Just picked it up 2 weeks ago. Struggling to find youtube resources specifically for this. Imagine how excited it was when this notification popped up on my phone! Thank you!
GREAT VIDEO! I moved into an apartment without outdoor space last year and had to give up my smoker. I bought this grill to tailgate with instead. I fired it up last weekend. I love it! forgot how much I miss cooking 'low and slow' or smoking meats. This stuff you made a video about is brilliant! Can't wait to piece together my 'set up' thanks to you!! Big Thanks!!
They look good. My work mate has one but I didn’t release there were other attachments. I think I’m going to look at getting one. Thanks from nz Churr bro
I have just ordered it for my birthday next week because I have max. 3 persons to feed on normal days, but it should fit me as a single person as well. The price of a gas bottle is abnormally high, but charcoal is still cheap at the moment. I think this grill is something to be pretty independent because you can take it with you at spots you like, or just use it on your balcony. I like the way additional stuff is created to have more use from this grill. Cheers from Germany, Bernd
Great video. Mrs is looking at getting a tiny little portable grill for camping (us and 2 young kids). Looking forward to the Weber GA videos to try convince her it's worth the extra cost over a Kmart or Anaconda $30 el cheapo brand grill.
What a lil beauty the WGA is. That is one smick setup and it's a wonder there isn't a lil sns style waterwall that could be used in conjunction with the adjustable plate. cheers.
Wow, I didn't realize there was so much mods, accessories, I just got a weber go anywhere and I think there could have been a better grill with this, thats juzt me. I was looking for a cast iron grill for this, im looking forward to using soon, fishing and camping, thanks for a great vid and taking the time to do it
Great video. The new ones have no handles on the sides, it is a pain to cook without. I burnt holes in my last Weber Go Anywhere and would like to buy another one, but with handles on the side.
Happily sponsored by Oklahoma Joes. Definitely would have led to a few Weber sales though. I use Weber as they are relatable to the every day BBQ’er. Appreciate the kind words. 🙏
@@LownSlowBasics in a way it's awesome to know you're not sponsored by Weber TBH. Whenever a UA-camr is doing a sponsored product review, I can't help by wonder how much of an unbiased review is given.
@@BrianF.1969 oh great, there's a vid on that? imma go look for it. that was the one i keep thinking about maybe getting. seems the stuff you get for the added stuff is worth it. plus, the height.
I've always thought these things were too small for doing anything but hot dogs and hamburgers. That offset plate really opens up a lot of opportunities for indirect cooking and seems like it can be stored in the grill itself so it's not taken up any more room. I'm looking forward to seeing your cooks on this grill.
Honestly one of the more difficult items I've found to cook with. Up to my 3rd attempt, and on 2 occasions have had to pull out the gas barbecue to finish off. Obviously I know I am doing something wrong, but I never thought I was that bad a barbecuer.
What is the difficulty ? This thing with some thought is not only easy but very versatile. Start simple, just some direct cooking. Then move on, experiment. And keep practicing because no one is an expert right away.
i just got one and my first attempt was last night. i found it super challenging, in ways that i don't think would be a problem on a larger grill. room for multiple items but also the sear space is so close to the coals it just blackens. still kicking around the idea of getting a kettle for more complex stuff, or more items.
I love my Weber go anywhere but I find it tricky to move the vents. They don't slide up and down as easily as I wish they did. Any tips would be much appreciated!
Excellent videos. Any chance of doing a turkey recipe on the Webber go anywhere with the riser? It would be great to surprise the in-laws at Christmas.
I have long been looking for a portable table to set this grill up on. I'm not sure if the heat would damage the surface of a lot of the options available. What are other people using?
Can I order it being in the United States. I just bought a Weber go anywhere for sca competition and I wasn’t even thinking about clearance for the lid being on and steak weight being on the steak at the same time
Looking forward to seeing what content you put together using the Weber Go Anywhere!! It looks like it'll be the perfect little beast for small cooks at home, or to take away for day trips or wknds away. Let's go 🥩🐖🍗🍽🍻🙌🏾
The WGA is an awesome cooking tool but you need some time to figure it out. I reckon "small" charcoal pieces (I settled on Kingsford coz' the btiquette size was ideal) which I find burn better in the WGA than larger chunks. The array of accesories shown in this presentation has the potential to take the WGA to a totally different level.
i guess it really does have a learning curve. i tried translating info i learned on YT to this little things and.... mixed results. burned the hell out of some butternut squash (tiny ones, in half), but still it tasted amazing. probably the best item last night. i also had some asparagus on one of those trays with holes punched out, and some burgers.... i guess the whole sear side/time plus the cooler side takes time to know how long to use. also amount of coal! and mine was so close to the great the searing side burned stuff up quick. lid on/off.... how are you supposed to know which one to do? mine wouldn't have fit with that tray tho. i had food on one end, and had the other end hang off the grill so i had 2 zones. the whole time i kept thinking... maybe the GA just isn't too good for more than burgers or cooking a single item... :/ trying to do 3 items or have them come out at the same time.... nope.
Only me that's somewhat dissapointed with the GA? Warning, rant: Mine didn't come with the side handles, so moving it about once it's going is a pain. The notches on the top aren't pronounced enough, meaning if you're moving it about with the top handle, sometimes the legs go swinging. If you have this out and about, the lid isn't attached/hinged, so it means you have to place it somewhere. If you're on a beach, or a park, you have to put it on the ground, meaning dirt/sand gets on it. No multi-level cooking. You have to set your coals up so that you have a direct/indirect heat. Previous portable barbeques I had folded out with two levels, meaning grilling your patties on the lower level, and toasting your buns on the top one. It's not that easy to transport - if you're taking it to a park for 10min+ walk, you'll be moving it from the right hand to the left because it's awkward to carry for any longer distances. Metal adjusters - twisting the tops and opening the vents up the bottom requires a tool once you're going - too hot to touch with the hands. At least it's well built 🤷
Hey loved the video, I just got one of these for Christmas, just wondering if you are smoking a brisket using the rise and the heat deflector do you still need to move your brisket around or does the deflector plate allow for on direct cooking without moving the meat?
Thanks for the video, did not know such mods were out there. As a three season (Canada) BBQ’er Next to high elevation thin air camping areas, the ability to get heat by doubling the charcoal makes this way more useful than a propane portable. This mods are amazing, I stopped at sawing the factory cooking grate in half and adding cast iron araycort grates. Lodge cast iron cookware is a good mod too.
What’s up from South Africa ! I’m looking at getting a Weber my options are the 57cm Weber compact and the original Weber kettle with would you recommend?
