Install a bonded vent window in your van | Van build

Vent window in your panel van, the vent window measures 580 x 200 mm from Leisure Vehicle Windows, I tried other suppliers but couldn't find anyone else selling 580 x 200 mm vent windows with internal fly screens.
The usual size for these windows are 780 x 240 mm, I would have installed one of these however it would have been too tall for the space I wanted to fit it in and would have made framing the window difficult or impossible!
Overall I'm really happy with how easy the install of this vent window was and would happily install them again in the future.

So that's how you traced the template! Been breaking my head over it. All the parts sticking out make it hard to use wood and a router. Thanks!

What are the pros and cons of a vent window compared to a regular roof vent (which is even bigger)?

large single glazed windows let out a lot of the heat inside your van or let it in depending on the climate. Depending on where you are in the world the larger bonded windows that cover an entire panel don't come with fly screens as standard so if you're near water then you may end up keeping the windows closed all the time. It's more down to personal preference :-) the vent windows work really well in conjunction with a roof vent/fan for allowing a good airflow through the van.
