I'm interested to know what brand paint that is your using? Because paint doesn't stick to kayak plastic lol. Not even paint that's made for plastic sticks.
Rustoleum Camouflage. It's for plastic, but it doesn't "bite" into HDPE. I'm just dusting the paint on, hit it or slide against it with something and it will scrape off. Rubbing and water use it holds up just fine.
Of all the tools you have in your garage I think the ATM is the best. Screw fixing a broken part, just walk over to the ATM grab some cash and go buy a new one.
Nice job iv got a 14ft Jon boat that iv been restoring and like what you have done and shared What was the base color and what were the other colors you used
Great job on the paint! I just painted with my kayak with the same colors. Did you have to wait many days for the paint to bond? I noticed the paint can easily be scratched off the polyethylene kayak. Thanks for the video!
Thanks, glad you liked it. Good prep is required for the paint to adhere properly, and applying it too thick could cause problems too. It will scratch off mine also, but not easily. It IS easily touched up though, one more thing that is nice about camo.
hi there! im from holland and a yakfisher.. i wonder what these mokai costs? i did a camo paintjob my self on a kayak maybe its cool to see my vid aswel.
How many cans of khaki and brown did you use? I'll be using 6 cans of green as the base for my project but having a hard time figuring out the amount of the other colors.
Thanks for getting back to me. I was very curious as to the patterns after the base coat. I think I purchased to much for my project then. I'll just keep the unused in the truck. You never know when you might need it. :)
The paint is almost $5 a can, so it depends on how big your Jon boat is. This was cheap for me because the base color was the boat color already. I only needed a can of Khaki, and Brown to complete.
You are the Bob Ross of boat painting.
at first I was saying NOOO! but it came out beautiful! well done!
Thanks, after all these years it still looks great too. Very happy with it still! Glad you like it. :D
Looks great, man. Good job!
Super Nice, Hope your waterfowl Planation is same dark color. mine is a bit more leaf green. 5 stares for your job
this is a really cool job.
excellent job...looks factory pro
Green is the color of the hull, then Khaki and Brown last.
Great job five *****
Thanks! :o))

Love your boat. Got one question what shade of green is your base?
Base was the color of the boat, but Rustoleum Camouflage colors has one that is very close.
top job.. very nice what color did you use and what order.. thanks bro
Khaki and brown, in that order, as shown in the video. ;) Thanks.
ImprovingYourMokai ..thanks for your help

Depends on what year model, they range from $2000-$5500.
How many cans of khaki and brown did you use? I'll be using 6 cans of green as the base for my project but having a hard time figuring out the amount of the other colors.
The base layer takes the most paint. The two top layers, Khaki and Brown here, didn't use half a can each for this job.
Thanks for getting back to me. I was very curious as to the patterns after the base coat. I think I purchased to much for my project then. I'll just keep the unused in the truck. You never know when you might need it. :)
Glad to help. I used Palmetto fronds and Fern leaves for the patterns.
I've been working and got a Jon boat and I'm restoring it was this pretty cheap?
