      I agree. I can go for walks or do yoga in the morning, but AM strength training kills me. I find that a late afternoon workout followed by dinner and then bed works better for me.

      Caffeine is shocking it blocks adenosine receptors and really screws up your CNS. It’s brutal on the nervous system. This is why in modern living we have a burned out anxious population. Anything the government pushes is usually bad for you and they want to drive down the population numbers anyway and they don’t hide it. Look into the WEF and their plans for us. Do the opposite of what they push and do your own research and you will be fine.

      Saying "it's not normal" DOESN'T HELP. Some people are just built differently, and we need ways to work around it rather than (the reaction of our bodies) being called abnormal and having it left there.
      I'm the same way as OP, I've never felt "good" after exercise. Either tired or sore or sleepy for days. Even though I played tennis on-and-of and did martial arts for years, I sleep enough and eat healthy, I've always felt like shit after exercising. After 32 years of living, I'm certain my body responds differently than y'all "exercise makes me feel great" normies. I've managed to play sports since the playing itself is fun, but I've never been able to motivate myself to exercise just because I feel good after. I'm here looking for solutions and work-arounds, but there's very little in the way of that here.
      Sorry if this sounds confrontational. I'm just not convinced my body's reaction is "not normal". It's different, is all. I'm happy to hear suggestions on how to minimize the aftereffects of working out enough to help me do it more often.

    I am so glad this was explained to me!!!! I drove 14 hours in one day, had to attend anatomy 2 with lab for 5 hours and I got stressed in class because I was lost and didn’t review before class, went to the gym and did a LES mills HIIT workout for 30 mins, came home to my dogs eye swollen and red so I had to go to the emergency vet on a Saturday where they tried to charge me over $1000 for random testing and eye drops. I had to look at the bill and call the vets out for unnecessarily charging me for things I didn’t want. When I got home it was too late to make to work so I stayed home and missed out on making $. Next day I did another HIIT workout and then had a bunch of chores like my boyfriends laundry, our meal prep, deep clean the house, and grocery shop. I couldn’t sleep that night and stayed up until 2 am then woke up at 7 tried to go to the gym and had 0 motivation to even lift. I started taking adderall and drinking energy drinks which probably enchanted all the stress. Today I am not motivated to do ANYTHING and it’s unlike myself. I really enjoy being busy but I can see why I am lacking energy. Lots of stress good and bad but not enough recovery.

    Most people aren't going too hard. The sleepiness comes from laziness. When you've been spending most of your days on the couch watching TV or lying in bed, of course you're going to feel exhausted after just a few sets of training to muscular failure.
    Overtraining is judged based on total amount of volume and ability to recover and have good performance for the next workout, not how sleepy you are after a workout.

      @lazo3251 Місяць тому

      @banderas2000 It has been happening more lately especially after leg workouts and every time it was because of my meal timing. If I eat and wait 2 hours before I lift, I end up eating my lunch only after I lift and this screws up the rest of the day.
      Also, lack of sleep is pretty popular. People want to stay up late but lifters require 8-9 hours of sleep.

    Adenosine is the chemical in your brain, caffeine looks the same at the molecular level, so when you take in caffeine ( whatever source you choose) it gets absorbed by the receptors in your brain an these receptors close an you get a “ buzz “ while the adenosine bounces around in your brain, until the caffeine wears off. That rush you feel is actually the release of adrenaline from your adrenaline glands & dopamine from your brain ( these are often referred to as feel good chemicals) an when caffeine stops working these 2 “ feel good “ chemicals are no longer being released. The receptors are open an the adenosine is absorbed thus giving your that drowsy feeling!

    With Hashimoto's, exercise intolerance is real. I did an intense dumbbell workout for 30 minutes and was sweating and softly winded - my brain felt better than it had in years and my body felt great too. Today, I did a no-weight HIIT cardio workout for 20 minutes and was so tired I could have gone back to bed, and it made it hard for me to recall things and focus for 3 hours afterward. I'll stick to dumbbell workouts.

    Caffeine is structurally similar to adenosine and attaches to the A1 receptor sites blocking adenosine from attaching. Then when the caffeine wears off the real adenosine essentially floods the receptor sites making you crash/get v sleepy.

    I’m gonna try this with you guys in hopes that you can help. Since turning 50 and post COVID when I workout my legs and that’s the only body part really affected get this feeling of being overly encouraged with blood. Doesn’t matter if it’s a simple leg workout or a CrossFit style WOD. I just completed a short workout that lasted about 10 minutes and it wasn’t overly taxing but about three minutes in and my legs were toast. I feel like I’m working overly hard to get my legs moving and this just wears me out. I know I drink plenty of water. Thanks

    This guy is tripping. I'm 52 years old and let myself go during the pandemic. I put on in excess of 50 lb of fat within 5 years. I have now been working out for about 6 months. I have lost around 30 pounds, started to lose a lot of fat and put on even more muscle, while gaining loads of strength. I was extremely weak from driving for a living, eating anything in sight and not exercising for 2 years of covid. I go to the gym now and put in two to three hours of intense split routines with an added 30 minutes of cardio at the end. My split routines are massive and I'm lifting like a powerlifter but instead of low reps I'm going more towards a higher end. I lift this heavy as I can for 8 to 12 reps. Sometimes more. I do supersets, pyramids and drop sets. I work out each muscle group until extreme fatigue and sometimes my arms are twitching. I have altered my diet to be around 70% better than what it was for the past five years but still need to tweak it a little bit more. I still have to lose at least another 30 lb of fat to be where I want to be. I typically work out midday and work nights. My sleep schedule is erratic because I work for myself. I know I have put in a great workout because about an hour after I have left the gym and eaten food, I need a nap.

    hopefully someone can help me: i did keto for around 6 month. after 3 month i got really fatigued and weak muscles. couldnt even work out. i was sore for a whole week after one set of pushups. my muscle got overworked very easily and it felt like lactic burning. like no more power or strength was left. so i couldnt train for three month. now i am back to carbs for 3 weeks now but still i feel very fatigued after a workout. and i usually do 3-4 sets of push and pull and legs. i get a heavy head and neck, i feel the weakness in my forearms. my muscles feel exhausted. why is that? how to overcome that? i want to work out and do sports but my muscles dont allow me.... i eat mainly unprocessed food. i sleep 6-7 hours. i thought it was because of keto but with carbs now it is still. not as bad as on keto but still this fatigue and weakness.
