You could probably have turned the Fireball a bit louder in this comparison, but i still like it because it kinda gives an impression of what the actual experience is with these amps! The Special Edition is a beast! I have the Fireball and i'm always impressed how versatile it is and how good it sounds, even compared to bigger Engls like the Invader.
Yeah I‘ve heard the little volume drop later in the recordings as well. I‘m also always pleasantly surprised about the Fireball. Such an underrated amp for very good money. 🔥
Cool shootout 🤘🔥🤘 Always wanted to get a Fireball and thought it sounded really good especially for keeping up with big boys. Is it running EL84s in the power section ? Cheers 🍻
Great video, I have had all these amps, and more, and can honestly say that the new SE is my favorite BUT the Artist Edition is 99% the same core tone of lead I mode on the SE. Fireball was nice but a little congested in the low-mids, comparatively. If you like the SE but want to get a nearly identical tone, for cheaper, go with the Artist. You do miss the mega lo punch and depth boost, which do sound great for the low end beefiness but 99% of the time you're going to use Lead I without those modes enabled, which is basically the Artist Edition's hi-gain channel
Thanks a lot mate. Much appreciated! Please subscribe and share, if you don’t mind. :) I‘d love to try the Artist Edition. Never had the opportunity yet. But your description really made me even more curious. Especially because of the way lower price tag on the Artist. :)
It would be amazing to compare the SE with other big ENGL-heads to make that comparison a bit more fair in terms of versatility and sound-shaping,midi-options. -Savage -Morse -Invader -Smolski That would be a very interesting comparison of ENGL’s most versatile flagship-amplifiers.🤘
@@MaxPowersTastyTones Of course all the ENGL‘s are very good amplifiers.I love my Artist Edition 100 and my Savage 120MKII.I have tried out before the Powerball and the Blackmore but also the old savage 60 and of course the fireball.A bandmate was playing the old SE and a Retrotube(I’d loved that amp). They all sounded great and have their own character/personality and it makes a lot of fun to play the ENGL‘s.For me its not a matter of price. It would be only very interesting to see and hear the difference between the big heads🤘
Now it‘s your turn! Which head do you prefer? Which one should I try next?
I'm so glad that the retro came into such good hands. love seeing the rt in your videos. All 3 amps are great.
Thanks a lot Chris. This amp is much appreciated and still sparks a lot of joy. :)

you wrote for equipment: ENGL 212 Pro cabinet with Celestion V30
which one ? the horizontal or the oversized vertical ?
Thanks
It‘s the horizontal. I thought it‘s clear because of the video itself. My bad ^^

Thanks a lot! Much appreciated! It sounds really good on its own and takes booster really well. It runs full grown 6L6 actually! :)
@@MaxPowersTastyTones Oh nice 👍
Nice! SE was my fav out of the three, however the RT had some good flavor and low end as well.
Thanks mate! Absolutely, the Retro Tube isn’t to be messed with. It can get really angry! 🤘🏻

I‘d love to do that. But in this case it‘s nice to see how different or alike they are regarding the different price range. :)

They are all kinda good. SE is great for metal, Retro for classic rock, and the Fireball for when you dont want to carry a big amp head.
That‘s absolutely true, Lucas. Which one would you choose for your personal style?
@@MaxPowersTastyTones SE for sure
@@LucasLeCompteMusic solid choice brother! Thanks for the sub. I returned the favor of course. Also on Facebook and instagram. :)
I hated the Retro 100. Too dark sounding. Nothing I did would brighten it up.
I know what you mean. Do you remember the speakers you were using with it?
