The University is using GM’s slot-die coating technology to develop lightweight solar panels. The panels have been produced with a water-based OPV suspension on GM’s next-generation FM330 Solar Coating Platform by the team at the University of Newcastle.
As a supplier to this rapidly developing market, GM works with universities and research institutes worldwide to deliver new alternative solutions to established energy-intensive technologies.
GM’s FM330 coating platform features advanced roll-to-roll coating technology for thin film applications. The modular and versatile machine is suited for R&D and production environments making it the ideal bridge between laboratory and factory applications.
GM FM330 features the following applications:
    • Organic and perovskite photovoltaics
    • Battery and fuel cells
    • Thin film sensors
    • Supercapacitors
