great honest review! staying with my s4 for now then :) can't wait to see future versions
The iris scanner on the tab s4 has gotten really fast after the update to One Ui.
Just make sure to keep the sensor clean (just wipe it every now and then, like you would do if you were to take a selfie and the screen is dirty)

I've had the original tab s 8.4 inch since 2016. The wifi model with an exynos processor. The screen specs sounded like perfection to me, and I was right. However, I recently tried to play a 60hz 1440p video with really high bitrate on it. It would have looked fantastic if it worked, but the video stuttered and froze.
After some disappointing research on the state of 7-9 inch tablets by Samsungn, my choice was narrowed down to these 2. I decided to buy the S4 after seeing a good deal. My research was hasty, so I needed to check out exactly what more I could have gotten in the s6.
As it turns out, less! The S4 was one of the last high-end Samsung tablets to use a HEADPHONE JACK! I forgot that I would even have to watch out for that when buying new devices, what a relief to have made the right choice!

Recently, we are also considering whether to start with S4 or S6 and use the software Nomad Sculpt to carve. I wonder if I can use Nomad Sculpt to evaluate the performance of two tablets.

How long do they keep updating it for? I'm getting the tab s6 tomorrow and I'll hopefully have it for a few years atleast also how is your tablet holding up and how long have you had it. Sorry for bothering you I'd appreciate the response.
@@bluedogviking generally, samsung's flagship device would got an update for 2 years or more. I still got my note 8 an update from samsung's FOTA software update
@@sididitdit Thanks for responding I just got my Samsung tab s6 love it so far wanted it over a new phone since I like the size and battery. Looks and feels amazing I got the 256gb version with 8gb ram. I highly recommend it it's really worth it got mine for 629 plus tax cheaper then the new phone's just has worse camera but everything else I either the same or better.

You should get the tab s6 its 100 off and is the same price as the 256gb version of the tab s4 plus it's future proof and only 100 dollars more you can get the 256gb tab s6 with 8gb of ram.

As a student, using the tablet for writing, pen usability is super important for me. I Haven't heard anything about if maybe the accuracy has been improved, but I think differences are negligible. I'll stick to Tab S4
My tab s4 pen is always like 2-3 pixel off from where the pen tip actually is. I dont know if you draw as well but this is very frustrating for me when drawing, just got an s6 lite gonna see if its any better

You should get the s6 its worth it will get updated for longer and I'm pretty sure it's 100 dollars off I just ordered the 256gb s6 for 629. The tab s4 is only a little cheaper. the 256gb version of the s4 the same price as the base s6 that's 126gb at the moment better to get something future proof and for only 100 extra you could get the tab s6 with 256gb and 8gb of ram.
The processor gets 2x better scores on benchmarks on the tab s6 and it has 2x has much ram
I just got The S3 for 105$ and the screen and performance is excellent. I'm really amazed with how beautiful the screen is. Downside is I don't like the design very much (Logo and buttons) and andriod 9 only + missing some features like double tap to wake and DEX. I couldn't find used S4 but I think S4 is really good.
I don't regret my purchase for the money I'm satisfied. Enjoy your S4
Oh my, how i have not seen this before, I love your channel and I was about to buy a used s6 or a used s4 and with the jack in mind ill get the s4, its cheaper and will be amazing
I have the 18.5 inch Samsung Galaxy View tablet as well as I got this S6 tablet. which i am inlove with. Yes It does not come with a headphone jack but when I bought it here in Australia, Samsung had a promotion you get their wireless earbuds for free. So inlove with the tablet and the earbuds. Thanks for the great review.😊 P.S i did sell my tabS4 to purchase the S6 tab and so so happy i did.😊
This is an easy choice if you want a headphones jack get the s4 if you dont care for the headphones jack get the s6 they both the same so I bought me the s4

Thanks for the review but it would've been much more helpful if you actually opened a couple of apps like an office app or whatever so that we can get an idea of any difference in actual performance or lag. You did it for a couple of seconds with a browser, but that's affected by connection speed and doesn't give an idea about responsiveness. Just showing the two next to each other and comparing specs is helpful, but I can get the same info mostly from a static web page comparing specs.

