Thank you Thank you Thank you for the spreadsheet showing the keyboard travel for all the different computers
Very deep insight, thank you!
Very welcome.
Very in depth!
Thanks for the warm comment. 🙂👍
thanks for the review, my mom just bought this ^^
Oooh. It's a lovely system.
Great review, very in-depth! But yeah minus the Thunderbolt 4, I'd wait for the AMD model. Speaking of which I thought they were supposed to release in May, wonder how long till we get them in-stock.
Thanks for the warm comment. The T14 Gen 2 (AMD) regular version is apparently coming into availability in some markets (e.g. US) with a high price & some shipping wait (via the Lenovo site). Imagine that T14s Gen 2 (AMD) will probably follow eventually. Curious if the price premium will be there (vs Gen 1). If so then the T14 / T14s Gen 1 AMD will be worth a second look.
Just ordered the AMD model and I can't wait to get it!
Oooh.
I ordered mine yesterday cant wait to get it too
Which would you choose: ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 with i7-1185G7 + 32 GB RAM vs. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 with i5-1145G7 + 16 GB RAM?
They're approximately the same price from what I'm seeing as well.
T14s G2 - given the non upgradable ram on both models.
Thank you for your useful reviews!
Is the Thinkpad T14s AMD5; 16GB RAM; 256GB SSD at 923€ a deal?
Seems decent.
Damn i was just looking for a short review, to see if its worth buying, you made a damn phd dissertation on this ;-)
Glad to see you've found it.
I just got my T14s gen 2 and I love it.
Thanks for the review! What would you choose between:
Lenovo ThinkPad T14s G2 AMD
(14.0", Full-HD IPS matt (1920 x 1080, 400nits), AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 5850U OctaCore (1.90 bis 4.40 GHz), 1TB NVMe-SSD, 32GB RAM, AMD Radeon™ RX Vega 8 Grafik shared, IR-Webcam)
and
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon G9
(14.0", WUXGA IPS matt (1920 x 1200, 16:10, 400nits), Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 QuadCore (2.80 bis 4.70 GHz), 1TB PCIe 4.0x4 SSD, 32GB RAM, Intel® Iris Xe Grafik shared, NFC)
I usually work on multiple documents, outlook, Teams/Zoom, etc., excel, at the same time. No coding, but lots of videos etc. I would buy them with a Student discount and they both cost between 1400 and 1700 EUR:
Thank you in advance.
Anna
How is the upward facing speaker grills ? Will the dust and particles get in that ?
Better than downwards firing speakers, but ues, it will trap dusts over time as you'd expect. 😶

T14s actually uses same platform as x13, not t14
Cool cool cool cool.
Shame it's not black anymore!:(

I got this laptop from my employee. I have to say it’s bullshit.
😱 Ouch. Intel or AMD version?
@GreenGreen Store Intel. When I compare it with my XMG gaming laptop it’s pure crap. Besides the battery everything is worse. The screen is not that good, the keyboard is squishy and hasn’t got good responses. I even have to tap some keys twice. The trackpad and the keys from the trackpad r squishy and doesn’t recognize every click.
