My pre-order of these arrived a couple days ago, I was elated to get them out of the package and onto the shelf display. I did notice the chin popping out the bottom of the helm, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the phase 2 clones from Andor.
Nice!!! Yeah I think those Andor Phase 2's just didn't look that great. The base of the figure was spectacular but the helmet, and off white color was a bit of a bummer. I'm digging this Phase 1 Clone a lot ✨👌😃✌️✨
For whatever reason Hasbro added a thick layer on the top inside of the helmet. Not sure what the point of that was. I just ended up using my Dremel to sand a millimeter or 2 off the inside. There's more than enough material to do it safely and now it fits much better.
Man, am I glad that I never army-built any Clone Troopers based on VC45. The look and proportions pushed me away right from the beginning for obvious reasons. Always held on the ROTS #41 Clone Trooper sculpt.
I would rather have no portrait and eventually have a perfect helmet. No wonder I decided to pick multiple Stormtroopers from the upcoming ANH wave. No idea if I’ll be able to get more Stormtroopers (getting my first four this Summer for display with the ANH Vader) but we’ll see. I won’t say no to Snowtroopers or individually carded Scouts.
Hasbro should just include both an unhelmeted portrait with a removable helmet AND a swappable helmet head. That way everyone is happy and really isn't too much to ask since it is not that much added plastic.
That would be cool, but likely not a possible given how they include accessories. We fortunately have a lot of older style helmets from previous releases. ✨👌😃✌️✨
Have you noticed that on both the phase 1 and 2 clones the neck is a bit short? The bottom of the helmets touch the chest armour straps on the shoulders, the neck needs to be a bit longer.
@@ToysAreTheWay I added a 1mm thick disk of styrene rod into the bottom of the neck hole, lifting the head up a bit which works for both the head and helmet 👍🏻
Nice review. If you just align the jawline and bottom of the helmet so they're parallel when you put the helmet on the chin doesn't show. I'm all in favour of swappable heads and helmets, as long as they actually include both the head and helmet (unlike in the new clone 4-pack that doesn't include heads).
It's less severe but still not ideal. The swappable heads are definitely the way to go, and I totally agree both the clone portrait and helmet should be included. ✨👌😃✌️✨
Hasbro always leaves something out, unpainted, messes something up it's so aggravating and it seems like they piece meal parts together idk what goes through their minds but good review brother
Yeah they over look quite a few things, but at the same time they are constantly scrambling to get us these figures, so I get it. I do wish they would field test these figures more, just to ensure that they are the best possible figure that is shipping out to fans. Sometimes there's things they over look that I as a photographer/collector would have adjusted. Appreciate your support as always man! ✨🤘😁🤘✨
Its not that hard to stop the neck from showing… all u need to do is put on the helmet, then shimmy the chin up while holding the helmet. After doing this, if u want to move the head around just squeeze the helmet together and release once you have moved it to preferred position.
I kind of messed with it, and it's ok at best. Still not a fan of this helmet in general, I really hope they revisit it with a hard plastic swappable in the future. ✌️😎😎✌️
The helmet fit is awful. The head is too small. Helmet too big. Neck too short. I cut off the head from earlobe to earlobe. I painted the bottom of the remainder black with Tamiya. Super glued the helmet on. Passable but not perfect. Frustrating. The inside of the helmet is absolutely flat up in there. Swappable is the Way. Or no human head. I don't need them.
Excellent review of star wars clone troopers phase 1 keep collecting toys are the way 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Always a good day when a new Toysoftheway video goes up! Can’t wait to get my phase 1’s!
Thank you so much!! Glad you like them! Hopefully your Phase 1's show up soon, I'm really liking these troopers ✨🤘😁🤘✨
Another way to fix the head issue is to just pull the head up a bit. Then the helmet will go all the way down
I tried that and it didn't do much to solve that issue. It's definitely not ideal, but I like my current adjustment for this helmet issue ✨🤘😁🤘✨

Clones Are The Way! 🤩
For the Republic! ✨🤘😁😁🤘✨
Great review, I agree completely on all of this. I'm hoping the inevitable 4 pack has a solid helmet.
Thanks man! Yeah same here, fingers crossed they get it right for that 4 pack!! ✨👌😃✌️✨

Yeah, I bought quite a few 501st and 332nd, but I am not mad about it. My Republic forces are rather hefty and can only grow from here! ✨🤘😁🤘✨

Totally agree, we have plenty of clone portraits, and at this point I'd rather just have perfect helmets ✨🤘😁🤘✨

I'd like to see a clone/storm trooper that combines elements of Spanish conquistador armour.
I hope Hasbro got the message no more removable helmets, swappable head/helmets only!
Same, and so far it seems like they have with all of the new releases currently hitting. ✨👌😃✌️✨

I have, it's not the best, but my tak adjustment does allow the helmet to sit a little higher. Which looks better in my opinion ✨🤘😁🤘✨

For some weird reason the old mold phase 1 helmet fits better on this new mold that the one that comes with the figure.
Yeah it seems to be slightly larger, they definitely should have fixed this ✨✨✌️😎✌️✨✨
Plus the legs look realistic
Totally! That's a huge upgrade, and just the articulation alone is way better ✨👌😃✌️✨

🐑 Ahora que el problema con el clon está arreglado se viene "The posing"

Yeah very true but the figures are good I just wish they did a better job especially with the prices we pay

@@ToysAreTheWay yeah same, i think the Rex from the same wave is a step in the right direction
The VC45 helmet looks horrendous.
Yeah each day that passes that mold looks not so great ✨😃✨

Swappable is definitely the way!! ✨🤘😁🤘✨ There's just so many instances where there is an issue.
