dont be silly.They are from Athens Greece.Started as death metal by the name phlebotomy and then the singer of Nightfall suggested the name On thorns i lay.Then they cahnged their style and the main members went to Romania for studies in the university.There they took local musicians to fill the empty spots.Upon their return in Greece they became again a full Greek members band.
