For those of you who want a slower version of this video, like me: if you change the speed to 0.75, the workout goes from 105 bpm to 180 bpm, with 7.5 bpm increments. Here the full list of (bpm showed in video at normal speed) -> (bpm at 0.75 speed)
140 bpm -> 105 bpm
150 bpm -> 112.5 bpm
160 bpm -> 120 bpm
170 bpm -> 127.5 bpm
180 bpm -> 135 bpm
190 bpm -> 142.5 bpm
200 bpm -> 150 bpm
210 bpm -> 157.5 bpm
220 bpm -> 165 bpm
230 bpm -> 172.5 bpm
240 bpm -> 180 bpm
Hope this helps :)
I play this on 0.50 to really focus on rebound and fluidity! Can recommend!!!
thanks!
Been playing drums 26 years and never have I done something as crazy as that. Everything was going great until it reached 200bpm when I literally felt as my left arm is falling off! Had to stop. I'm gonna do this every day until I make it perfect. THANKS SO MUCH !
And we are in the same "boat" .
But notice his thumbs there they are at 210 and then shift to 220 and get those fingers to work, easy to say i know, have the fight as You around 190/200.. Dont give up 💪👍🏾🥁
Has anybody tried this with traditional grip? I full apart at 210bpm..so hard!
Did it work for you finally ? Painfree ? Reached 240 bpm ?? Thx for your reply
🏁👍
@@jonbear171 i play trad grip, been playing about 7 months, I made it to 210 and started to lose form and my right wrist was starting to get pins n needles 💀 hopefully eventually I can do it…
When the bpm went above my speed limit (210 +), I switched to playing 4 strokes on each hand. This trained me so that I am able to play the whole workout.
Thats a good way yes, i do the same
Been doing this 3-5 days a week for the past 6 months. Can confirm that it helps if you stick with it!!
Exercise starts at 4:11
I'm now trying to do this daily while watching the video.
I knew I was bad, but this really put it into a good perspective. Very happy I found this video. Will try to come back and update my progress on this comment.
seems like it's a slow process haha
Maybe it's time to come back now.
I speak Spanish and it's so fun to be able to understand 90% of what you're saying, only to look at the subtitles for specific words that are different. Cheers!
Been doing this daily, all wrists. Falls apart at 200bpm but I started originally struggling at 170/180 so it works for sure!
how long
@@smanduu9204 I've been doing other speed work for a while now but I did this stone killer daily for about 6 weeks and 200bpm started smoothing out.
Especially for my playing level (high beginner/low intermediate) it's worked wonders
I'm glad this video is a thing. All the big drum channels talking about a 5 minute warm up. 5 minutes won't do anything for u
It's called a warm up for a reason
Looks like I'll have to stick around 220 BMP for a while, can't go higher and still keep consistency... Riccardo thank you for posting this!
Discipline and patience to all \m/
Thanks for your support! :)
The slower version of this workout is finally out. You can find all the details in my official facebook page :)
Yep, 220BPM seems to be the limit right now, but I'm sure with consistency it's gonna get more :)
4:12 begin of workout
For medical reasons I had to quit playing drums entirely for about 4 months. Went from a pretty decent level to feeling like an absolute zero. It's really frustrating, after over a decade playing metal, not to be able to hold simple sixteenths on my double bass for over a couple of bars; let alone patterns. I will use the stonekiller workout (slow 100-200 version) on my feet and see how it works out. Should be great to reactivate my muscles. Thank you, Riccardo!!
Don't give up leo ;) The passion will drives you in your goals
Very proud of myself being a 16 year old completing through this workout.Though i had to shift to singles at 16th notes triplets after 230bpm.Cheers:)

@@RiccardoGrechi it's the same person ... Thank you so much brother.
I've been doing this daily now for like a week. Really great exercise! ✌
Grazie Mille Riccardo! I use this video so often and I really appreciate you making it!
Bell'esercizio! Rock On!
Bravo!! Apprezzo i video così, 20 minuti di esercizio , mitico!
Knocked out at 8 bars of 225 on Lefty. Very good method, definitely doing this every day
Complimenti ti sei fatto il mazzo tosto veramente!!!!
hi, I found this workout and it is something I plan to do every day, I play on drum set and have been focusing on playing everything together and decided to try to get faster with my hands cause I like metal music
Awesome workout dude, thanks for the downloadable versions! I have a recording at the end of May and I am going to try do this workout everyday till then. Also might try the slower version with my feet. Once again thanks for the share!!
Super clean technique. Looks almost effortless. Good stuff
perfect, congratulations !!!!!!!
Gran video!

