I will never forget the moment I heard of the shooting in Vegas, I wrote him a long letter & mailed it to the hospital. Around the time it should have arrived, he had passed away. I was such (always will be too) a super fan all my friends & family were calling me asking if I was alright bc I cried as if my family member was gone. A lot of ppl thought I was crazy bc how could I feel for a person I didn’t know & had never met? I can’t tell you that, all I know is that I did. I went out a few nights later to a primarily white bar so to speak, climbed up to the DJ booth in a dress and wedges lol & demanded they play Pac…he agreed & myself & 2 of my closest friends threw down on that dance floor for him. I was drunk yet bawling with tears streaming yet smiling at the same time. I will never forget Sept 7th thru Sept 13th 1996 & I’m really happy I made ppl around me acknowledge this legend & artistic genius as well as the King of rap bc that’s exactly what he was & still is. Rest easy Tupac Amaru Shakur!! The world loved you & so did (do) I!! Always. 🖤

His influence has helped me through alot of difficult phases of my life. Having God's oversight, along with that "Thug Life" mentality and channeling it with positive energy has enabled me to go "Against All Odds".

Tupac was special. He made a lot of mistakes and said stupid things from time to time, but he was extremely intelligent and had so much to offer the world. It is hard to realize how young he was. He was in this position to change the world with millions of eyes on him when he was barely even an adult. I wonder what he could have been if he had more time to mature and use the intelligence that he had. His impact on the world could have been far greater than music. His awareness of the world and his desire to change it were prevalent throughout his music, and I wonder what he could have accomplished if he had more time. He might have truly been able to make a difference. He was a natural leader with a charisma that made people want to listen to what he had to say. That is an ability that few people have. He was truly a special person that was caught in the middle of a life and situation that he did not have the power to control. It's hard to listen to his music sometimes, because I just think of how much more he had to say.

When are young men going to realize that others are trying to use them to make themselves rich. He said he wasn't the gangster he spoke about in his songs, that it was only an image that he had to portrait to be popular and sell records. He lost his way when the lines got blurred and his pretend became a reality. Many are wondering what it would be if he was still alive today. He was destined to die young. He was too fast on his way to destruction. So much talent and so much beauty sacrificed to the mighty dollar. RIP

In his music he spoke black power and unity, but he was running with the bloods and stomping our crips and partying hard with porn stars and had rapists in his inner circle who were at fault for him going to prison. Pac was/is so original the memory can't be forgotten. Because it's too real to forget. Pac said something that went over most peoples head back then, and perhaps even more so now. He said something like... "I didn't take over a position or slot that someone had vacated". He created the "thug life " persona. That forced him to not have a blueprint to follow, so he had to stumble along the way. He wanted to stand in between the rich and the poor, have and have nots. To spark the brain(s) that would change/cleanup the world. To someday force the fake to be real.

Nobody looks at Tupac as a role model; that’s complete bullshit, fabricated to produce a certain narrative. People idolize his positive traits and his talent, and curse the things about him that pushed him towards the streets, because they robbed the world of an immense talent. If you can’t understand the difference you should refrain from making broad generalizations about people you’ve never even spoken to. I knew if I scrolled long enough I’d see some stupid bullshit like this and voila, I was 100% correct.

I agree. The common argument “(insert deceased musican here) is only relevant because they passed away at a young age.” Who would’ve thought Eminem would still be making good music at fifty? Tupac was different. He was so brilliant, chatismatic, an old soul, a shining star. The world was robbed of whatever he would be doing right now. Probably not chilling with Martha Stewart. Why is it always the good ones.
