available, this is just what I was looking for, after over a year of not gigging and playing with other musicians I have of late been very lacking in motivation and struggling to pick up my instrument, your new book is going to help me get back on track. Thank you Janek!

I really enjoyed the repetition and could see & hear myself focusing on different aspects of the phrase as you played it. Really glad I picked up this book as part of the Triple Bundle and while I’m still working my way through the Pentatonics, I’m looking forward to diving into this one. Thanks again!

It sounded as if it was difficult at first but after hearing it a few times, I started playing this passage and I felt very comfortable and enjoyed playing it. As with other musical phases I've learned from you, I will find a way to use it. I feel like I understand why the notes are used in this arrangement after learning to play it. I'm no musical genius but I've learned to play by ear and your lessons certainly has helped me tremendously. Thank you very much Maestro !!!

Hallo Janek!Repeating over and over and over feels really good and finally after a cupple minutes you start to feel it and and get in the mood of the line.I think repeating is the key and is a big part of my practice routine......Thank you for the new book I just ordered it on amazon and can't wait to practice with it!!!Greetings from Germany Regards Niko

Those 2m minutes. I decided to listen with my eyes shut to not focus on anything else. it was interesting. I found myself consumed by the experience but also trying to gauge when time would be up (only because I knew it was an inevitable ending coming). I am very interested and will likely purchase your material Janek. Thanks!

This is a great book, Janek. That John Coltrane 2 line I literally practiced for an hour because it's so damn fun to play. I've noticed my handicaps with timing and spacing. This is why playing at a slower tempo forces me to listen. The repetition of the lines you talked about works for me because the lines you chose for the book are great on the ears. Cheers

Driving home from work and just started singing the line over and over with you. Got into “the zone” really quickly. Could have kept going. I love Chick and that line was hip, I think I need to try working on less for longer amounts of time in my own practice.

I transcribed it without having the book and played it for 2 minutes straight, three times so far. It's a really good workout for me cause my bass is in drop C (CGCF) so the highest note in this line is the very last fret for me on my jazz bass. I feel exhilarated and exhausted at once

First I'm feeling it. After about one minute I start analyzing. I noticed your consistency, you seem to have a light touch on the strings all the way through. You're almost not moving the test of your body, sitting perfectly straight. Very relaxed right hand. Your pinky is moving pretty wide. I'm trying to identify patterns in your lines. Lines stay in one position.
Later I will try to understand which notes you play over which chord.
I probably would have made a noticeable mistake on the 3rd repetition.

Great topic Janek and exciting looking practice book. But "Jazz Is Not a Mystery | It's Curiosity and Hard Work" please unpack more. I understand I can learn these great lines by rote, but still, when I hear them they sound as if a higher being has created them and its compounded in live/recorded jazz when the other musos are doing substitutions and alterations and stuff to change the landscape all the time. Are you suggesting I could fake my way into jazz by thoroughly assimilating a set of lines and whipping them out and laying them on the table like Im actually intellectually inventing them or hearing them on the fly?. Some more philosophy, insights etc on this would be very interesting . Ive never heard anyone discuss this in a way that opens doors for jazz beginners.

@@janekgwizdala Thank you very much for your quick response. I take advantage of your presence to ask you: are your books designed to be worked in a specific order? @@ultimatefab There is not a set order for the books in terms of ability level. They all do different things, and pretty much all cater for all levels.