Sd35 is decent chip though, still powerful enough than the sd670 of tab s5e well you don't play so any of this tab suits u,

Have you used the keyboard with any of the samsung tablets? Do you see the keyboard as a necessary accessory?
Keyboard is good to have if you type a lot, or spend a lot of time on the tablet. However the Samsung keyboard is overpriced. I prefer the Logitech Bluetooth keyboards. Sure they aren't designed to go specifically with the tablet, but that means you can use it with other devices, and also bring it when you need it. For all my past tablets, I've always used separate keyboards rather than keyboard covers.
Looking at s4 or ipad 10.2 gen 7 for drawing. I've only ever had kindles. I want something durable that will last more than a couple years. Or is that basically every tablets problem??
Well, the ipad 10.2 has no laminated screen=parallax. I noticed it using one note. The s4 is more precise but the s pen tip is a little bit better. Simce apple devices will be after an actualization 2 times slower, i would get the s4. Im not a neutral opinion because i have always used android

I buy reconditioned because I don't need the latest specs and this stuff becomes obsolete within a year..anyway I paid $250 US for tab S4 lightly used 12 months old.. if I get two years out of this I'm thrilled
Aside from the glass back the tab s4 is by far my favourite tablet.
Why DEX doesn't has smart view
Can Teoh or anyone confirm whether the s4 pen is less sensitive when used on tab s6 or not? I've used one with protective tempered-glass-ed tab s6, it cannot produce very thin lines like the s6's pen, and without enough pressure it would sometimes produce disconnected lines. I wonder whether my s4 pen is faulty or not. Still great to do drawing with anyway.
The pens should have no difference.

@@bivitabrata3188 I've not tried. I heard the pen from Wacom One pen display is compatible.
Very helpful...going for the S4, as it is on sale now...and the S6 seems to have a lot of problems crashing or glitchy etc. Or so I have noted in other user reviews.
How much time you used the headphone jack on the s4 and wireless on the s6?
I use these mostly at home and the four way speakers are good so I don’t use the headphone jack or wireless earphones. For my phone which has an audio jack, I use the wireless headphone when in office, and wired earbuds (lighter) while traveling. If I have wireless earbuds I would probably use them over wired ones, but not at home.

Both tablets can do all you said, including connecting to protector. As for keyboard you can always get an external Bluetooth keyboard.

One year later 😎 I also care about the headphone jack.... There's the S6 lite now that also has one... Would be much better for updates but screen isn't AMOLED 😶

I came here because I was about to buy a new tablet, and I went for the s4 because I got it for a very good price refurbished.
Just bought used one (20hrs), in new condition for $245, plus came with free case.
Ipads are so expensive in my country, I bid on the cheapest ones on Ebay and flip them all the time. I flipped two Ipads and now I have enough to buy a used S4 =D
sometimes the new version doest mean the old are not good but just company plan to take your money every year. you can stick to the old one and no functional differences, significantly

It's 2022, and I'll soon be a beginner digital artist. Never used a tablet before. So, I think I'll go with an oldie-but-goosie with the Tab S4... Any thoughts?
S4 is rather old now. Get the S6 Lite 2022 if possible.

It should be alright but S4 has been out for many years so I'm not sure how the battery life is holding up. You may want to get the newer Tab S6 Lite instead.

Great review, I had just bought a Tab s4 and I was debating if I had made the right decision choosing it over the S6, you now have given me piece of mind, I made the right choice. The two massive things for me were the S-pen and headphone socket as I mainly bought this tablet for artwork.

Tab s6 lite definitely lacks a lot of features. For example you cannnot access samsung dex in lite because you cannot connect it with keyboard. Thats the major difference tho.if you dont care for that tab s6 lite is a good bargain

Just bought s4 lte for 500 dough, so i am very happy , the s6 is 200 more and very hot apparently , and dont forget it is thinner , last time i check a hot chip in thinner closed space never ever a good thing , xbox360 cough* cough*

I just recently picked up the S4 (price drop) and absolutely love it! I honestly like the all glass construction. I got mine mostly for media consumption so I don't think spending the extra money would have made much of a difference. Great review by the way! Thank you!

It's not about the money. I would've paid the full price of the S6 if it had an audio port. That was a deal breaker for me.