Riccardo Grechi Drummer ma no!
Thx Riccardo, i feal nice improvement of my weaker hard in just 3 days.

Hey Riccardo, great lesson and great handspeed! Hats off!!!

@@RiccardoGrechi That's super cool! I'm looking forward to it =)

Very good workout! My left hand gives out at the end of 210, but that's better than I expected!

That was hard! Nice exercise
Definitely need this... Thanks...
I love this, I always try to work this out with the legs too😅😅not easy, but thanks
This is a perfect workout. I started doing it with my feet also.
It is amazing on the feet! Try variations like heel down/heel toe/ slide.... great workout!
200L/210/R Much work to be done. Thank you for posting.
Makes me happy to see so many others finding this difficult! 210ish and I was losing it. Will keep pushing! Thanks man!

@@RiccardoGrechi thank you kind sir!
Awesome excersice! I could only do it to 200bpm but I'll get there
how bout with marching sticks? normal drumest sticks light af lol
man u r god level
Was able to get through the whole workout, proud of myself.. surprisingly 180 gave me the most trouble
Proceed step by step and you will reach your goals :)
First time doing: 7/17/24, made it to 4 bars of 190bpm on left cleanly then couldn't keep up with 5 bars. Right hand still felt fine. Right hand max was 225bpm for 8 bars, cleanly (matched grip).
Insane work out. The range of the stick in each hand is beyond comprehension . If this doesn’t fix your speed nothing will.
Super!
Thank you!
Grazie Riccardo Sei Fortissimo... My right hand no problem .. my left hand problem at 230... Lavoro ...!!

@@RiccardoGrechi I use this for my Double Bass Drums... Riccardo My Genitore are Immigrants From Molise .... Viva "Alitalia.....
Bravo!
Wowww what a hand exercises on drumpad....I play a long with you at 170 bpm and my right hand is tired...But I know after a week of paly a long with you is it become stronger ..
Thanks again.
Wow! Lightning fast.
fra gli esercizi più EFFICACI di sempre
When your timing is so good, your practice session can be used as a metronome for other peoples' practice sessions.
O.O........that's some speed and endurance
From 200 to 235 bpm for a months, ty)
day 3 - i'm dying @ 210 :D great workout btw, thanx mate!
ottimo!
Very nice. You kept the full strokes going without any fingers until about 180. I’ll have to give this a shot. I’d like to hear you do this using a Moller technique with accents. It would probably be a breeze for you.
Thanks for this great video! Any suggestions for my floppy left wrist ? Are there any exercises I can do away from drums to strengthen my left wrist ? Thanks.
How can it not improve any drummer . All drummers should be doing this
I had no idea drummers can count so fast. I can’t even say the number in my head as fast as he plays them... scared to watch his double pedal workout now. Lol
Ken Moses listen to the bell. Count the chimes, not every time the stick hits the pad. So we will count ONE...2, 3, 4...TWO, 2, 3, 4...THREE, 2, 3, 4...and so on.
Does this help? Peace and Blessings😊
Great job, Riccardo! I remember learning this from Joe back in the 80's, but I never took it this far. Joe would be proud! Is there some secret to getting access to download the metronome file?
well my stones got killed, phew gona make this one of my routines for sure, thnx !
Imma do this every day, after 5 days i went from being unable to finish 190 to be able to (struggling a lot must I say) finish the 200 bpm
Almost perfect. The right pinky begins to stray at about 220/bpm-and that’s a good thing, otherwise we’d be looking at a cyborg or an alien.
The slower version of this workout is finally out. You can find all the details in my official facebook page :)
I fell apart at 180. Thanx

Thomas Lang is a big fan of the Stone Killer Workout.
Interesting how you went from german grip to french grip when it became too fast. Great video, thank you so much
220... Thanckssssss
Left 190/6 Right 200/4 new record ! it works
Nice one! I made it to 220 but couldn't make the grip adjustment.
Untill 230 bpm is fine, this is the point my left hand stars to struggle alot more, and my right hand give in slightly. No exhaustion though ^^. Nice exercise
Interessante.
This is cool, thanks. At some point you switched from wrist to fingers. Couldn't quite catch when. I think it's important for people to know this. 200 for wrist is super hard to do, but he's not doing that. So you need to learn some finger stroke technique to do this.
When my weak hand gets to a speed it's uncomfortable with, the muscles start to get tighter. Should I keep powering through at this speed or slow it down and only play with a very loose hand?
It looks like its all fingers and no wrist.
